A new thread for all things Our Girl as we have already filled up another thread discussing everything to do with the show.

Actually, I might use CJ as a filtering tool for any new prospective friendships. I can whip out a laminated photo of Captain Stern Face and ask them how he scores on the Potential Obsession scale.

Thinking about it, laminated photo is a good idea...

Are they in if they lust after him? I think make them watch an ep of our girl for max effect. It could be part of the interview process?

Or just show them clips on your phone?

Amazon tells me my copy of OG has arrived - I got both the pilot and this series as I realised that I couldn't wean myself off iplayer. They have to come the only day in years where I have a work function in the evening, bloody typical.

No furcoat, phone is too easy. Laminated photo shows true dedication and commitment on my part.

My favourite songs are Stay, Strong and people help people. I love them all really. Especially as you associate them with certain scenes.

I have been bad today and watched all episodes , albeit ff-ed to CJ/MD sections. Each time I re watch I find something new. Today Ep 5 in the hospital just before Rebecca comes in, when he reaches out for her hand, he has tears in his eyes, he looks so vunrebul. My heart aches when I see that look! As you can see I'm still hooked. Also don't have any like minded friends to share with. Thank god I have all of you! (Love the idea of laminated photo!) :)

I loved Fate. So much so I bought the grey reverend album. I'm really enjoying it, not my usual taste in music at all.

Fuel to fire is good too. Music is excellent.

I bought my faves so I could listen on my way to/from work. Apparently I've listened to Daughter 79 times!!

Hello all. So jealous of you all. I've been back at work so can't take part in daytime discussions ... but! Had a fellow CJ lover moment today! Two in fact. Someone mentioned they'd watched Grantchester as I'd said there was one particular reason to watch it (yes, I'm rather fond of the hot vicar too!) and she said that he was lovely ... 'But did you watch Our Girl? The one I really love is Bossman ... Captain James ... He's ...' By then I had joined in with paroxysms of delight. We then proceeded to squeal for quite a while in a very undignified fashion (bearing in mind we're both women with kids at secondary school!). She then let me know about another colleague who also was a CJ admirer. We're everywhere!

I want someone in RL to squeal with.

Just watched episode 1 on the DVD and at the end she says f*ckmuppets - did she not say cockwombles when it was on TV ?? Get lots of things wrong and this is prob one of them!

I'm lucky that I have managed to persuade breakthemdown to watch and they have enjoyed and been up for a bit of chat!

Yup c**kwombles on the TV version. not sure why - must have been done later.

V jealous of RL CJ fans. We'll have to all watch together and Chat on here

So, in Episode 3 when CJ is walking towards Sahail (before MD joins him) he's holding something in his left hand - does anybody know what it is?

I think it might be a pen - later on when he ushers MD into his wardrobe and sorts himself out as Smurf comes in he picks up a pen as a sort of a nervous gesture.

I was wondering if that is part of the characterization of CJ; that he finds comfort in faffing. About with a pen - a bit like holding a rosary.

I shall be looking out to see if he does it again anywhere else...

I posted this yesterday forgetting that we needed time to discuss the interviews but if we are onto the soundtrack then....

I love the soundtrack but I'm so bad at connecting the track to what was happening in the scene.

Regarding CJ's nervous faffing with pens, I've noticed he also raps his thumbs on the table and stuff when he's nervous. Did it in the restaurant before Molly arrived and also when he greeted her at the gate after her R and R...

Yes I noticed the thumbs twitching when he greeted Molly after her RnR. Nice touch.

Re fave music - It has to be Stay by Lewis Watson. Love love love it - had never even heard of Lewis Watson before, but that track is gorgeous - it's heartbreakingly full of longing, and sort of makes me want to cry. I actually really like the lyrics video on Youtube that goes with it too.

Second favourite is Strong by London Grammar - every time I hear it I can see CJ's smile and wink and the way Molly's face lights up just looking at him. Sigh...

I'm checking back in after long day at work then home to a blocked toilet - lovely! Been looking forward to returning to the thread for hours. Thanks for the Solent link again Icemist - I did look this morning as I recalled seeing it but couldn't find it. I am saving listening for a suitable quiet moment later on! Too many family members around at the moment!

Oh forgot to say another vote for Strong by London Grammar here - I love it when the duet fades out and Strong takes over - it transforms what could have been a cheesy karaoke session into something incredibly meaningful. I think that is my favourite scene!
