That was really sad, when Tyrion was hearing how awful Cersei had been to him as a baby. She really is a wicked woman.

IdaBlankenship · 20/05/2014 16:10

Peter Dinklage was just great in that scene with Oberyn. Made me well up a bit. Loved Bron as well, although wanted him to be more honourable, at least he bothered to visit Tyrion to tell him he was not going to help him.

Arya and the Hound also great, I hope they stay together. Quite sad at the abrupt dispatch of Lysa, she was entertainingly unhinged. Why didn't Sansa pull back immediately when Littlefinger kissed her?

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 20/05/2014 18:16

I think Sansa is starting to realise that Littlefinger is not one to upset.

anonacfr · 20/05/2014 19:26

I loved Brienne's exasperated 'the short version' when Hot Pie started telling them about Arya.

Trills · 20/05/2014 21:38

Why didn't Sansa pull back immediately when Littlefinger kissed her?

Because she was shocked and scared and didn't know what to do.

The same reason a lot of women don't do "the obvious thing" when they are (sexually or otherwise) assaulted.

That, and there is no other authority in her world. Who would she complain to? Keeping on his good side is her best chance of survival.

Tapirbackrider · 20/05/2014 22:51

That sentence made no sense, did it?

It should say - away from Stannis, and the risk of being burned alive.

Bue · 20/05/2014 23:23

Oberyn Martell

Move over, Jon Snow.

ThisFenceIsComfy · 20/05/2014 23:27

No! Bue

I saw him first, that's right, back away.

nomorequotes · 21/05/2014 10:23

I think Oberon will win but will be mortally wounded.

Scrounger · 21/05/2014 18:21

No, I like Oberon, he can't die (realise that this is a foolish thing to say about Game of Thrones).

ThisFenceIsComfy · 21/05/2014 18:38

I wish he could have been in it longer

IdaBlankenship · 21/05/2014 20:06

The same reason a lot of women don't do "the obvious thing" when they are (sexually or otherwise) assaulted.

I didn't mean it like that, and was not trying to imply that women should react in a certain way .... I was wondering at her level of awareness as historically she has been very naive of power politics and her own vulnerability -whether she didn't react through sheer surprise/fear or a real understanding of how dangerous and ruthless Littlefinger is.

Igggi · 21/05/2014 21:24

He was majorly playing with her emotions too - saying he'd killed Joffrey for her mum, that she could have been his daughter, that she was more beautiful than her mum - he was giving her hope of a better future I think than being married to another annoying boy.
Although Cersei is awful now, it must have been easy as a child to blame the baby for "killing" your mum Sad

fireandblood · 21/05/2014 21:53

Thank you tapir Gendry! I wonder when/if he will reappear. I hope him and Arya reunite but loving the double act between her and the hound, can tell he is a sensitive soul deep down :D

I am reading the books between seasons but very slowly and behind the tv series I'm only due to start book 3 after this series finishes.

Bue · 22/05/2014 10:58

ThisFence I challenge you to a fight to the death! Of course the prize will be a lifetime of playing second fiddle to the ladies (and gentlemen) of the finest brothels of Westeros...

MikeLitoris · 22/05/2014 17:09

Been on holiday so only just caught up. I enjoyed Mockingbird but saw the end coming as soon as the moon door was opened.

Loved, loved, loved Oberyn and Tyrion. Peter Dinklage is such a fab character. And Oberyn would definitely have it off me

I've just started reading book one (half way through) and finding bits of it confusing. Has Gregor Clegane not been mentioned in the TV show before this week? I assumed he had been in season one and I'd forgotten him.

MikeLitoris · 22/05/2014 17:09

*actor not character

Chopsypie · 22/05/2014 18:01

Mike - he was the night who Ser Loras jousted against when Robert was still king. He cut the head off his horse when he lost. He is the hounds brother and little finger bealish told Sansa the story of how he burnt the hounds face. Also known as the mountain who rides or the mountain.
He also appeared briefly in season 2, having a chat with Tywin at Harrenhall.

MikeLitoris · 22/05/2014 18:44

Ah yes the horse. I knew who he was but didn't remember seeing him on TV. I'm at the part of the book where Ned has just sent the men after him.

I don't think that was mentioned on the show so.perhaps that is where I was getting confused.

StudyFullTime · 22/05/2014 19:09

mike I'm at the same part as you, are you finding the book easy to follow and have you put the tv show faces onto the characters like I have ?

MikeLitoris · 22/05/2014 19:19

Yes it is pretty easy to follow but that is probably is because if the TV show. I'm sure I'd be much more confused if I had read the book first.

Im reading it and imagining all the people from the show. I'm hearing their voices as I read Grin

TucsonGirl · 23/05/2014 20:39

They've changed the actor that plays the Mountain twice! The guy who plays him this season looks nothing like the guy who played him first season.

What's going on with Littlefingers accent, anyway?

IdaBlankenship · 23/05/2014 20:54

Yes, the second Mountain was decidedly small compared to Mountains One and Three.
I don't like that they changed the actor who plays Dario (sp?) either. It confuses me!

MikeLitoris · 23/05/2014 20:59

I can't get used to the new Dario either. Just seems wrong. The original one was better imo.

TulipOHare · 23/05/2014 22:08

Oh, now I adore the new Daario. I think he is a million times better.
