This is a thread for all lovers of the daytime soap 'Doctors', BBC1, 1.45pm. All welcome, newbies, regulars, lurkers. Let me entertain you with a festive song:

The 12 Days of Doctors Christmas
On the twelfth day of Christmas
My true love sent to me
Twelve Mandy's fretting
Eleven Chris's whinging
Ten Jimmi's washing
Nine Heston's scripting
Eight Barry's peering
Seven Daniel's flirting
Six Zara's glaring
Five paaaa-tients!
Four sad Robs
Three pies for Al
Two Karens
And a tabard in a pear tree

Xmas Smile Xmas Smile Xmas Smile

The apostrophe police will have a field day with that one ^

(Private note to Kev: go on.....show me your baubles! Xmas Grin)

I was banned from using my phone yesterday so didn't post! Had a lovely chilled out day, didn't get home until 11 so have two grumpy children today! Been to see frozen thanks to Clubcard at the cinema today which was fantastic! Dh was highly unimpressed that it was musical and to spend ds1's Christmas money on skylanders. Looked in next sale and managed to get dss a new pair of chinos as he ripped his Christmas Eve. We watched various Christmas music charts in the end Christmas Day and home alone 2!

MsNobodyAgain · 26/12/2013 17:27

Hi cinnamon. Do you mean 'Frozen' is a musical, as in tons of singing? Only asking because my mum usually takes DS2 to an Autism Friendly viewing at the cinema once a month. Frozen is the film showing in January.

DS2 will just about tolerate a normal children's film but I know he will kick off from the word go if it is a musical.

Will be hitting the sales tomorrow I think. Thats if I don't have to go to work tomorrow to finish off the half of Tues I didn't manage to do.

Am on the way home now. We're supposed to be changing driver but seem to have lost the new one. I really am the Jonah of Christmas travel.

ClayDavis · 26/12/2013 17:32

There is quite a bit of singing in frozen Mrs N. At leadt as far as I can remember.

MsNobodyAgain · 26/12/2013 18:47

That will be a no to the cinema then. Sigh.

Hope the driver turned up. I don't envy you. Bloomin' cold today. Brrrrrr!

Yes frozen is a musical, starts with a song and carries on with quite a bit. I didn't know until we went!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 26/12/2013 19:09

Frozen had quite a few songs, but no more than Tangled, for example.

ClayDavis · 26/12/2013 19:12

Found the driver in the end. Just waiting for taxi to turn up now. Then I'll be home. Think I've spent about 36 hrs travelling and 20hrs actually being there. My granddad was really pleased to see me so at least it has been worth it.

Anne i've just realise you forgot to mention all the home visits in your Doctors summary. You can't have Doctors without at least 1 home visit. Often more.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 26/12/2013 19:17

I thought it best not to mention the home visits, I mean I know Newt is a sci-fi fan, but the home visit thing is just stretching credulity too far! I didn't want to put her off!

I am so glad you got to see your granddad, Clay, it makes it all worthwhile.

cinnamongreyhound · 26/12/2013 19:43

I'd say tangled is pretty musical too :)

MsNobodyAgain · 26/12/2013 19:59

Decision made then. DS2 had to be removed from the cinema after 10 minutes of Tangled. Xmas Grin

I think I hid you as I lost you Shock
Sorry Blush

Very good Xmas here. Dd3 really getting it (Raah think your dd is the same age? ) , ds loved it (food and rubbish, his idea of heaven), dd1/2 weren't even too cool for Xmas
I'm also pretty sure it was one of you lot that nominated me in the MN appeal which also made a big difference this year so thank you!

anne well done on your recruiting skills and I just read your description to dh who was phsl Grin

nerf pretty right on Doctor Who and welcome to the Doctors thread. Think you might be the first person to join without seeing the show.

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 27/12/2013 14:39

The Rt for week after next has just dropped on the mat, in the first week we can look forward to Jimmi going to OCD-help classes, a wedding being disrupted by cold sores and Val getting excited. Can't wait!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 27/12/2013 15:37

Didn't they already do Jimmi going to OCD classes a couple of years ago? Where they got him eating off a toilet seat? Juuuulia took him, I think.

Ood - I will forgive you for hiding us as you have come back to the fold in time for the new year.

Haven't seen the Christmas Dr Who yet, I am looking forward to seeing the back of Matt Smith and his gurning in place of acting.

MsNobodyAgain · 27/12/2013 17:54

Jimmi eating off a toilet seat!

ClayDavis · 27/12/2013 18:05

Starting the new year as they mean to go on then. Grin

'Oh we need to find a story for Jimmi. What can we do? I remember. He has OCD. We haven't done that for at least 4 months.'

What's happening with Howard's bulimia? Or are we forgetting about that for a while? What about the newts and the superpractice? There seem to be an alarming number of loose ends that haven't been tied up.

Since it's Doctor's I'm not holding out much hope.

Raahh · 27/12/2013 20:50

Aww, Anne , I like Matt Smith. I think the last series was very boring though, and i was sick of lizard woman and her skivvy sidekick.

I quite liked the Christmas special. But dh and i seem to be in the minorityXmas Grin - yet we watched it sober on Boxing day morningXmas Grin

I have been to the lego centre at the Trafford centre. Dh was working, and decide we would go when he got back. It was busy, but not too bad. I did have to exchange something at the Pandora shop- the queue was about 50 yards outside the door.

Jimmi is a rubbish OCD sufferer. He seems to pick and choose when he is afflicted Xmas Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 27/12/2013 21:12

The things I read linked from the fb page said that Howard is managing his eating but food will always be difficult for him and the mega practise thing can't go ahead because of the current financial climate which surely can't have changed that much in the last month?

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 27/12/2013 21:18

Well the weather climate in Letherbridge is always out of sync with the rest of the world, maybe the financial one is just as bad.

Raahh · 27/12/2013 21:33

BUT WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE NEWTS?????????

Xmas Grin
cinnamongreyhound · 27/12/2013 21:46

They died from being dragged out of their usual environment into a strange one/they were eaten/they've made a lovely new home out of sight of any humans/they wandered back to where they came from Wink

ClayDavis · 27/12/2013 22:20

I think I did read the digital spy bit about Howard always having an issue with food. But he seems to have had the easiest cured episode of an eating disorder in history. Between him and Jimmi I'd be tempted to get on my high horse about lazy writing about mental health issues...if it wasn't Doctors. Grin Fortunately my expectations are not high.

I NEED closure on the newts though. I reckon they've cross bred with some of the local wildlife and hundreds of mutant creatures are waiting to take over Letherbridge.

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 27/12/2013 22:24

Yes, I don't get so cross with lazy research on the ailments that the patients have because they are only for one episode, but if they are going to happen to long term characters they ought to be better done. At least they've stuck with the story for Karen, even if it hasn't been comfy viewing.

MsNobodyAgain · 27/12/2013 22:37

I've just eaten the most disappointing banana Sad

Yes, the newts. It was like a storyline they started and then couldn't be arsed finishing. There is more consistency and continuity with the red footwear they have Al wearing.

I wonder when the spoilers will be on Digital Spy?

OP posts:
ClayDavis · 27/12/2013 23:01

I'm not sure they even started the newt storyline. They'll probably finish it in about 5 years when they need a storyline and remember they released some newts years ago.
