Funnily, in Lark rise his love rival was Matthew McNulty, the scottish guy that plays the trainer of Molly in series1! :-)
(And I thought at the time that the scot was by far the nicest!)

icemist · 29/10/2014 21:09

watching Ep 3- love, love this episode

major drool

mandy214 · 29/10/2014 21:29

My day today. Snatch 10 mins at breakfast to myself - check MN to see if I've missed any late night / early morning insight or photos into OG.

Pop out for sandwich at lunch and have a quick play on Twitter (account set up last week to keep upto date with OG writer / actors and have no idea what I'm doing). Stumble across my new employer (started a week ago) and 'followed' it. Main cheese at new employer follows me back. Realise that of the 8 or so people I follow, it is the Our Girl actors / writer and the BBC. No-one else. Spend 5 mins desperately trying to follow other people so I dont look ridiculous.

Wait for train - do a quick search of OG fan fiction and realise smutty great story from last week has another chapter. Let out a little shrie of delight. Love my train journey home but worry slightly if anyone can see over my shoulder cos it is a little bit graphic.

Now back on MN and might watch Ep 3 again before bed.

Think its fair to say obsession is not fading Blush

Lol mandy I did exactly the same thing on Twitter-I found some Holby people and Ben from X factor as well so it didn't look like I was completely obsessed with OG

I'm taking the boys out tomorrow to try and ease off my stalking interest on twitter of BA

then work on Fri and Sat but DVD arrives Mon and BA is on radio 1 breakfast- so not sharing that on twitter for a gazillion teens to turn up to see him-

mandy214 · 29/10/2014 21:42

Glad I'm not alone Smile

icemist · 29/10/2014 21:44

I keep following people he follows- its too easy to do it on my phone. All I do is type B on my laptop and it brings up his name. I'm gonna have to clear the history I think.

Feel free to follow me on twitter, I do post other things apart from BA/Our Girl Grin think my twiiter name was on last thread

Nickel45 · 29/10/2014 21:47

Larkrise was good but I seem to remember wanting Laura to get Fisher Bloom! Obviously Daniel thingy not the same caliber as CJ ... Or maybe it is the uniform? ... Or just the fantastic chemistry with LT.

BA definitely improving with age though :)

ihearttc · 29/10/2014 21:50

icemist will follow you :-)

Need to sort out a picture as well !

Richtea19 · 29/10/2014 21:53

I remember him in larkrise but thought he looked a bit young fresh faced. Better with a bit of stubble!
Watching Ep 3 still a favourite, couple of screen shots before bed!
Also added to Twitter, all bbc radio channels and london theatres, just in case any BA interviews or forthcoming g productions!

I think I've just followed you on twitter icemist. You have swelled my followers to 3 I think Grin

Ilovelblue · 29/10/2014 22:35

Not been able to look on here all day and this is my first opportunity. Just to say I have emailed Chris Evans (again), Graham Norton (again) and Simon Mayo (for the first time). Not hopeful of getting a direct response but it may kickstart them into looking at MN, Facebook and Twitter if they haven't done so already. Also mentioned that even though they were aiming at a younger market for the series, there seem to be plenty of people mainly women we know who were very taken with all episodes, and not just because of Ben though as we know, he is a big draw.

Watched episode one whilst making tea tonight and then had a sneaky re-run of the best bits of #5 just now. How, ten days after the series ended, am I still finding new little things I've previously missed?

Interesting theme earlier today about the different uniforms by the way.

Oh and I read the second instalment of Laurielove's fanfiction. Wow - was having a hot flush by the end!

SPOfficer · 29/10/2014 22:38

Just checking in after a busy evening at home. DW had me doing some DIY so this is the first chance I have had since lunchtime to see what has been going on. It never ceases to amaze me how erudite and eclectic this thread is (had to look up both these words to check the meaning). We have ranged from favourite phrases to life changing decisions to BA as a little boy!

Anyway, have just sat down to watch last Saturdays Doctor Who and I am pretty sure that Smurfs mum was in it! This got me thinking about OG/ Doctor Who cross over. Molly does talk about travelling back in time and wanting to have a TARDIS. My question is if you had a time machine and could travel back to any episode what would you change about it?

Personally I would get CJ to tell Molly about his wife and kid when they have the (unseen) talk between ep 3 and 4 and agree to wait out.

ihearttc · 29/10/2014 22:40

Ive just followed 2 of you on Twitter I think but Im still not 100% sure Ive got the right people??

OP posts:
Ilovelblue · 29/10/2014 22:43

SPOfficer - yes, he was hardly an officer and a gentleman really over that was he? However, having once years and years ago been out with a man who I had no idea was married (and it came as a big shock, just as it did to Molly though let's just say we had got beyond a first kiss stage), I made sure I found out a bit about whichever man I was going to go out with. I find it hard (as has been said on these two threads already) that during the six months or so, she had had no inkling he had been married (albeit now divorced, but with a child). Very surprised she didn't ask around very discreetly. If Smurf knew, then presumably at least some of the others did too.

Richtea19 · 29/10/2014 22:45

Icemist think I have followed you on Twitter and maybe few others, not really sure??
Must put all devices down and go to bed... With my OG dreams, not surprised its all I dream of, all I seem to be doing these days! Not getting anything done??????????

PassTheCremeEggs · 29/10/2014 22:51

Just watching episode 5 again. Remembering how much I love his smile when she comes back to his hospital room for the second time - his genuine happiness at seeing her looking through the window.

Rhubarb01 · 29/10/2014 22:52

I think I would change the scene at the end of episode 3 when Molly starts walking out behind CJ towards the sheet and decides to have a little "quality time". Much as I love the programme I really don't like that scene because it just seems so unlikely and implausible. I wish TG could have thought of a different way for the characters to have that chat maybe at the hospital after Sohail has been evacuated there.

orphan · 29/10/2014 23:11

I second that PassTheCremeEggs . Again, seems so natural and real.

IssyStark · 29/10/2014 23:19

rhubarb have to agree with you re the sheet scene. Plus the acting in the hospital scene was a bit scenery chewing.

CremeEggs I watched the BA series of Larkrise last week. Def. Sunday evening family viewing akin to Darling Buds and Last of the Summer Wine. Not my usual cup of tea but charming nevertheless.

IssyStark · 29/10/2014 23:35

jcscot I'm afraid I have to disagree with you about the relative class of EB and Darcy (with my 18thC historian's hat on). Georgian's had a different view of society to the predominately tripartite class view we have today, in fact the Georgians didn't even think about classes but of rank. Most viewed society as a continum linking the lowliest peasant through the ranks to the king and then to God. Each link is this great chain of being was subtly different from the one above or below; moving one link during your life was expected but moving several was not. The increasing cult of politeness and gentility in the second half of the 18thC only led to people clinging more firmly to to nice distinctions of rank. Although EB calls on the precepts of the very same cult of politeness and makes her claim to gentility as equal to Darcy's, she is doing do in the abstract. The reality is that she is the daughter of a relatively percunious, minor squire whereas Darcy is the grandson of a duke. He may only have £10k a year (I agree not a huge amount compared to a peer, where even the poorest would be bringing in c. £19k) although that is still likely to be an order of magnitude more than Mr B, but the distinctions in their rank would be plain and obvious to their contemporaries.

IssyStark · 29/10/2014 23:37

Apologies for hijacking the thread to discuss the finer points of Georgian rank and class. I got a bit carried away!
