I think Molly meant the whole thing with Bashira. Everything that happened was a result of her friendship with her.

Twitter seems to be quietening down a bit. Apart from the nutty OG anon posts that pop up. I'd be blocking them by now Grin

Off to find a nice photo for this evening

Mmmmhhh, I was also wondering about the Ball bag sentence...does she means she's happy that she has something looking forward to (his coming out of hospital) vs staying at home doing little?

What would she change? Not sure she regrets openly having slept with smurf...after al, that was the old Molly and for her a drunken thing at the back of a takeaway was ok. She still didn't know better. May be she regrets not having been clearer with him...yes she told me numerous times she wasn't interested, but he was a bit thick from that point of view

If she had not get involved with Bashira, yes the shooting on the bridge would have not happened...but more shootings would have occurred at the mountain pass? In reality the conclusion of all that effort is not much. Bashira is safe but basically an orphan, the boys only are going up school. Fairly similar story to the reality of afghan? Bah humbug- depressing thought!

cherin · 17/11/2014 21:00

Lots of lip biting, icemist, well done! I am less depressed, already!!

icemist · 17/11/2014 21:24

'its a different ball bag with you and that' - think she means being with CJ, they have obviously been in contact since we saw them together last in the hospital and have established a relationship of some description.

icemist · 17/11/2014 21:34

grr posted too early...
and that they are back in the UK and have a actual proper relationship. And that they don't have to skulk around or make excuses to spend time with each other (blisters....)

So glad your back Icemist, thought you went AWOL, and lovely selection of lip biting for us!

Yes I still don't get the ball bag thing, is she comparing her life with CJ'S since they have come home? I don't know? I keep replaying it and I swear he becomes more beautiful each time. Anyone noticed those two little marks on either side of his nose? Maybe chicken pox scars!!!! Very symmetrical though, possibly a swimming nose clip?!

firegirl · 17/11/2014 21:36

I agree icemist but I wish we'd seen a bit of that relationship building, even a phone call? It just makes it all the more implausible to me that she calls him Charles the first time at the restaurant. Had she called him bossman up to then? I think I'm overanalysing sadly!

mandy214 · 17/11/2014 21:38

Evening! Think she regrets the aftermath of getting involved - I think deep down she realises that was, on paper, the right thing to do, but at that moment in time, she thinks that Bashira is forced to live away from her family, having killed her father, and they're sat in the hospital - with Smurf semi- ok and CJ having been operated on. Its the uncertainty I think of dealing with the reality of it.

snumpy · 17/11/2014 21:47

I thought that when Molly said she would do everything differently she meant about Bashira. If she didn't get involved then she wouldn't have spotted Badrai which then meant they wouldn't have gone on the mission to capture him and cause her platoon to be put in danger.

When she's at the hospital with Smurf in Ep5 she says that nothing actually happened between her and CJ. Was she not aware that he spied on her or was she happy to lie to him? Why didn't Smurf correct her?

Off to read Kilodoctors new chapter Smile

stressybird · 17/11/2014 21:48

Blimey, I miss a few days on here and look what you've all been up to!
Been trying to go cold turkey on the thread as DH been complaining that I've spent more time giggling at my iPad lately than I have holding an actual conversation with him. He has a point to be fair so I've tried really hard this weekend. Even broke out in a bit of a sweat on occasions, wondering what could be going on without me, so now I'm allowing myself a well deserved catch up Smile

Especially loved the YouTube link to stills of CJ. Still as beautiful as he was all those weeks ago

icemist · 17/11/2014 21:48

I think she's comparing her life now at home to being on tour

noticed the little scars...

I think- need to check tomorrow- that youngest has managed to scratch one of my DVDs. I think I'll cry if it is Sad

icemist · 17/11/2014 21:51

don't think she knew that Smurf had seen the kiss. she didnt hear the conversation/Smurf shouting at CJ.

and Smurf had nothing to gain now by contradicting her

Ooooh infograms monopod I like the look of those! Bit advanced for me but here are some graphs of the data I have been looking at!

Had a lovely day with DW even though shopping was involved. Noticed a subtle change in behaviour here. I tend to assume a detached indifference in department stores, benignly looking into the middle difference and nodding at the appropriate times when DW asks me something ( even though I have no idea what she has just said).

But today I found myself saying things like 'is that a nespresso machine? I wonder what pods they do?' and 'look at those blue lumberjack shirts. Do you think they are brushed cotton?' What have you lot done to me?

On a more positive note ran 3km today as part of new fitness regime. Feel sore but satisfied.

I think when she says it's a different ball bag with him she means that he understands what it is like to be in Afghanistan and trying to readjust to being at home, she then goes on to say she can't settle with her parents. DH away this week but recompression plans have gone wrong......left DVD at work. Might gonna need YouTube.

cherin · 17/11/2014 22:01

Maybe she means "doing something" as "doing IT". She also says "we haven't actually done anything" at the beginning of ep4 after the "keeping my hands off you" sentence. :-) I suspect in her reverse-ingenuity, she associates doing something with the sex act, instead of seeing the implications of the simple being in love.

cherin · 17/11/2014 22:04

(She is SO young after all! She can't be as wise and understanding as we mature women are...)

cherin · 17/11/2014 22:09

Brushed cotton is good, SPO, every decent man MUST have a good checked brushed cotton shirt. And gloves. Yellow. You must conform, don't fight it. Plus if DW is as clever as the average woman, she has already taken notice and added to the list of the Xmas pressies :-)

(Buying presents for DH being generally very difficult, at least chez moi)

The unfortunately-not-medic in me recommends using magnesium spray oil after sport. Prevents cramps.

icemist · 17/11/2014 22:10

I took the 'done anything/nothing happened' to mean IT rather than a kiss too. By Ep 4 all they have done is admit they really like each other can't wait to get back to the UK and rip that uniform off you

cherin · 17/11/2014 22:13

(Uniqlo has all men checked flannel shirts on offer at 14,9£. Grab a bargain, OG ladies! Lets make sure for Xmas our husbands will have something of the CJ...;-)
(Just joking. Don't take commission on Uniqlo sales. But really like their quality...:-)

monopod · 17/11/2014 22:24

Sorry richtea, totally misinterpreted your question earlier about the ball bag, duh... That will teach me to try and post while simultaneously checking work emails and also studying for my course... *multitasking fail

Anyway, for whatever little it is worth, and others have already articulated it better, I think she simply meant that she was ok when with him - she is understood, loved for and with the new identity she has shaped for herself and there is that kinship there where they can talk about the life-changing experiences they have shared out in Afghan. Unlike her family who will never quite get it.

As for her saying that she and CJ never did anything, I agree with others that she probably didn't know that Smurf had witnessed the kiss, but also that in her past experience, a kiss probably hasn't had real import or meaning. Don't think she'd ever really been in love before, and she's been used to an easy but empty physicality. Think the real love would have hurt Smurf more than if she and CJ had had a drunken shag behind the Indian takeaway...

cherin · 17/11/2014 22:27

I think this is exactly what he means when he says "she wants you to be the last thing she sees", uh?

monopod · 17/11/2014 22:30

Yes, exactly. He witnesses more than a kiss; he sees what they mean to each other.

snumpy · 17/11/2014 22:34

I can imagine around the country a few select men unwrapping checked shirts on Christmas day not having a clue about its significance.

Fantastic work SPOfficer with regards to your stats and graphs.

Beingfrank · 17/11/2014 22:52

Richtea - I did spot the small scars on his nose. I think they are chicken pox scars - one of my ds's has one in a very similar place and I always feel bad for him. Perhaps I won't worry, it hasn't spoiled BA's looks!
