Corrie thread - still no sign of Cilla or Fat Brenda but Kim Tate on the horizon

Here we are again - a brand new thread for more Corrie ramblings.

Can't believe Cilla still hadn't turned up by the end of the last thread.

Still hoping for an enormous cast-cull. Hoping for a bomb / gas explosion / serial killer / all of the previous.

I'd like to know more about Peter's cell mate too. I think he's got potential as a full time character (with depth).

I like Peter's cell mate too, he played it very compassionately last night and I hope he gets out soon and comes to find Peter. I wonder what he did. I suppose though Michael has just played out the story of coming out of prison, not that the Street is short if jailbirds (most wrongfully convicted).

Andrea slagging off Maria for banging on. Pot. Kettle. Black.

I'm afraid when Andrea appeared on screen, my eyes and ears glazed over. A nothing character, if ever there was one.

Barry Kent! CG is brill and I for one will miss him. And Rob and Tracey - best ones in it!

On a side note I looked up CG as Barry Kent and was also surprised that Steven Mackintosh was Nigel.

Maybe Adrian Mole could come and live on the Street. Pandora could be local MP.

I think I heard that Curly is returning (or did I make it up?) Would love Raquel to come back somehow ,Sarah Lancashire is fantastic.

I thought David was quite funny last night.

No, Tracy is not leaving. Wish she was.

David was fantastic last night. He can stay. When's Kim Tate coming into it?

She arrives next month.

I like David he can can play both evil and comedy. Perhaps a Steve for the future.

So if we know Tracy isn't leaving, then she must back out of running away. Or get caught. That would be just like when fiz joined Tyrone on the run. Even looked like the same b&b

At a guess, she decides she can't leave Amy, who overnight morphed into a mini version of her.

Corrie parents seem quite happy to leave their offspring whenever it suits them, with whoever happens to be around. Just read that Fiz is going to Wolverhampton to look after Cilla(while the pregnant actress has her baby). I wonder what she'll do with Hope.

I guess Hope will stay with Tyrone. She's always in bed anyway! I know it is often unrealistic with soaps in these situations but it must be a real headache managing people leaving etc, especially things like maternity or sickness when they are coming back. It must be especially difficult when there is a run of pregnant or other actors needing short term leave as the Street has had recently to come up with scenarios to enable them to go off. The Cilla Fizz thing seems one of the better ones to me. The Deirdre one far more desperate. I do wonder if sometimes they could just get away with always being out of the room a la Tracey Barlow playing her tapes.

You have to wonder what was on those tapes Tracy listened to all those years . I'm amused at how close Beth and Tracy became, overnight. I was on a break from Corrie when Beth arrived first. I read that they stayed together, previously, or something, but until now, it was all about Beth wanting to outdo Tracy's wedding...
If they were friends, surely at some stage they would have met up in the pub or something. Deirdre's absence is very noticeable, but I agree, it must be difficult managing these things, when people need time off. I felt sorry for Ken, on Monday night, as he stood at the door, just before Tracy reappeared. He seemed a really lonely figure, or something.

Tracy and Beth lived together for a while. It was when Steve left Tracy and she refused to move out of the house. Steve tried to force her out by renting a room to Beth and Craig, who at the time just sat there staring with his rat.

Tracy hated Beth at first but they ended up joining forces to stop Steve selling the house, and tried to put potential buyers off.

It was Corrie comedy at it's best.

After that they were friends but Tracy was always still a bit of a cow to Beth.

That does sounds good. I had taken a break from Corrie, for a while. I think the Windasses were very much to the forefront, and there was a really grubby looking fellow who was part of their family, who I just couldn't stand. I can feel another break coming on, every time I see and hear Yasmeen or should I say YASMEEN...
I know every soap has to have new characters or it would just die away, but I really hope that family doesn't become central to it. I am picturing them moving onto the Street if Anna and Owen get turfed out of their house.

Agree I can't stand the Windasses or Yasmeen and her family. I have to fast forward those bits.

It's been a bit better the past few episodes with the Rob/Peter/Carla thing. But if it goes back to Andrea/Yasmeen/Windass I will be forced to switch off.

Totally agree, and all there will be from now until Christmas, at a guess, will be Tracy carping at everyone in sight, especially Carla, interspersed with Michael moaning about his health, Andrea just generally being a pain, and YASMEEN yelling about the community butcher shop centre.
I think I need another break from it
