Just watching it now with DH, kids gone to bed stuffed with chocolate. Anyone else enjoying this as much as I am?

I think I hate lester more than bbt. At least bbt has no emotional involvement with the people he kills where as lester has sat and watched his two wives and brother become victims of his crimes.

mileysorearse · 16/06/2014 08:13

It looks like Molly is going to get her vindication, I really hope none of her family get killed though.

slartybartfast · 16/06/2014 08:16

was nerve wracking in the cafe.
good on molly's dad though, not giving out the address,

slartybartfast · 16/06/2014 08:31

so how did the man get across the river with the cabbage, fox and rabbit?

Coumarin · 16/06/2014 08:55

Shock at Lester. I know I shouldn't be as he did kill his first wife but still, it was so calculated.

This episode seemed so much tenser than the others for some reason.

Does anyone know how many more episodes there are?

Coumarin · 16/06/2014 08:59

He takes the rabbit across then goes back for the fox. Takes the fox across and swops it for the rabbit.
Then he goes back for the cabbage and swops the rabbit for it. Takes the cabbage across and leaves it with the fox. Goes back for the rabbit and takes it across last.

Tada.

Loved last nights episode, skipping forward a year has really kept it interesting I think. I keep forgetting how bad Lester actually is and then he does that to his new wife!
Also worrying about Molly and her family.

slartybartfast · 16/06/2014 09:34

but I dont think Lester meant to kill his first wife, He just go to the end of his tether, and Bop on her head with the hammer. he was pretty mild mannered until then, what with being bullied at school by Hess - bullied by his wife and his brother.

susiedaisy · 16/06/2014 09:43

Coumarin. Well done Smile

slartybartfast · 16/06/2014 09:47

that does make sense coumarin.

Nancy66 · 16/06/2014 12:35

I'm really enjoying it. Love BBT, the scene a few weeks back where he refused to end his phone call when cop pulled a gun on him was brilliant.

Mandy2003 · 16/06/2014 12:47

He looked gorgeous as a silver fox didn't he! I've always nurtured improper thoughts about him since (probably before) he was with Angelina.

So BBT had assumed a new identity as a dentist (six months looking in skanky mouths!) in order to get close to a target for a hit, which he accomplished in the lift.

But who was the target? Was it (a) fat bloke (b) fat bloke's wife or (c) glamorous woman who seemed to be in a relationship with BBT at the beginning of the episode?

AvonCallingBarksdale · 16/06/2014 12:52

No, I think BBT had no "choice" but to shoot the lift people. He said something about how he'd worked on the fat dentist bloke for 6 months, so I think he was planning a money thing, rather than killing them all. I've really enjoyed the whole series, think MF has improved week on week.

Nancy66 · 16/06/2014 13:44

I imagine the target was the colleague's brother in witness protection that he was about to meet...he said something like 'that's 100k down the drain' i.e he won't get paid because he didn't make the hit.

Coumarin · 16/06/2014 14:11

Yes I think it was the fat dentist's brother who was in witness protection.

I liked Martin Freeman in Sherlock but I love him in this.

Re the riddle, I remember it from school. We had a teacher who would give us a riddle on a Friday afternoon and a small prize to the first few in with the answer on Monday morning. I think it was a wolf, sheep and turnip then though.

Coumarin · 16/06/2014 14:13

Is next week's, the last one?

Nancy66 · 16/06/2014 14:16

That riddle was also used in an episode of The Office - with Martin Freeman.

Next week's is the last one.

Coumarin · 16/06/2014 14:20

Thanks Nancy can't imagine it's all going to be tied up in one more episode.

I'm going to dig my Office box set out to get more of Martin Freeman's lovely face. Grin

Youdontneedacriminallawyer · 16/06/2014 14:24

Much as I hate Lester - he's an idiot! Why goad Lorne Malvo like that - asking for trouble. I just hope he gets his dues next week.

Hope there's a second series!

Girlsbrigadewashorrible · 16/06/2014 15:07

I am still shocked about the poor (second) wife...like a lamb to the slaughter. Can't believe next week is the last one? Second series seems possible to me.

BOFster · 16/06/2014 15:18

I really liked the straight choice given to Lester by Malvo- very Faustian! And wasn't Malvo sinister in the diner? "I havent tasted cherry pie that good since the Garden of Eden" Shock

Nancy66 · 16/06/2014 15:19

who's gonna die do we reckon?

Molly's dopey husband must be likely.

BOFster · 16/06/2014 15:20

SPOILER ALERT

Apparently, they are considering a whole new set of characters for series two. Which means that anything could happen next week...

Girlsbrigadewashorrible · 16/06/2014 15:21

Googled Fargo on an American site and it sounds like a second series is being made. I ordered the original film recently, it was in a box set of three Coen bros films and I'm making myself wait to watch until this has finished.

Nancy, I'm afeard for Lou, Molly's dad. He just seems too good to live, especially after that touching exchange about Gus' daughter being the granddaughter he'd always wanted. And there was something ominous too about her saying that she thought she would look cool with a limp...
