Have you seen the news Sainsbury Christmas advert, it's the nuts. metro.co.uk/2014/11/12/did-sainsburys-just-win-the-christmas-ad-fight-supermarket-unveils-wwi-themed-video-with-royal-british-legion-4946519/

Rhubarb01 · 13/11/2014 14:47

Wow - that blows all the commercially themed ads out of the water!

Smurfingreat · 13/11/2014 15:02

I've actually left the FB group, because it was all getting a bit samey and boring as well as a bit stalkery. Certainly no stags in a paddling pool on there Grin.

Richtea19 · 13/11/2014 15:19

Just catching up on this afternoons postings. Bit weird about the Tumblr stuff, it's a bit stalker like. He can't be a Benny! It's like Charlie in Klipdoctor!

Ditto for FB group, same set of questions everyday and stuff we have covered ages ago and in more depth and interest. I like to think of ourselves as slightly bonkers, bit not stalkers!

Haven't seen the Sains advert yet but will have a look later and also the links that have been put on.

icemist · 13/11/2014 15:46

Sainsburys ad is amazing.

Better than the others. And based on something that actually happened too. Very apt for the 100 year anniversary.

Just looked at a recent post in the FB group. They are losing the plot. I've left it. Just annoying me now.

So, have we any more drawings?

Ok first opportunity to check in today, but am pleased to report I've managed to use a CJism. In a 'briefing' with my eldest over his so -laidback- it's -horizontal attitude to A levels, I said "I want you to be brilliant" (cue raised eyebrows from son) followed by "which means I love you," (bemused look from son) but then I went off script and said" So pull your bloody finger out and do your course work." For which I got a look that only an 18 Yr old can give you...

Smurfingreat · 13/11/2014 16:40

Brilliant Orphan, nicely fitted into RL. He'll thank you for it one day!

orphan · 13/11/2014 16:45

cherin agree that Noor's story would make a fantastic film. As a teenager I was fascinated by Violette Szabo and loved the film 'Carve her name with pride" with Virginia McKenna. There were so many amazing women during the war whose stories deserve to be told and better known

orphan · 13/11/2014 16:48

smurfing Mmm, I think the look he gave me was def a "cockwomble" one... Ahh, the joys of parenting!

ihearttc · 13/11/2014 17:07

icemist just out of curiosity which post on FB did you mean?? I wonder if it's the same one as I was reading earlier!

Richtea19 · 13/11/2014 17:14

Thanks Nickel for the Sainsburys ad, I am now crying, so bloody emotional. Bit close to the edge on normal circumstances but now you've done it!

Well done Orphan with your CJism for your 18yr old, have a very moody GCSE one. Might try that, he will think it very suspicious, as normally shouting "come on you cockwomble get on and finish your History essay"

Cherin, any more sketches today, got dad over for dinner (regular Thursday, I'm going to heaven!) and could do with some amusement!

orphan · 13/11/2014 17:32

Oooh icemist and iheart* do tell. Am not on Facebook so intrigued by this group. They don't sound nearly as erudite, eclectic or bonkers as us!

orphan · 13/11/2014 17:33

Love the ad and the fact that you can buy the chocolate!

pixieg1rl · 13/11/2014 17:55

I think it's a sign of our considerable maturity and level headed-ness that we can distinguish between CJ and BA.

The stag pictures and operation big gloves can be attributed to some mass hormonal hysteria

pixieg1rl · 13/11/2014 17:55

Or wine.

ihearttc · 13/11/2014 17:57

But I think that both TG and BA would find the Stag thing funny... The FB stuff is way way over the top.

It was tweeting Danny Cohen a picture of Anfield superimposed with a picture of OG.

cherin · 13/11/2014 18:06

richtea I literally didn't have time to breathe, at work today, but as you ask, I am thinking..,how about stag staring pensively at the horizon, from an observation turret? Like in ep3 when CJ is all jealous and Molly looks at him in anguish?
(At some point I will be able to get a stag to swing a mic, but not yet. If you know what I do for a living, you'd understand!)

cherin · 13/11/2014 18:08

(If you knew...bloody phone!)

orphan · 13/11/2014 18:09

I like to think stag art is in the tradition of the great surrealist artists. Cherin is the next Dali or Magritte (or she really can't handle her drink as she's already said!!)Grin

icemist · 13/11/2014 18:09

Or the 'I'm forever blowing bubbles' for Tony grounds. I don't think they realise just because you are tagged you see the posts, they come up as notifications do you just scroll past them. Might give a giggle but not going to make the director of BBC go 'of course, let's make another series of OG'

I think most of us here would be really happy if they did make another series, but equally accept that they may not.

cherin · 13/11/2014 18:11

Ps: I think we are great fun, we are not stalker and we are neither harnessing not abusing anyone. Only thing that suffer are my lard-ominals because of all that laughing, but that's a good thing!

icemist · 13/11/2014 18:13

I love the idea of the stag on the observation tower!

OP posts:
orphan · 13/11/2014 18:15

When do we get stag with a bowl of coco pops?

orphan · 13/11/2014 18:18

I can't wait for the swinging mic stag either. Am a little worried cos I think I'm more interested in the stag CJ than the other CJ.Confused
