We're running out of space on the previous thread - thanks to HalleLouja for the inspired thread title.

No spoilers please! I'm all braced for the Bearded Iran Invasion. And maybe, just maybe, tonight's the night Silent Chris will get that speech therapy he so badly needs.

And another pathetic link to those Homelanded album covers because if someone doesn't tell me what at least one of them originally was then I might well go pop.

The ashtray was a bit Chekhov's gun as was the soap opera bit where the hotdoc mentioned his family so we know he'll die

It's all racing along plot-wise but does anyone else think they could have done less build-up and then had more time for these episodes where it now all seems rushed?

I can just about accept Carrie being in Tehran as she is supposedly the only one he listens to - apart from when she tells him to abort the mission and he duly skips over the border into Iran - but the phone? On the balcony where anyone can overhear by being on the next balcony?

He was planning on staying in Iran until she told him he was about to be killed wasn't he? Not so much out of belief but because he really had no other option, if he couldn't kill Akbari and knew there was no extraction possible.

FranSanDisco · 16/12/2013 09:15

I will be in America next weekend so how am I going to watch the final episode. I have not missed one and don't think I can cope with not seeing the final one [sob].

diddl · 16/12/2013 09:22

The final is already online.

I won't be watching today, oh no!

longjane · 16/12/2013 09:22

Fran type into google watch homeland online and you find the final one.

I thought I read some that brody son was going to have a good storyline this series . Or did it have to get scraped or put back cos the brody wife (in real life got pg) .
Just wondering if any one had heard anything.

FranSanDisco · 16/12/2013 09:23

Really Grin

stinkingbishop · 16/12/2013 09:24

I predict something is going to happen with his security pass too (had wondered if he'd use it to kill Akbarri, in much the same manner as Eddie Izzard as Darth Vader 'I can kill you with a TRAY!'). There was a loving and lingering close up of it being fastened; strange when everything is so frenetically edited as the plot speeds up...

Carrie was also looking at her pregnant silhouette, and then stood in profile when Brody was looking at her...does he know? Again, I predict at some point her being pregnant will influence someone's decision making.

TheDoctrineOfSanta · 16/12/2013 10:10

I am astonished Quinn hasn't told Saul Carrie is pregnant.

ziggiestardust · 16/12/2013 10:12

thedoctrine I thought that; how on earth will she get him out?!

GypsyFloss · 16/12/2013 10:54

Oh that was good. I am now very tempted to watch the final one though...

harrietfromharrow · 16/12/2013 11:35

It was amazing. Only just recovered!

I don't understand how Brody can ever live anywhere normally now. How she can possibly get him out etc. Brody is all over YouTube saying he is the enemy of the US and all that yet at the same time the CIA can't out that he did it all for the US and to kill the Iranian honcho as that outs their dodgy activities.

Also can someone remind me the rationale for the CIA taking such a massive risk of killing a senior Iranian. Wouldn't that practically start WW3 rather than help peace and stability?

GypsyFloss · 16/12/2013 11:53

They killed him so they can plant Javadi , who in theory is "their " man now.

I think Brody just signed his own death warrant and if Carrie gets him out and helps him escape again then I will be very pissed off. If she does then I think she ought to be done for treason.

harrietfromharrow · 16/12/2013 11:59

Ah yes thanks for that. Forgot that about getting Javadi into power.

It was pretty much a suicide mission for Brody. He has had his nine lives and it seems unlikely he will make it out of Iran and into series 4 to me.

GypsyFloss · 16/12/2013 12:08

So was Mrs Saul's bit on the side a necessary pre-emptive plot device so that they could call on the Israelis for extra pairs of hands? If so it was rather long winded.

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 16/12/2013 12:28

I predict Brody's demise with a return in series 4 as a figment of Carrie's imagination while she battles her demons as she either suffers a traumatic miscarriage or succumbs to post natal psychosis or summat like that. There is no way there is a happy ending for Brody, which ever way you look at it.

TheDoctrineOfSanta · 16/12/2013 12:31

It would make more sense to me if they'd said "look, do this, it's a suicide mission but we will give millions of dollars to your family and you will be redeemed and one day we will let the world know."

I think Brody would've done it.

Carrie, not so much!

There are masses of spoilers all over the Mail online. Don't go there if, like me, you haven't yet seen the last one. I am really cross.

VesuviusPoovius · 16/12/2013 12:56

I find it amazing that they can do last week's episode where they could see and hear in real time the whole action. .. yet this week we have to believe that there are no bugged offices or hotel rooms, no surveillance, no satellite drones, no tapped phones, no cctv Grin

Abra1d · 16/12/2013 14:39

Yes, they all seemed very happy to use mobiles.

TheDoctrineOfSanta · 16/12/2013 15:21

I think carrie had a secure satellite phone.

It would have been cool if she'd swept her room for bugs at least!

VesuviusPoovius · 16/12/2013 17:10

At the very least, not leaning over the balcony.

bisjo · 16/12/2013 17:15

The weirdest thing I thought was how did Brody know Carrie's phone number? If it is a satellite phone I doubt that the number would have come up on the phone that Brody used and even if it did he didn't spend anytime actually looking at the phone when he spoke to Carrie (unless he has eyes in his ears Grin).

GypsyFloss · 16/12/2013 17:28

I wondered that too.

I also wondered how come no-one in the crowd outside Nazir's wife's house seemed too bothered by the not very Arab looking Carrie loitering. Although I did really like the scene between the wife and Brody. I thought it was the most honest he has been for a long time.

BitOfFunWithSanta · 16/12/2013 17:33

It seems curiously insane to put Javadi, the known psychopath, in charge of the Revolutionary Guard. He won't be "their man", or "an enemy of the state" then, will he? He'll be able to do what the fuck he likes.

HoHolepew · 16/12/2013 17:45

So had Brody 'turned' and was happy to stay in Tehran and only killed thingymajig to try to stop the CIA topping him?

He's turned that much I'm surprised he can stand upright.
