Ps: maybe because I had surgery not long ago...but the hospital scene didn't raise my temperature at all. You can just imagine the poor chap having been transported around the globe, dissected and stitched up, not having had a bath for a week at least...yeeewggghhh....

Agree re north & south but you did actually get a passionate kiss that lasted more than 10 seconds!!

Cherin you're right about Richard Armitage's character in North and South. He was great value for smouldering repressed emotions, but CJ has it all: stern command, battling with himself over forbidden love, jealous flouncing, but also cheeky grins and flirtatious banter which I don't recall John Thornton being prone to.

orphan - I am with you regarding Smurf's oblivion where Molly and CJ are concerned. I think he was so smitten with Molly in his own head that it never occurred to him she might have her eye on somebody else, especially that somebody being of a much higher rank and also of a different social class to both him and Molly.

Men aren't as tuned in to this sort of thing as women in my opinion. When we've had affairs going on in the office, it's always been the women who've sniffed it out long before it went public.

Suggestion homework for the shrink student, then:
2014. Story about war, genre identity, conformity to status/expectations/cultural rules....actually, it turns out that its the "almost non consumed" love story that captivates the audience. And that most fiction writers describe the couple as "making love" as opposite as "having sex".

Hello Klipdoctor - saw the update to your profile for clarification. Love the Captain's Log and can't wait for the Christmas chapter don't forget the Christmas Market - its lovely!

Going back to the topic of can actors be shy (vs private), I think it's perfectly possible to be shy and an actor - not all actors are show offs (although in my experience, many are!).

I studied acting at A level and went to uni to study it (although swapped to another subject after the first year). I can be painfully shy, in that I cannot mingle at a party and I'm very much an introvert but I loved going on stage and acting. It's completely different.

Likewise, for my job I have to do a lot of public speaking and I used to write blog, which got me on telly from time to time as a 'pundit' but although I wasn't acting and I was definatley being myself, it was still a performance and I enjoyed it. But I hated the green room where I was talking 121 etc, especially with well known people.

That's all a bit about me, but I noticed the fact that BA had said nothing in the American Psycho cast video and I suspected that he found the chattiness of some of the other actors too much to compete with.

twitter seems to be quietening down too. He might be back on there in a few weeks ago- athough no doubt as soon as he tweets anything it will be madness all over again.

Just thought - do you think BA's radio interview will be filmed as well? Have looked on the radio 1 website and they seem to have cameras for some segments. What a bonus that would be if we could see him as well as (hopefully) hear him. I'm finding it hard to remember that's it CJ I'm besotted with, not BA.

So many posts I can't catch up on all of them... I'm absolutely shattered from a very tiring day in London with 2 grumpy boys!

Love that other interview-it popped up on my FB earlier and watched it whilst waiting for big boy in Nike Store!

Have managed to get next week off work- had some holidays left to use. So plan is on tuesday to pack the boys off to school and nursery and have an Our Girl marathon and watch the extra stuff on the DVD

Oh is there definitely going to be extra stuff on the DVD? I haven't even ordered it yet because I've got all 5 episodes recorded on sky but the possibility of extras might sway me!

Wow, you've been busy while I've been reading all 8 chapters of Captain's log. I would say this thread has been very influential on Klipdoctors writing- so many little touches that also appear in this discussion. Fiction stranger than Fact.

Not ordered the DVD yet- plse let us know if it has extra scenes.

Love those little interviews he's done about Molly and CJ's relationship. He seems really relaxed there.

I've really been enjoying Captain's Log and am glad to see Klipdoctor getting the praise he deserves. Unfortunately, it is illegal to officially publish fan fiction or make any money from it, unless of course it is being done through the original source, so I doubt that's what is happening. I am sure there are many fan fiction authors out there who would be very rich indeed if their works could be published. Alternatively, just change the names and publish anyway - EL James did!
