To be fair all we know about Molly's dads background is that he fitted Sky dishes until he fell off a roof, then got depressed and turned to alcohol. Then the poorly conceived plan to put a nail gun through his hand! They might have had an ok income before all that.

Just had a thought - how gutted would Rachel have been that she wouldn't get to inherit that house? Grin

I can relate to Molly although my background was somewhat different. I feel wistful that I didn't take the bull by the horns and do something... Anything and been brilliant. Of course then I may not have my fab brood.

Also can relate to Belinda, lots of dcs although she has nearly twice as many dcs as me and again I lead a very different life jn some ways. But when Molly spoke about her mum being to knackered to do the washing (in the pilot) it rang a bell with me, worn out mum of many.

Allow me a digression into treacherous territory here (got the feeling plenty of you are much more knowledgeable of literature than me ;-), but...I think the most successful or recognisable love stories, either in books or in movies, are the ones that show "love in the face of differences". Differences being real or perceived doesn't really matter (I mean, Romeo and Juliet were neighbours and same age, after all!). The love story between CJ and Molly is no different. Love strikes and when it does, you are virtually naked in front of someone else. Doesn't really matter how expensive/ragged your clothes usually are, but you're raw and vulnerable and you are essentially a Human begging someone else to love you, as naked as you are.
Most plots of most romantic stories have the same theme, just declined in different ways, to show how essentially we are all the same. Soo, that's only to say that of course we have every reason to be "romantic" because that's not only a natural, but only a fair way to be.

God, I may have messed that up...

Hope this works :)

furcoatbigknickers · 29/10/2014 20:03

I watched episodes 3 and 5 earlier. I do think the last ep could have been 2 or 3 eps. Alot happened.

I'd also forgotten how stern cj could be in action then so so gentle.

In the scene where he was shot, he kept saying sorry and look after Smurf. What a man. Swoon.

ihearttc · 29/10/2014 20:06

Yay icemist it definitely works thank you!!

Its definitely not CJ is it lol...he sounds so different.

OP posts:
ihearttc · 29/10/2014 20:08

That made no sense sorry!

I meant the character he is playing is no Captain James...he doesn't even sound like him!

icemist thanks. Although its our BA I wouldn't have looked twice at hom in this probably cos hes a shit dad!

icemist · 29/10/2014 20:12

but he's even more handsome now...or is it the army gear he wears?

till does the hand wringing if you've noticed? must be his 'thing' I'm off to see if I can find any more clips of his earlier work to check it out

icemist · 29/10/2014 20:16

That was easy enough

he sounds like CJ in this one- same speech pattern as well

ihearttc · 29/10/2014 20:19

Crikey it even sounds like he could be talking to Molly...

"Because I can't stay away. Im restless when Im not with you and confused when I am"

Yes hes better with age.... Love his lines

ihearttc · 29/10/2014 20:22

Yes he is definitely better with age although Pramface wasn't that long ago I don't think?

OP posts:
furcoatbigknickers · 29/10/2014 20:23

I think hes very different in the last clip actually.

lyndie · 29/10/2014 20:23

Hmm he's a bit choir boy in that last clip?

PassTheCremeEggs · 29/10/2014 20:28

Has anyone watched Lark Rise to Candleford? Is it worth watching?

furcoatbigknickers · 29/10/2014 20:33

Yes choir boy, not ruggard and stubbley.

icemist · 29/10/2014 20:34

nope, never watched it. I could listen to him talk all day.
Pramface was last year

ihearttc · 29/10/2014 20:35

He looks very different but I think he still sounds the same.

OP posts:
lyndie · 29/10/2014 20:35

Yes I prefer the stubble. And Army fatigues. And sweat and danger.

furcoatbigknickers · 29/10/2014 20:42

Stop lyndie drooling here

icemist · 29/10/2014 20:44

MamaMed · 29/10/2014 20:45

Lark rise is a lovely lovely series, even without BA.

He is only in the last series but is quite young in it, and I don't remember drooling over him as much, because it felt a bit wrong I think.
