Oh yes cherin and don't forget the stubble.

cherin · 10/11/2014 22:12

Wonder if he has problem of pants sizes
I didn't just say that
Must be the Zinfandel

orphan · 10/11/2014 22:13

SPO do you have the big gloves though?

cherin · 10/11/2014 22:13

(It was only a tiny sip, I swear)

Richtea19 · 10/11/2014 22:16

SPO, do you have a dress down/casual day at work? Thinking of you leaning against door frame of office door, not sure how you encompass the rigger gloves though? No words would be needed, just a cheeky grin ;)

orphan · 10/11/2014 22:18

Pants size problems reminds me to ask NVM and richtea to check with BA at concert if he has a diary slot free for us to pop round and take measurements for the doll. My diary can be cleared at short notice.

Richtea19 · 10/11/2014 22:22

Oh yes, we need to get measurements! I do have a mini tape measure (cracker gift) but probably not wholly appropriate to lunge at him at charity carols. Also feel we need to this task together, really to make sure that we double check each other's measurements, don't want to make any mistakes ;)

orphan · 10/11/2014 22:26

I think SPO should just wear the gloves anyway - no need for explanations. Wear them with confidence!

monopod · 10/11/2014 22:26

orphan and richtea thank you for your kind words earlier and sorry for my self- absorbed wobble! Have got my perspective back this evening and have taken the advice to just read this thread and let all the laughter make me feel better! You are all utterly loony and I love you for it Grin

Just had hilarious image pop into my head of BA at carol concert looking like deer caught in the headlights when he realises the mad throng of women heading towards him with CJ calendars for autographs plus trusty measuring tapes.

Ilovelblue · 10/11/2014 22:27

SPO I guess if you do have some Christmas activities in the office, you could use the games they all did at the beginning of episode 3. The bit where CJ says "You're off on a two week holiday so have some human decency and put some bloody effort in!" So long as you don't do the Smurf dialogue about the mile high club!! That could be taking it a bit far in an office environment.

I really need to stop watching this but just about to come up is the Coco Pops scene. Oh those wrists!

Smurfingreat · 10/11/2014 22:27

I have a laser measure in my handbag but that would clearly be shite, the more hands on the better.

Thanks SPO I expected nothing less of you. Definitely put the ignorant cockwombles up on a charge next time.

monopod · 10/11/2014 22:27

And SPOfficer I salute you for going above and beyond on your commitment to OG worship, and for giving me some great laughs this evening which I really needed!

orphan · 10/11/2014 22:31

Surely a minitape measure won't be sufficient?! And yes, I def need to double/triple check your measurements. Better safe than sorry.

pixieg1rl · 10/11/2014 22:35

Can you give them latrine cleaning duties for such insubordination SPO?

orphan · 10/11/2014 22:35

Yes monopod could be very scary, particularly if they're the sort of tape measures that are quite rigid and flick out at the press of a button.

SPOfficer · 10/11/2014 22:35

LTBA ah should have asked for advice in the birthday card! Stressybird hold that image I think it is probably pretty accurate. Orphan think I do have some big gloves down the shed. Richtea we do sometimes have dress down days but I tend not to participate (staff often say they think I wear my suit at weekends!) So turning up in a lumberjack shirt is likely to generate comment. Think I could manage a lean and a grin without falling on my face. I also open a good door, and being fairly tall and DW fairly short I think she could pass under my arm without knocking her woolly hat off......hmmm food for thought.

orphan · 10/11/2014 22:39

SPO am feeling this could be the one... Smile

Richtea19 · 10/11/2014 22:42

I do have a a regular sized "soft" dressmaking tape measure, we wouldn't have the rigid flicky issues that you would get the with normal tape measure. But because it's not stiff, we would definatley need two people, one on each end, wouldn't want to mess it up!

cherin · 10/11/2014 22:43

Please stop!! DH is starting to look for numbers of emergency shrinks....I am laughing like an idiot at the idea of the poor deer (stag only!) with tape measures trapped in his antlers. It's now sure that if BA or any of his friends reads this, he'll pull a sickie and miss the concert. If needed, he'll apply to a fast track lumberjack course back in a Canadian forest. Anything but risking meeting us!!!

cherin · 10/11/2014 22:46

(I can't literally leave the kitchen. Fits of giggles, I risk bursting out near DS door and waking him up!)

Richtea19 · 10/11/2014 22:51

Yes must stop, also getting strange looks from DH and really don't want to have to explain the whole tape measure issues! He thinks I'm bonkers anyway let alone me explaining our CJ doll!

monopod · 10/11/2014 22:51

orphan I PMSLed at your rigid and flicky tape measure. Was that a euphemism?

I haven't told DH what I'm reading but he is looking at me v suspiciously. Also because I have been reading far too much risque fan fiction and getting v wistful as a result I have been trying to be all enticing and irresistible and rather than having the desired effect DH has just looked at me weirdly, said you are bonkers and gone back to researching alarms on the internet Hmm

orphan · 10/11/2014 22:53

richtea you're right, I think soft tape measure is the way forward. I hate to think of the potential injury we could inflict on BA with a flicky one...

cherin · 10/11/2014 22:54

Same here! But for the alarms. I think he's looking at tablets. But he may still surprise me with a build-your-own MD figurine. There is always hope. Then we could spend hours playing with them (letting the kids fending off for themselves)

orphan · 10/11/2014 22:55

monopod for some reason that sort of tape measure sprang to mind Wink
