Lots of head jerks required to direct stable girl and rest of staff.
And yes, he's kept his headset as well as rest of gear...

icemist · 12/11/2014 11:14

There are separate quarters at Bastion, depending on space - so by ep 4 as bastion is being dismantled it could be that there was no room in the female quarters. At the FOB I took it that she could use med tent to have rest/get changed/sleep if she wanted.
I think they put her in same quarters to make it easier for scenes

Just been as for itv encore on, using people help the people- do they know that's advertising Our Girl? Lol

Wish I could write fanfic cos I can picture him so clearly!

pixieg1rl · 12/11/2014 11:22

I think the bed in the med tent at the FOB must be there in case the medic needs to stay with a patient overnight. The med tent is also Molly's working area so maybe she also uses it for getting changed after a shower, which would explain why she's not in combat gear and has wet hair in the Rosabaya scene.
I've managed one OGism today with 'mission briefing 0830hrs. To get in your car seat and proceed to nursery'. Child didn't bat an eyelid.

Ilovelblue · 12/11/2014 11:33

PTS aren't the separate quarters when they are at Bastion (ie, a massive camp with facilities to segregate the men and women) when CJ tells her it's stags only? I too was confused by how she is shown in her own med tent and then sleeping in the same dormitory as the rest of the section but that is when they are at the FOB I think. (Correct me anyone if I am wrong). I don't have any army contacts but do have a few who are ex-RAF and of the two I sounded out about sleeping arrangements (who did think I was pretty odd coming up with such questions), both said it would be unheard of for the women to share with the men.

Rhubarb01 · 12/11/2014 12:02

orphan just thought - when stern faced, riding boot clad CJ (yes bound to retain the same name) remarks to cheeky stable girl, "Let's see how good you are with horses!" she could reply "The pony nuts! Sir"

PassTheSherry · 12/11/2014 12:18

pixieg1rl I love it hehe! Your child also sounds adorable in his/her total acceptance and lack of judgement.

Ilovelblue thanks for clarifying re sleeping arrangements protocol. Am chuckling at the thought of you randomly coming out with that question!

Nickel Oh. My. Goodness. That is THE NUTS - have a feeling will be playing with this facility quite a bit from now on! Starting at the beginning...

PTS just been thinking about the answer I gave you. I suppose RAF guys are at specific bases or stations to be with the aircraft and you wouldn't get them camped out in some godforsaken mountain area as you might the army but I am still relatively sure men and women would be separated. If nothing else, the woman would be at one end, not slap bang in the middle. Probably it was a "plot device".

By the way, both of my RAF sources gave me very strange looks about the question!

icemist · 12/11/2014 12:32

Fab pics PTS

Watching EP 3, I do love it

Just realised there's a limit to the amount of images you can post per day...probably just as well! Grin

Ladies and gent, the sun came up and I am already exhausted by my morning run on Cat A Mothers Duty, so I am grabbing my running gear and leaving (before second shift starts).
BUT I leave you with the draft I did last night, awaiting for suggestions and comments when I return.
In the meantime, I vote for a civilian but heroic job, like:
Firefighter (I know I am obsessed)
Helicopter rescue operative (kinda prince before he retired)
Vet/conservation specialist in exotic places (lions need protection, right? Vets need rifles, camouflage etc). Even a video reporter would do
Mountain guide

Food for thought, food for thought...

orphan · 12/11/2014 12:38

rhubarb And when the cheeky stable girl asks CJ (yes, name would be same) if the rumours that Prince Harry coming to look at buying one of the thoroughbreds are true, CJ replies "Ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies" (with exactly the same intonation and grin as in OG).
Oh and of course, after a hard day at the stud, CJ likes nothing better than to relax and lounge in his bath (and stay in long enough for the bubbles to disappear, but not long enough to go wrinkly).

cherin · 12/11/2014 12:39

It's a draft, uh!! I swear giving him hooves instead of his real hands was a real challenge!!! Blasphemy!

cherin · 12/11/2014 12:44

Ps: anyone else find of old classic Hollywood movies? Paul Newman was in a fantastic one gazillion years ago, called The long hot summer. If there's someone that would be perfect for a remake, it's BA ;-)

cherin · 12/11/2014 12:44

Fond, not find

orphan · 12/11/2014 12:47

cherin is it very, very wrong of me to go phwooar over a stag?

orphan · 12/11/2014 12:50

Re-makes of films is a good idea! I quite like the thought of David Lean's 'Ryan's Daughter' with BA in the tortured officer role.

icemist · 12/11/2014 12:51

That's brill Cherin.

I love that last one PTS.

Love this that Molly says "sometimes you can become friends with someone that you never thought you could ever be friends with. And the differences just disappear and ... Just being with them makes you happy" so describes Molly and CJ

New klipdoctor update.

orphan · 12/11/2014 12:55

See icemist that's why I think Molly could be a different animal to the CJ stag!!

Rhubarb01 · 12/11/2014 13:05

What about Casablanca (possibly a sacrilegious thought) you don't get more stern, brooding and lovelorn than Humphrey Bogart's, Rick and Dangleberries could play the piano!

cherin love the sketch - he's sort of satyr-like but in reverse.

orphan - I hesitate to suggest this but if Molly's a different animal there's really only one that's "100% by your side" - maybe a sweet little spaniel like 'lady and the tramp'.

SPOfficer · 12/11/2014 13:56

Afternoon everyone. Just checking in over lunch. Love the new series ideas and the new sketch Cherin!

Now I have been preparing for Operation Big Gloves tonight by practicing my door opening technique at work. I have found the best place to do this is the gents toilets as the cubicle doors are opposite the mirrors and I can assess how I am doing. So I have spent some time this morning opening, grinning, nodding and closing the cubicle door.

After a time I started looking like Lurch, the Addams Family butler. At the same time as this realisation hit me I also noticed for the first time the group of male colleagues clustered around the urinals watching me with fascinated expressions on their faces. Quick as a flash I said to them 'you know i'm sure this door is developing a squeak, must go and find someone in facilities management' I then beat a hasty retreat. I think people are starting to worry about me.

cherin · 12/11/2014 14:05

Oh please!!! I am literally rolling on the floor with laughter!

(Do you have a facility manager? Is he interested in Rosabaya coffee capsules? You can talk him into setting up a nespresso corner, you know...)

For someone who wouldn't hesitate defining herself a Earth Mother, I have an amount of Lycra on that is quite shameful. Still, happy with myself. And it didn't rain :-) but it will surely start pissing down as soon as I pick kids up.

Love the "mission briefing 08:30"! Sounds perfect! Will adopt! I have myself used a couple of "focus up" at the Learning together session earlier this morning, got a couple of oblique looks from DS's mates but they're in Y6, they must have already concluded I am deranged a couple of years ago.

Rhubarb01 · 12/11/2014 14:07

Wiping away the tears of laughter!
