I think Monique's only relevance will be Tony moving on with life.

Regards the drawing on the wall in the basement by Ollie, maybe it was his way of trying to say "look, its this guy- daddy with the big ears" who may possibly be Mark. I did notice that Mark has rather large ears. I think Ziane might have been the bloke on the stairs in the basement too.

I don't think it can have been Ziane on the stairs.

Because he was meeting Baptiste at the train station the morning after the abduction.

Maybe the cleaning bloke came before Ziane started work and the meeting at the train station was after. I don't want it to be Ziane though and he doesn't fit into my theory anywhere either!

Train was 11ish (if the platform clock was right).

But he was there with Laurence, having been first responder (he was the one who answered the first call to the police) and I doubt he could have vanished from those first few frenetic hours of police enquiries.

Seen a few posters saying definitely Mark.
This week should be interesting, it should show why Emily and Mark are together.

The guy walking by the pool in episode 1 looks like the policeman who let Ian Garrett into Toy's cell after he'd beaten up Vincent Bourg. Ian said he was a pal of his. Probably already been mentioned somewhere or discounted.

Indianshop girl I thought guy walking past the pool was suspicious too, until I watched an interview with actress who plays Emily.
She said that viewers were so gripped that they were speculating about extras like the guy in episode one who just happened to walk by the pool.
He does look across in a suspicious way I agree :))

FlorenceMattell haha ... Did she?! I have to admit that I'm one of those people who are now dissecting every scene and every comment. However we all know that none of us have been given the whole picture yet so we can only surmise. It has kept me (almost ) sane though... Reading everyone's comments!

She's just jealous because even the walk in extra is actually a better actor than her.

I've just realised that Zidaine isn't in the cast list for the final episode, but charmatain is. I wonder if that means he is connected to others too?

I also saw an interview from the director on BBC website, which described Tony as a good guy at heart. That seems pretty clear that it definitely isn't him. He also describes 2014 as a bromance between Tony and Baptiste, so I think that rules out Baptiste too.

Maybe Ziane is Charmartin?

I wondered that too AuntieStella !!! Maybe that's what Malik recognised ...he said something about 'Ill tell Baptiste who you are"

I think that's the only one of my ideas du jour that has come to pass!

I assume the item is a sobriety medal. But I don't get why Ziane left it with Malik, rather than just showing it to him. Nor why he was so sure so quickly that it was evidence, not just something dropped by a CdeB resident.

I'm guessing it was that it had blood on it?

Did Mark ask Malik to bury the evidence?? Has he given the real evidence to Baptist?
Who knew they were all going to see Zianne- Mark and Baptiste ...

DH says that the guard (friend of Ian's ) who let him into cell to see Tony, was the one who went up to Ziane .. Saying have you heard before he was killed. He had seen the son waiting to talk to Ziane.
Maybe they are all part of the ring including Alain & Georges?

Disgruntled....call this a spoilers thread! Come on, please summarise 8 episodes in 3 sentences . Who did it ? Why ? Is the boy dead? ( sorry, too depressing a story line to actually watch it)
