mandy I'm desperately trying to work out which scene that's in when he says "we're nearly there" but I'm ashamed to say I can't despite almost knowing it word for word it seems!!

I would love to see that photo. What if they were caught by the camera looking at each other? Not a very professional start to the tour.

Today my dad mentioned that he was going to a meeting in Newport and I smiled inside.

Its the funeral, she says shes taken his advice and is going on tour, he says she needs to sort her world and everything in it, okay. Then you see Molly in her mirror at home taking off her uniform (cap) and you hear Capt James says 'we're nearly there'

Ahh yes of course... It's because you can't see him that's what confused me cause I couldn't recall seeing him saying that.

Will rewatch it again...any excuse!

There's a cute little bit in the coco pops scene that I think is more the actors than the characters - CJ goes to take another spoon of cereal and drops a bit on his hand, watch Molly/LT's expression as she kinda laughs that he's done it, but that carry on with the scene and it just kind of blends in as part of the flirtation.

Also, the singing in ep 2 is a great one to try and pull apart. They obviously shot it at least twice because the looks they give each other and the dancing/movements aren't in sync with the song. But in both takes her embarrassment/discomfort is there.

The first cute bit I noticed is on the line when he sings "when you knock on my door baby" LT/Molly just kind of laughs of him - that can be read so many ways in CJ/MD fiction and real life! (I really have watched this too much!!!)

Then towards the end when she can't take her eyes off of him he's biting her lip either in flirtation or embarrassment of being onstage and having to sing. Either way I think it's so cute, that scene could go on longer for me!

I noticed that bit as well in the CoCo pops piece. He drops some onto his hand doesn't he?

I need some pointers to find some decent fanfiction... There is so much and I can't plough through it all!

There are a couple of scenes where you notice its not quite synced when you've watched each scene about 50 times but I am ignoring them for love of the series overall. And if I'd just watched it once like most normal viewers I'd never have noticed them in a million years. The singing one is an example actually, when she goes to sing the line "I gave you my key" she holds his wrist as he points the microphone at her, but then when you see it from another angle, she's not holding his wrist.

It's a little disappointing that the errors are there. Filming finished round May so they've had time to perfect it. I think the biggest error is obviously the boot/limp on wrong foot! Others I can forgive!

Can study drool in greater detail tomorrow evening as hubby is out. I'll have to smuggle my calendar to work lol!

I can't believe that no one realised the cast was on the wrong foot?? Really? But I agree, everything else doesn't matter :)

I'm not really picking holes in it, I just like when the actors obviously have a genuine chemistry. A chemistry that allows this stuff through. That a director/editor likes the scene regardless of whether it's perfect; to them it's more important that it feels real.

And to be fair they probably never expected us to watch each episode as if we were going to have an exam on it Grin

Just managed to check in after getting my youngest to sleep and boy has there been a lot of activity - including a change of address!

You have nailed the best lines. My only humble offering is when he says that he needs her 100% by his side and she confirms she is so vehemently that he seems taken aback and tells her to go and read her letter. She then walks off but does that oh so cute look back (steady man)

As the sole man I should also give you a few of my favourite blokey lines. The cockwombles one is of course a stand out but I also really like the couple of scenes where he is giving out mail. In the first he asked one of the soldiers to take over but not to piss about because 'I am the only one allowed to piss about'. Makes me laugh every time.

That makes me giggle too SPOfficer shows the good rapport CJ had with his section and how hard it was probably for them all having Molly brought in after they had spent so much time together with a different medic

SP I saw your post earlier about the Captain's Log - I've followed that too and there was another chapter tonight.

I think some of CJ's best "banter" lines are when Molly asks him if he's really secured Prince Harry for them and does a funny point and says "ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies". And I love when he challenges Sohail when he won't make chai for Molly and he says "for a female?" and CJ says "well, we let them drink tea where we come from". Makes me smile every time Smile.

Ok... I have watched episode 5 yet again tonight and I have come to the conclusion that the bit I love when he says "what's funny " is actually unscripted like me and creme egg felt. I think Lacey was actually laughing at BA and then he says "what's funny ?" and they carried on filming that little bit. His whole tone of voice seems different and I bit more real if that makes sense.

Oh and I watched the "we're nearly there " bit as well a few times tonight and I'm pretty sure he does say "we're" rather than "you're"

Phew, found you again. Might gonna have to have had a pint with some RL people and you all disappeared!

Oooooh, a jealous CJ. Beer consumption has done with clever or insightful comments this evening.

I tried a sneaky connect earlier with my totally lovely 23 year old beautician. She mentioned someone was a bit of a dick, I said that I preferred the word cockwomble. She pissed herself laughing and said she was going to steal the phrase, but no recognition whatsoever. Oh well, keep trying....

A lot has been said about the chemistry in the restaurant scene and I agree that it was very well played. It almost feels as if the actors are trying not to laugh during the early parts of the scene which lends a realism to the situation.

Favourite lines are many of those previously mentioned but I also like the moment in episode 1 after Molly has risked her life being winched up to the helicopter with Smurf and CJ has told everyone that she has disobeyed an order and put her life at risk but adds under his breath "It was also f*ing awesome". I just the like the look of disbelief and admiration as he appreciates what she has done.

I watched episode 5 tonight too. One thing I noticed was when Molly arrived at the hospital in Birmingham Smurf said 'the operation last week hasn't done the trick' which does firm up the timeline a bit for me.

I was pondering Charles and Molly after the Army - an NGO in Afghan maybe? Charity work? Expedition medicine training or survival skills company?

I haven't read the scripts yet but I didn't realise there were so many directions in them. Sounds very interesting. Really want a look now! Could someone link to them again or tell me where to find them? Sorry to be a pain but thank you! Smile

Nice suggestions Lyndie, not sure the BBC will go for it as it's supposed to be an army drama, but loving ways to keep Molly and CJ together and doing something interesting.
