This was never going to have actual spoilers since its a mumsnet discussion thread and none of us actually know anything

It was simply another thread set up as mentioned below as some people objected to people discussing cast list and interviews on the original one. Of course I could have tried to word that all in the title but spoiler friendly seemed self explanatory at least to those who first hopped over.

Nobody left the other thread just those of us who did want to discuss possible clues from trailers etc did it here

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but here is my theory:

The hotelier is second in command to Garrett running a paedophile ring. Bourg was just the 'lure' and used by Garrett who has been blackmailing him. The medal uncovered at the end of the last episode belongs to the hotelier which is why Tony recognises it.

I just wonder about the Caid de Cite connection.
They slashed Rini's throat when she mentioned Oliver. That may have purely been because she was Leon's girlfriend and he had been an undercover cop and they knew she was working/asking on behalf of the police.
But why would Ziane be killed? Unless someone higher up instructed that, like Georges Deloix?

Spoiler pretty sure we have all seen this anyway on the BBC website but on the Radio Times website it lists the full cast for the final episode. It includes a Minister ( presumably for some service). Plus James, Julien's daughter & the Tabac Owner. Amongst many others....if it was a full cast list for all episodes , it's missed lots of cast. Was the Tabac opposite Vincent's flat? The fact that the 'blurbs' for this episode ask how can their relationships ever be whole again? That's referring to Tony, Emily, Mark & Julien. I get the first 3 but why would Julien's relationship be affected? He & his wife seem happy enough although she wants him at home more. Unless it's because his daughter was involved in a small way or she dies? Maybe that's where the Minister comes in?

I think the tabac was in Paris (?) when Tony makes the connection between Vincent & Ian telling the same story in the same way? Tony buys a paper, the tabac owner has a conversation with the next customer & Tony asks him what "rien" means. I might be wrong though.

I thought someone said Emily and Mark were getting married in the trailer? Wouldn't there be a minister there, although that makes no sense as they have just called off the wedding.

Oh no, it isn't a minister for a funeral is it?

MisAnneThropy possibly some sort of Memorial service I thought - if they find out that Ollie died. Although possibly Julien's daughter dies? Or it may be really mis-leading and another red herring & it may be a flashback to someone else entirely.

I've just looked on IMDB. They haven't added an ep8 cast list, but they list a minister in ep1, so if it is the same one it may be flashback, or rerun of what happened them but showing what happened to Ollie (so his story is no longer missing).

Or it could be funeral/memorial service, wedding, or another visit by Emily to the church.

Maliki was in a church during the last episode when he deleted the message from Emily to Tony. Maybe that's where the minister comes in?

I thought Malik was on a Station Platform when he deleted Tony's call?

Actually my DH said he was in a church at the time so maybe I'm wrong but I don't think that's anything to do with the Minister. If he was in a Church on his mobile... Phone hacking... He's deserves a bolt of lightening!

Or maybe it's a service for what'shisname the policeman that attacked Julien? [hopeful]

Malik was in a train station ticket office (although I can see why it might be taken for church- tres French and much stone) when he delted the hacked voicemail - I've just rewatched it, so no link to the Ep 8 minister there.

Arsenic there's dedication to the cause re watching it!

The actor playing the Minister is a native English speaker and they seem to have stuck to people playing roles in their native language. So that suggests he will be something to do with Tony/Emily/Mark. Have we seen Emily's father's funeral yet? It could be that.
