A new thread for all things Our Girl as we have already filled up another thread discussing everything to do with the show.

Ooh can I play too!

Fuel to fire - when Molly enters the FOB for first time (love that bit - gets across so well how lost she seems in a strange world)

Interlude - when she goes on R&R

Strong - end of ep 2 - her duet with CJ fades into it

Wasting my young years - during the medals parade and when she returns to afghan

An Arrow - when they're returning to the FOB in ep 2 (when CJ says he doesn't want to get out of the paddling pool for the rest of the tour)

LOVE the soundtrack. If anyone has the London Grammar album, their new single If You Wait which is on the album is excellent and in my view would have fit into OG so well. Shame it wasn't used.

monopod · 04/11/2014 20:27

Ooh yes I really like Strong too! Does anyone know where I Love You, Sleepyhead plays?

orphan · 04/11/2014 20:38

Another symptom of CJ -itis (actually, that's not a good term, sounds too much like cystitis) is definitely obsessive poring over his every move. I noticed the nervous thumb tapping when Molly returns after RnR, but of course it just made me think what lovely hands he has...

orphan · 04/11/2014 20:43

Fuel to Fire is beautiful. I love her voice.

ihearttc · 04/11/2014 20:50

Doesn't Strong play as well as he goes in the helicopter for RnR??

I know it does in the duet but I thought it did then as well.

Another vote for Strong here and Daughter. Also been whistling Valerie on and off for about 4 weeks. I also love the song they play as the vehicle convoy leaves the FOB for Bastion near the end of Ep 3. Forgive my ignorance but can someone tell me what that's called?

Beingfrank · 04/11/2014 21:13

It definitely appears more than once, but I'm not sure exactly where. In an effort to limit my obsession I have only watched the whole thing twice, although I have watched 2 and 5 a couple more times. Can I still join in even though my knowledge is so basic? I feel I am still at GCSE level whilst others are Phd!

ihearttc · 04/11/2014 21:19

Of course you can join in beingfrank...doing revision is lots of fun :-)

SPOfficer · 04/11/2014 21:23

Thanks pixieg 1rl!

firegirl · 04/11/2014 21:24

That's right, and the helicopter for RnR song is Interlude, by London grammar.

Ladies and SPO. Was soooo looking forward to an unexpected night in front of the DVD, to dissect and generally drool. The bloody thing has packed up! Not been used for a good few months now I think about it. Googled the fault and it seems a new one is probably in order. So no drooling tonight but my MN friends are keeping me going on this thread instead!

I had to organise a mini photoshoot for myself and my (male) colleagues to appear in our in-house magazine. They were all messing about and I just wanted to shout out the now famous line from episode one but when it came down to it, I just couldn't call them c*ckwombles. They would not have believed such words coming out of my mouth! A few of them have rumbled me and sussed out my addiction though.

I wrote to the BBC and told them I thought the Scott Mills interview was utter rubbish, that he ruined it for us and the local radio interviews were far better. I also said (for the third time) that they should have some TV interviews such as Graham Norton or more enthusiastic radio interviews such as Chris Evans, Simon Mayo or actually Graham Norton again but on his Saturday morning show. No idea if it's falling on deaf ears, but it's worth another go.

Whoever it was earlier this morning who commented on BA's voice sounding different, I completely agree. He sounded so authoritative as CJ but much younger and less confident in real life. Guess that's the sign of a good actor. Beautifully spoken though, and I just about forgave him for the "We was" instead of "We were".......

icemist · 04/11/2014 21:29

I love revision too!

Watched EP 3 again tonight and rest of EP2 . love how proud he smiles when the Major (is it) says Molly might be mentioned in dispatches in EP 2

IssyStark · 04/11/2014 21:36

Given the state of telly on Tuesday night (and given the large has now come back with a vengeance), revision sounds like a jolly good idea Grin
As for music, I'm fairly predictable: Strong, Daughter and Fuel to Fire. I also like the Agnes Odel track Fivefold.

firegirl · 04/11/2014 21:45

passthesherry was it you who mentioned bits of hair at the nape of his neck? I especially noticed that when he's talking to Molly in his room in Ep 4, before she goes into his cupboard.
And back to his forearms - love it when you see the shots of him holding the mike out to Molly in the duet, and when you see his spoon going into her cocopops the first time!

PassTheCremeEggs · 04/11/2014 21:51

His hands. I love his hands so much. How can knuckles be attractive?!

icemist · 04/11/2014 21:51

talk about euphemisms firegirl Wink
''when you see his spoon going into her cocopops the first time'' Blush

Grin Grin

icemist · 04/11/2014 21:52

I was thinking before when he held her hand in the 'come back to me' what nice fingernails he had....am really gonna need help!!

Richtea19 · 04/11/2014 22:01

Lovely mouth too... Ep2, piss off Dawsey and Ep5 restaurant :)

firegirl · 04/11/2014 22:04

Well, he hasn't had cocopops in bloody ages, icemist!

Ilovelblue · 04/11/2014 22:11

Love all of those you mention but another one nobody else seems to have said (maybe I am just odd) is when he sits next to her in his quarters after he's asked her if she's ever been to Bath and she says from memory this is "No but it sounds a bit sh*t". I just love the way he bends his legs! Getting all flushed just thinking about it again.

icemist · 04/11/2014 22:12

I bet he's had plenty of coco-pops now (CJ not BA... though I wonder if the sale of coco pops has increased..handy to have a box in just in case)

icemist · 04/11/2014 22:14

there are a few scenes where we see his back I love his bum in those. just like a peach

IssyStark · 04/11/2014 22:17

His hair when it's gone all cut with the heat.

firegirl · 04/11/2014 22:18

Iloveblue I like that bit too but it's more the way he's sort of looking back at her over his shoulder while they're sat there, and his smile! Would have been a perfect time for them to kiss if Smurf hadn't knocked on the door (and they hadn't been "waiting out").

And I also like the way he's sat in his chair in the piss off Dawsey scene, leaning back in it, just makes you want to climb into his lap!
