Alas, cjwoof I'd be the same I think. Paragraph after paragraph of very detailed description of low slung belt region. I am in utter admiration of those of you who have the guts and talent to put their writing up for us to read (and so thankful). It must be wonderful though to know how much enjoyment you've given us all.

Nickel45 · 04/12/2014 23:43

I've been very restrained and not texted crap but an now very drunk and going to bed ... Had a bril night, just what I needed but can't see straight so can't read what you've all written! It's been a very long time since I've had a decent drinking sess! Kept wondering what you were all up to, but it was a long walk to the loos and decided against divulging my secret life to my school mum friends by checking in in front of them!! They think I'm mad enough as it is, laughing at my phone all the time. . Will catch up tomorrow, zzzzzzzzzz .....

Smurfingreat · 04/12/2014 23:55

Morning all.

icemist (aka Head of IT Services) I've divided it up into three chapters. I'm not sure if that's too much or not so if you think it should be broken up differently, please go ahead. I know you'll be brilliant at it. Are you adding it to one of our existing works? Thank you.

I'm out and about most of the day so not very likely to have much chance to check in again until tonight. I expect we might even be on Thread VI by then.

See you all later.

cherin · 05/12/2014 07:50

Thread VI? Who would have thought!!
Good job, ilove, you've been above and beyond! (Besides the OGism, I am really impressed :-)

orphan · 05/12/2014 07:50

Yay - Happy Friday! Operation Bulge and lip bite, with a vest hold thrown in for good measure! Thanks icemist.Smile

Nickel45 · 05/12/2014 07:50

ilove, that is the nuts! Love it, you got it spot on Smile. I am in complete awe that you wrote it all, It took me ages just to do a couple of lines!,

richtea, shame there was no opportunity to use the tape measure, but hope you had fun anyway.

Right better get on, else the kids will be late for school again.
I can't believe I dont have a hangover this morning!

firegirl · 05/12/2014 08:09

I think you were spot on yesterday SPO, when you talked about feeling anxious about writing and nervous about how it would be received. These are not brand new characters that have only existed in the writer's head, they are characters that everyone already knows and loves extremely well and everyone has taken ownership of them in a way. So to then write about your own perception of what they are going to say and do is and put it out there is as you say not easy. Which is all the more reason why the three of you did really well yesterday in what you wrote for us and how it touched us all. You nailed it! And no wonder it leaves you feeling drained.
Oh God, really late for work now!

SPOfficer · 05/12/2014 08:42

Morning all. Given we are nearing the end of thread v and it is coming up to The festive season should we be thinking about a greatest hits thread ready to cater for the Christmas market or maybe reissue our back catalogue in a box set with a companion booklet charting our development as a group, our influences etc?

Alternatively we could concentrate on our next thread and explore new genres as an outlet for our artistic motivation. I don't think we are ready to leave the group to pursue solo careers and we have (mostly) avoided any temptation to descend into drug and alcohol fuelled excess as many successful groups do.

Anyway your thoughts would be welcome!

cjwoofwoof · 05/12/2014 08:51

Had a terrible dream last night BA had gone to Canada for a Hollywood makeover and came back with a face like Barry Manilows! Someone shd tell him he's already totally perfect and doesn't need any 'work' on that beautiful face aaaagh! Then I woke up to icemists pics and lust calm was restored. I've obviously been worrying about BAs whereabouts too much...

cjwoofwoof · 05/12/2014 09:06

SPO don't mind in what genre it's written so long as CJs manly body parts are mentioned...often!! Xmas Grin

orphan · 05/12/2014 09:11

cjwoof lol! That definitely classes as a nightmare.

Thinking of Christmas and the inevitable dreadful cracker jokes, can you lot come up with OG themed cracker jokes? My poor attempt is:
How many CJ's does it take to change a light bulb?
None - he has to outsource the job to Richard Armitage as he's too busy stoking fires, pruning bushes etc

Remember, cracker jokes have a responsibility not to be funny...

Ilovelblue · 05/12/2014 09:14

SPO "Mumsnet, the best of the hardcore posters Oct-Dec 2014" please. Lots of photos, drawings and everything else that has made us laugh and kept us sane.

cjwoofwoof · 05/12/2014 09:22

I got a cracker joke: How would CJ describe a tasty Christmas turkey dinner? Answer: Clucking Gnawsome

orphan · 05/12/2014 09:30

No cjwoof that's no good - you made me laugh!!Xmas Grin

orphan · 05/12/2014 09:34

OK attempt number 2:

what's Smurf's favourite game?
Pooh sticks (shit end of the stick etc)

cherin · 05/12/2014 09:39

Oh no, I am terrible with jokes!!
But I saw armitage last night in Ultimate force and I can now confirm that he's not a speckle (let alone a patch) to BA! Even in an after-shower scene ;-)

Richtea19 · 05/12/2014 10:00

Terrible with jokes too! Yours are too funny for cracker jokes.

Woke this morning a bit bleary eyed I think all the excitement of possibly seeing BA tool its toll on me. I quickly read the posts this morning and though I read the thread was going solo, topped with BA had plastic surgery!!! Ahhh tell me no!!! I'm not ready for this.

Is it wrong that I am still laughing about rear ending?!! :)

firegirl · 05/12/2014 10:02

Why was CJ happy at Christmas? Because he'd come top in the scores on the Dawes.

Nickel45 · 05/12/2014 10:11

Oh no, I can't cope with jokes this early in the morning!

Amazed I was feeling so good this morning, I decided it was time to start my Christmas shopping. Having missed my exit from the motorway .. by two exits .. It probably wasn't the best idea! Think I might gonna need three or four shots of coffee to be a fully functioning anything this morning!

cjwoofwoof · 05/12/2014 10:23

Here's another cracker joke esp for Orphan: If Richard Armitage is doing the basting and CJs doing the stuffing, what have you got? Answer: One beautifully roasted bird

Ilovelblue · 05/12/2014 10:25

Still in the office as one of the meetings offsite has been cancelled. One of our managers has turned up in a blue check shirt. Nice enough guy, tall, well built but you wouldn't call him fat. Did not suit that blue check shirt though - not a patch on CJ!

cjwoofwoof · 05/12/2014 10:25

I'm on a roll here...What did CJ say to the fairy lights that wouldn't work? I want you to be brilliant
