This is a thread for all lovers of the daytime soap 'Doctors', BBC1, 1.45pm. All welcome, newbies, regulars, lurkers. Let me entertain you with a festive song:

The 12 Days of Doctors Christmas
On the twelfth day of Christmas
My true love sent to me
Twelve Mandy's fretting
Eleven Chris's whinging
Ten Jimmi's washing
Nine Heston's scripting
Eight Barry's peering
Seven Daniel's flirting
Six Zara's glaring
Five paaaa-tients!
Four sad Robs
Three pies for Al
Two Karens
And a tabard in a pear tree

Xmas Smile Xmas Smile Xmas Smile

The apostrophe police will have a field day with that one ^

(Private note to Kev: go on.....show me your baubles! Xmas Grin)

Disappointing banana? Was it all starchy? I hate it when I have one of those.

I am watching the Still Open All Hours special that was on on Boxing Day. It is dreadful. I have been watching for ten minutes and I haven't even raised a smile. Also, the shop seems to have moved from being mid-terrace to a corner.

MsNobodyAgain · 27/12/2013 23:28

Yes Anne, it was starchy Sad. It looked so nice but it was horrible. I had a packet of mini digestives so I finished my bedtime snack on a high. Grin

Are you being forced to watch Open All Hours? Can't think why anyone would watch it voluntarily. Mind you, I bet some people think that about Doctors.

OP posts:
AnneEyhtMeyer · 27/12/2013 23:56

I was watching because I remember being forced to watch it as a kid. I soon gave up, as it was just crap.

Yuck, starchy bananas make me want to heave. Does your mouth still feel all starchy and dry?

I should be in bed, but I am watching Cast Away now (the Tom Hanks one, not the smutty Oliver Reed one).

MsNobodyAgain · 28/12/2013 00:02

It did, but I had a can of Tango.

The Oliver Reed smutty version was better. I like Tom Hanks but that film was boring. Didn't he paint a face on a ball or something? It was awful.

Yes, Wilson the basketball.

Off to read the spoilers!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 28/12/2013 00:30

Oooh! Suitably WTF! Nerf is going to wonder what on Earth she has let herself in for!

ClayDavis · 28/12/2013 00:43

I was just coming on to say spoilers were out but you beat me to it.

Hermione looks, erm...fun.

Could you imagine if Nerf's first episode had been the panto one. That would have been enough wtf to put her off for life. It was probably the best panto ever though.

OodKingWenceslas · 28/12/2013 08:25

I loved the panto one. Dh was watching too and explaining to him makes it all the funnier. He likes Heston stories. he's going to join here if I'm not careful

Off to check spoilers.

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 28/12/2013 09:26

I quite enjoyed the Open all Hours, it was always a corner shop. Not a patch on the original though, I used to love it.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 28/12/2013 12:43

Was it always a corner shop? I remember it as being in the middle of a terrace, but my memory is shocking so no doubt I am wrong.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 28/12/2013 12:48

Ok, just looked at Google images and yes, it was always a corner shop. My memory is atrocious.

The Christmas special was still dreadful - every "joke" was laboured. Linda Barron looked well though.

toldmywrath · 28/12/2013 14:00

Disappointing banana that made me laugh! MsNo

Been out today with the DCs. How can children find something they want to buy right after Christmas? I took their savings books and we went to the bank to get the money out to pay me back. I caused a massive queue doing this. Ooooops!

Morning all. It's Ds's birthday, and he is 11. He got mostly money, and doesn't really know what to do with it. He's pretty good at saving for things he wants (he saved for a lego mindstorms kit the other year), but he seems to have most things now.

We got him a raspberry pi for Christmas, and between the family, he has more bits for it, and cables and wires than enough. It's going over my head, so I'm leaving him and dh to it.

Having loads of problems with dd1- I think being the middle child is hitting her hard of late, and so much of this year is focussed on ds, with it being year 6, she's feeling left out. She isn't, but sadly it's how she sees it, and she is 7 going on 14, with a sulky attitude to match. I think it's hormones. It's making this week quite stressful.

They have going out to buy my birthday present for tomorrow. They are under strict instruction to spend no more than £5Grin. i hate my birthday.

Happy upcoming birthday Raahh and happy birthday to your DS. I have looked at those Pi things, went right over my head.

Middle child syndrome, oh Lordy...tell me about it. DS1 is a middle child (by all of 2 minutes seeing as he has a twin brother). DD is older but is NT and in year 6. DS2 has obviously had a lot of attention due to his past so DS1 feels really hard done to. Not surprising really.

Anyhow I could ramble on and on. Just wanted to say I feel your pain!

Happy birthday for tomorrow, Raahh.

Am a little bit Envy of the Raspberry Pi.

cinnamongreyhound · 29/12/2013 18:48

Have no idea what a raspberry pi is will have to google

Happy birthday for tomorrow Raahh, I loooooove birthdays. Hope you have a nice day even if you're not filled with joy!

Ds2 would definitely be a terrible middle child! He's a nightmare second child so with another child with demands on my attention he would be so much harder! He's very jealous of ds1 who is a very self contained child really and other than homework I do with him I rarely spend time with only him Blush.
