Corrie thread - still no sign of Cilla or Fat Brenda but Kim Tate on the horizon

Here we are again - a brand new thread for more Corrie ramblings.

Can't believe Cilla still hadn't turned up by the end of the last thread.

Still hoping for an enormous cast-cull. Hoping for a bomb / gas explosion / serial killer / all of the previous.

The actor who plays Owen is leaving next year so expect more Windlass/Armstrong drama (yawn!) I wonder if Owen's departure will have anything to do with his ex who is coming into the show?

Pastamancer · 22/11/2014 11:27

Is it bad that my 2yo says Steve whenever Corrie comes on?

eddiemairswife · 22/11/2014 11:58

I would really like an up-to-date map to show where every thing is in relation to everywhere else. An A-Z of Weatherfield perhaps. Where was Mary's van parked last night? There must be some kind of by-law limiting the time it can be parked on the street.

Camolips · 22/11/2014 12:32

Has anyone bought the Hello! Corrie special edition? Is it worth it?

GetTheRedOut · 22/11/2014 13:57

Well I DO feel sorry for Michelle. I'd say she's doing a good job of portraying the absolute headfuck of a DP who has totally withdrawn, won't tell you what's wrong, let's you down again and again, refuses to work on the relationship and completely stonewalls any attempt at communication. Both of them are doing a great job of demonstrating the awful effects of depression on a relationship.

Jill my magnet is my favourite possession. I would save it in the event of a fire.

Kym Marsh can't act. She can eye-roll in an overly-dramatic-and-hopelessly-unbelievable way and fold her arms in a pantomime dame sort of way, but she can't act.

DH tried to move my Steve magnet to the side of the fridge, I put it back on the front in pride of place

AnneEyhtMeyer · 22/11/2014 19:51

Shock Pasta!

I hope you put your DH back in his place too, after that!

Haven't seen this, must have a look tomorrow.

I can well believe it. I will have to get one.

Totally agree, and last night really showed that, IMO.

Pastamancer · 22/11/2014 20:23

I bought mine back in May along with a Steve keyring. My original Steve keyring was bought around 20 years ago Shock

hildasmuriel · 22/11/2014 21:04

I love the Steve magnet. I have a Hilda's duck one (true to my name) and also a Deirdrie bag.

I also have a mini Coronation Street with all the houses (just the old terraced ones) taking pride of place on my dining room mantlepiece. At Christmas I buy it a mini Christmas tree and put cotton wool on it for snow.

I liked the scenes between Michelle and Steve, felt quite touched by it but the wipers made me laugh and had to rewind it several times.

EachandEveryone · 23/11/2014 18:01

Unfinished Sympathy playing in Carla's flat when Michelle went round sobbing. Whoever chooses the music for Corrie had impeccable taste.

Ladytron · 24/11/2014 20:36

Gavin asking about Gail's financial situ and then about Audrey when told she owned the salon. A wrong'un if ever I saw one Wink

Poor Steve Sad

cocacola1 · 24/11/2014 20:47

Just noticed the cash machine has disappeard from Dev's, guess the product placement deal must have ended?

Clawdy · 24/11/2014 20:48

Monday night's episodes are for some reason often weirdly unbelievable. DD and I often say "Monday night..." at a particularly silly bit, and Mary asking Gavin to massage her back was just ridiculous! Not funny, just cringey.

EachandEveryone · 24/11/2014 21:40

The Oranges conversation was very funny.

alemci · 24/11/2014 22:15

cringing at Mary. shut up please. is Mary's mum still alive, she was referring to her in the present.

sunflower49 · 25/11/2014 04:15

I love the Steve storyline so far. Really good representation of depression.

Jill2015 · 25/11/2014 08:42

Aww, my heart was breaking for Steve last night. I hope that he can find someone who will listen. Maybe he will be able to confide in Liz once she calms down a bit. I thought it was good last week when she was giving out to him, 'you have messed up every relationship you ever had'... 'And so did you'... Silence from Liz Grin

Mary does my head in. Asking Gavin to massage her back was just too ridiculous even for her.
Andrea is a really annoying character. I wish she would just go away.

I laughed at Dev losing his nerve at the last minute and telling Julie it's two for one at the kebab shop...

ClaudiaNaughton · 25/11/2014 08:44

Maybe Gavin's getting set up for Sarah Lou's return. Need some wicked male characters now the others have gone and David has been reborn as an angel.

Jill2015 · 25/11/2014 09:38

I'm guessing Gavin and Steph could get together.

No prizes for guessing why he turned up anyway, oh Gail must have money, oh Audrey, Gail's mother owns a business, oh Gail's son owns a business... Hmm

ClaudiaNaughton · 25/11/2014 10:43

And Gail's money is from where? Thought she was lodging in her own house. Does she work anywhere?Confused

alemci · 25/11/2014 10:54

yes the depression storyline is being well executed.
