Homeland 2 - Revenge of the Beards

We're running out of space on the previous thread - thanks to HalleLouja for the inspired thread title.

No spoilers please! I'm all braced for the Bearded Iran Invasion. And maybe, just maybe, tonight's the night Silent Chris will get that speech therapy he so badly needs.

And another pathetic link to those Homelanded album covers because if someone doesn't tell me what at least one of them originally was then I might well go pop.

I found it hard to see which beard it was too. It was man with thick beard, whom I think was original beardy.

Hassled · 08/12/2013 22:34

I really don't know if original and best Dr Beardy has had his leg shot off in Iraq or his face shot off in Iran. It's all those confusing pesky beards.

GypsyFloss · 08/12/2013 22:34

I think he might have been. Or it might have been the one who lost a leg. I couldn't figure them out either.

GypsyFloss · 08/12/2013 22:37

Did we Hazel? How wrong I was we were. He has turned into a very nice young man Grin

The original doctor beardie was the guy that javadi shot in the head. So no more episodes for him unfortunately.

bisjo · 08/12/2013 22:40

Two more episodes left. l like the Guardian's blog mooting (only a little bit) whether Saul is the US Javadi.

GypsyFloss · 08/12/2013 22:44

They are more alike than either would care to admit.

I hope Brody doesn't succeed . I can't bear the way Carrie thinks that the fact that he didn't do the Langley bombing means he's not a terrorist anymore.

HazeltheMcWitch · 08/12/2013 22:54

Shock Rollergirl, that is awful news.
But kudos to you, you must have been watching very closely.

here, a present for you. For us all

HazeltheMcWitch · 08/12/2013 22:56

another beardy gift

LauraPashley · 08/12/2013 23:09

Surely the one who lost his leg was the original bearded doc mchotty? As they had that conversation about him not really having a kid?

Also WHO was Dar texting? I say Javhadi??

BlondieTinsellyMinx · 08/12/2013 23:11

Javadi + Brody is a hideous combo, next week's ep will be a corker!

TreaterAnita · 08/12/2013 23:24

I was struugling to see too, but I think it was 'head Beardy' who lost a leg (he had made some quip in the car earlier about Brody being worse than his kids, hence the explanation that he'd made them up) and AN Other Beardy who got shot. Dr Beardy is safe I reckon.

I think Dar was texting Saul to let him know that Lockhart was about to be dispatched, didn't he say that he knew he was coming when he got there.

harrietfromharrow · 08/12/2013 23:24

Surely Saul cannot be bad as that would leave us annoyed and betrayed in a way that would be a step too far at this stage. Might have been okay had it been revealed in late series 1 or in 2?

Quinn looked especially luscious when he smiled at one point tonight. Sigh.

harrietfromharrow · 08/12/2013 23:28

Googled Rupert Friend and looked at the images section...my how he looked disappointingly different in all but the recent shots. Very pale and not the same in the Keira stage photos and one or two make him look positively creepy!

SabsFabulous · 09/12/2013 00:58

Sadly Hot Doctor Beardy was with Brody and got shot so is sadly no more - boo. His characters name was Turani - I got that from the Digital Spy Homeland blog.

Loving the photos of him though.

Fiderer · 09/12/2013 08:29

Great thread title Grin

Am sorry that HotDoc was killed - I knew he shouldn't have mentioned his family, the clock started ticking then.

Can't decide if CD was great in the operations room or hammy - but it was a really good tense episode.

GypsyFloss · 09/12/2013 11:11

Homeland got a mention on Radio 4's Today programme this morning . No mention of dead hot beardy men though Grin

Wow. That was more like it!

GypsyFloss · 09/12/2013 14:57

I'm catching up on the reviews for last night and am loving the Guardian's comments page. Some serious Saul doubters there too. And Mrs Saul doubters. He is the big twist I reckon.

TheDoctrineOfSanta · 10/12/2013 00:02

Gosh.

I don't like Javadi.

GypsyFloss · 10/12/2013 06:33

He's a proper natural born killer in a shiny suit that Javadi.

What if Javadi kills Brody after Brody bumps off the top Iranian honcho ? Saul has no control over what he does, mind you I'm not sure he'd really give a toss either way.

TheDoctrineOfSanta · 10/12/2013 07:03

Yeah, I'm unconvinced - they keep going on about having turned Javadi but he's only there because they blackmailed him, right??
