A new thread for all things Our Girl as we have already filled up another thread discussing everything to do with the show.

I imagine he'll have a pile of photos to go through so probably no point writing much more? I don't know, never done this before either!!

icemist · 05/11/2014 10:24

Or "come back to me"

Right I'm sending the photo with Union Jack.

Hubby will find this absolutely bonkers. If he sends it back where the heck shall I keep it? Think bedside locker is probably a step too far

cherin · 05/11/2014 10:27

Who cares? Do what you want to do, mrs Coguar! ;-) nothing to lose!
I am now seriously considering downloading some of the soundtrack for my run, today it's freezing cold and I don't think even my vivid imagination can keep up the pretence of being in afghan bullied by a handsome captain to "stay with him". Also, my winter running jacket has not yet delivered. If you don't hear again from me today, send a rescue mission, please, I may be hibernating somewhere around north London...

Nickel45 · 05/11/2014 10:38

Thank you icemist that's just brightened up my day at work :) sitting behind a desk is definitely not my kind of bag any more, but needs must!

orphan · 05/11/2014 10:41

Ditch the family photos on bedside table and replace with CJ is my recommendation! Or what about having the photo blown up and printed on to your pillowcase...

orphan · 05/11/2014 10:43

Oh and we really need to think quick about a new thread cos it's rapidly nearing the limit. I don't think I could cope again with losing where it had gone to.

MumOfTheMoos · 05/11/2014 10:45

Neither have I but I don't think you need to write an essay. I think it has everything you need in it - given you are not a teenage girl and so 'OMG u'r so HOT!!' won't work for you!!

icemist · 05/11/2014 10:46

All ready to go.

It's made me all nervous lol. I sound like a teenager! At the age of 40 I'm sending my 1st fan letter.

Best to the breakfast dishes now

Success: I stayed focused, alert and alive. 7km. In a very crap time, but I don't care. My target is getting closer, my breathing is steadier and the wobbly bits are a tad bit less wobbly :-)
(But a jeep with a screaming soldier to my side would have definitely helped me to improve even more)

ihearttc · 05/11/2014 12:06

Crikey that new picture you posted icemist is gorgeous...swoon!!

I asked one of my last celebrity crushes for a signed picture and got one back...poor boy probably felt very sorry for me as he was young enough to be my son (yes much younger than BA!).

Congratulations on making it back safely Cherin, glad to hear you focused up and made it back in one piece. Grin

cherin · 05/11/2014 12:24

If only CJ was there, not letting me out of his sight...
(Swoons)

icemist · 05/11/2014 12:38

I did say in the note, it was the first time I had ever written to anyone to ask for their autograph. Bet he's getting loads of stuff sent to him at the moment.

Well done on the run cherin and I think if we all had a CJ in our lives we'd be running too

I hope he does reply. I'll be gutted if he doesn't...

Ilovelblue · 05/11/2014 12:39

Seldom get to read these on my PC at work but nobody around so had a quick dip in to see what everyone has been doing. Gosh, not had a signed photo from a celebrity for at least 35 years! Love reading these threads - keeps me going.

Need to "focus up" again now. Back later. Definitely no signs of any jeeps and screaming soldiers here.

icemist · 05/11/2014 12:48

Can't believe we are nearly at 1,000 posts again. Thats in just over a week too.

Thought last night he'd be great reading the bedtime story on cbeebies.

Richtea19 · 05/11/2014 12:49

Super photos Icemist, and well done for biting the bullet and sending off for autograph, so proud! Which photo did you send in the end? Great one I. Plaid shirt (looks like the shirt in the Bath scene). Pls keep us posted on progress. Did you send a SAE?

Cherin, well done for 7km,I went to the gym but didn't quite manage that distance, also ear phones keep popping out, very annoying.

orphan · 05/11/2014 12:54

Am impressed Cherin. I bet BA could make a mint as a personal trainer dressed as CJ.
icemist Am so excited about your signed photo request - feel like I've posted it!
Right back to chores accompanied by soundtrack.

cherin · 05/11/2014 13:06

richtea, orphan, I hate the gym, but I think you're right, I could be easily persuaded to do a bootcamp session with right trainer...
(Considering that 6 months ago I was puffing and panting after 2' of run, and that in the meantime I have added a stainless steel screw to my bones...those 7K feel like 17 :-)
(Girrrrlsss power! Roar!)

icemist · 05/11/2014 13:10

yep SAE included- 1st class of course. Sent the one with Union Jack.

Well its on top of buggy for school run so I don't forget it.

SPOfficer · 05/11/2014 13:30

Good for you icemist really hope you get your signed photo.

Also impressed with the fitness regimes. I have started to walk to work when I can. 30 mins door to door. Done it twice this week so far. Hope to start running it at some point. Just need to plan it out, clothes at work, time to shower etc. being a man I am not that great at organising myself!

ihearttc · 05/11/2014 13:56

Yikes only a few posts left before we need to start new thread...

SPofficer, well done! Very envious of living within walking distances from office. 30' definitely doable, healthy and also enough time to enjoy the pace/the thinking without getting bored to death. As long as you don't read this thread over the phone, which would qualify as a H&S risk!
(I read somewhere that if you keep up with something for at least 6weeks then the chances of that thing becoming a proper habit versus a temporary change are higher? Dunno...)

monopod · 05/11/2014 14:43

Loving the photos Cherin! I was just thinking that maybe what you need is one of those British Military Fitness bootcamps; don't know if they will consent to wear fatigues and shout at you from a jeep if you pay extra Grin

To my surprise and great pleasure DH has agreed to start running regularly with me! Running is not one of his things so I am all the more chuffed. Love that we are changing for the better, together Smile
