He is obsessed with Fireman Sam...its his birthday next week and we have got him a whole fireman outfit for that. Im just being mean and not wanting him to have it early.

A onesie will be fine...he will be all cute and cuddly!!

I think the CJ doll should have a headpiece as well...was that on the list of add ons??

cherin · 10/11/2014 13:11

A clicking pen for nervous situations?

Let me go back a few steps- we may already have dissected the scene 2500 posts ago, apologies if that's the case. Episode 1, when Molly chickens in the ditch, and smurf gets all aggressive and shoots at the compound. When I first saw it, I thought I was pretending to see someone so that he could make massive fire cover, and persuade Molly to run back. But is that true? Was he just firing to let the anger/stress go? Because he gets blamed for it...

cherin · 10/11/2014 13:12

(Sorry, HE was pretending...I have never been in a ditch ;-)

orphan · 10/11/2014 13:14

Just checking in over lunch.

pleasedontask hello! Yes, I feel this thread is the equivalent of an Open University course and we're nearing PhD level. Unfortunately, a lot of our study is theory based; I would really like the opportunity for some practicals as I feel a real hands on approach to the subject matter would be beneficial. However, CJ/BA has issued a restraining order against us...

icemist you never fail to deliver on inspiring photos. His mouth in photo 2 is the stuff dreams are made of

orphan · 10/11/2014 13:26

cherin I think it was a combination of the two. He was very hyped up and wanted an excuse to open fire, but also saw he could aid Molly. Doesn't he say something like "No one's coming out of there alive," almost to himself after all the firing, which suggests he wanted to kill, but I don't actually think he'd spotted anyone. CJ and everyone else couldn't see anything.

Richtea19 · 10/11/2014 13:33

I love the Under 5s Activity Book, so cool. Another way of bringing our obsession into RL! Oh how I wish my boys were younger, I remember the dressing up days fondly. My eldest went to an 18th birthday party a few weeks ago in fancy dress. We weren't very creative, as took the advantage that it was Halloween and went to the pound shop for inspiration. There was a boy dressed as Jimmy Savill..... Slightly concerned!

Ok, Molly and Smurfnin a ditch. I think there was an initial shot at them, as they said the insurgents were firing at the femail? But I think Smurf did go a bit bonkers firing massive amounts of rounds. About to have lunch so will watch Ep1. Purely for research purposes Cherin ...

Rhubarb01 · 10/11/2014 13:33

Thinking about that scene, for the first time I feel a little bit of sympathy for Smurf getting annoyed with Molly when CJ pulls him up on his behaviour. Although, I agree that part of his behaviour was lack of control, he has also covered for the fact that Molly lost her nerve (understandably) and I don't think she wants anyone else to know about it. She stays tight lipped when CJ questions her about Smurf (blisters!!) to cover his behaviour and hers. I suppose Smurf might feel justified in feeling a bit hard done by even if his retaliation is unfair.

orphan · 10/11/2014 13:49

Just had my quick tumblr fix: screenshots from ep 2. I've said it before but it pays saying again - CJ can really wear a belt well. It's very important that the doll has similarly low slung belt!

I hope klipdoctor is working on the next part of the 'missed me' story. I loved the first chapter, even more than the diaries, and need the next installment.

Nickel45 · 10/11/2014 13:49

Just checking in after doing a practical first aid course this morning. Tried really hard to find an excuse to say "might gonna need a stitch in that" but only managed "direct pressure, put direct pressure on that". Not sure it was wholly appropriate, and the bemused look of my 'patient' didn't help, but had to be done.
SPO looking forward to hearing about your day, would love it if my boss started using OGisms!!!
cherin I will be trying your morning techniques on my brood tomorrow. My DD is already insisting on watching "the soldiers" at bed time (what can I do, it helps her sleep, would be a mean mummy I say no!).

Richtea19 · 10/11/2014 14:19

Cherin, homework re. Smurf in ditch.. Initial shot from contact left, 4 shots single shooter. No one had eyes on though. Molly panics and so she can get out, smurf says he can see contact ahead and going to shoot the tossers! Now Molly F*ing run!

I can now watch the blisters scene!Wink

Richtea19 · 10/11/2014 14:24

Oh and firing to let Molly go but in think also got a huge kick out if

monopod · 10/11/2014 14:24

Sorry to detract from the light hearted tone... I need some therapy; I've been living in a parallel reality since OG and it's making me seriously unmotivated about my job :( The OG soundtrack and periodic catch-ups on this thread are keeping me going!! Life is short; need to keep pushing the comfort zone and get out and do different things, work against expectations and push boundaries. Feels like rebellion in my 30s...

Fantastic Icemist. It would certainly make your day at work better looking at them. Where did you get your pictures from - were they screen grabs or from the Internet?

snumpy · 10/11/2014 15:49

PS - I'm well jell!!! Grin

icemist · 10/11/2014 15:49

Smurf in the ditch- he never saw anyone, he fired to take the attention away from Molly. Even CJ says 'I didn't see anyone'

I have been lurking for a while and wanted to join the conversation you are all having; you have all made me smile on many occasions keep up the good work.

Face touching... (spoilers if you haven't seen the first film)

Not sure if it has been mentioned before, but in the first film when she is on leave she sees Artan and he is telling her she has to marry him she says to him 'you don't get to touch my face anymore' then when Smurf tries to touch her hand and face she rejects him instantly. The fact that she accepts Charles touch both hands and face say more to me about how she feels for him than anything.

Just wanted to share and discuss :)

icemist · 10/11/2014 15:52

mixture of both, I have one of the hand holding in the rosabaya scene. Will live in my desk drawer till Jan but I can have a sneaky look if need be Grin

icemist · 10/11/2014 15:56

Ooh, I had not noticed that Scrappydew I think holding someone face especially like CJ does is quite intimate. I don't think she was a touchy/feely type of person. But she lets CJ, in just like he does with her. I love how he touches her face to show he cares about her. Its cute

monopod Sad sorry to hear you're feeling so down about work, but glad this thread is therapeutic in some way! I think quite a few of us have reassessed our lives in some way due to the CJ effect.

Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dreams 'was on the radio in the car and the lyrics really rang a bell:
You make me feel like I'm living in a teenage dream
Yes, you CJ, you're to blame
(Ok I might have gone a bit off piste on the second line, but I do seem to have reverted to a teen)

orphan · 10/11/2014 16:10

scrappy like that a lot. Might just have to watch the faceholding/forehead touching scene again...

orphan · 10/11/2014 16:13

icemist that's a mighty fine calendar. Will certainly make pencilling in appointments more fun.Smile

definitely and I use my calendar a lot in work....

just realised I actually haven't watched a full episode since Friday's marathon. have watched some clips etc but not an episode. Thats progress really, although I do have an urge now to check out the face holding situation, purely for research purposes Wink
