This is a thread for all lovers of the daytime soap 'Doctors', BBC1, 1.45pm. All welcome, newbies, regulars, lurkers. Let me entertain you with a festive song:

The 12 Days of Doctors Christmas
On the twelfth day of Christmas
My true love sent to me
Twelve Mandy's fretting
Eleven Chris's whinging
Ten Jimmi's washing
Nine Heston's scripting
Eight Barry's peering
Seven Daniel's flirting
Six Zara's glaring
Five paaaa-tients!
Four sad Robs
Three pies for Al
Two Karens
And a tabard in a pear tree

Xmas Smile Xmas Smile Xmas Smile

The apostrophe police will have a field day with that one ^

(Private note to Kev: go on.....show me your baubles! Xmas Grin)

What, even bans the Queens Speech cinnamon? Xmas Shock

It has been a long afternoon with DS2. The biscuit, milk and carrots for Santa and the reindeer have been out since 2pm. Reindeer food was sprinkled on the lawn about 2 minutes later and he's just made me turn the fire off so Santa doesn't get burnt!

He wants to go to bed NOW. I wouldn't mind but he hardly bloomin' sleeps anyway so there is no way I am letting him go early. I'll be up at 2am if I do.

So nice to see him getting into the spirit though. DD and DS1 are taking it in their stride.

Yep, but I don't mind about that though I'm not a royalist.

cinnamongreyhound · 24/12/2013 18:16

Good luck keeping him up MsNobodyAgain!!

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 24/12/2013 18:30

My mum insists on the Queen's Speech but none of the rest of us are interested. Christmas Day telly is tricky as we never all want to watch the same thing (same as the other 364 days of the year).

MsNobodyAgain · 24/12/2013 18:41

The chances of me even seeing a TV tomorrow with 12 people in a small living room are zilch. I will probably end up sat on my brothers knee as there aren't enough seats to go round Xmas Grin

OK, I am going to be the ultimate saddo and post on Christmas Day Xmas Grin.

Clay and anyone else, I hope you got to where you needed to be today.

I hope you all had a pleasant and drama free Christmas. Yes, I know it is not over yet but I am the type that takes the Christmas tree down on 27th December. I like my home restored to normality asap.

I'm here too. Just been watching Downton and very confused Confused. Yes, hoping everyone had a safe, dry, day with their loved ones.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 25/12/2013 22:59

I'm here too!

First moment to myself in what feels like days. Everyone is in bed now and although I am completely exhausted I just had to have some quiet time!

Hope everyone had a safe and lovely Christmas and had no travel or power disasters. The news made it look awful for some areas of the country.

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 25/12/2013 23:03

I'm feeling fortunate tonight, various friends very near here have had no power for the last 48 hours and some of the floods aren't far away either, I would not have been able to get to work yesterday if I had been due in. Well, would have had to do a 10 mile detour. DCs went to bed about half an hour ago and I'm about to follow them, although I might watch Corrie in bed.

Raahh · 25/12/2013 23:04

yay! I nearly posted earlier but got a drink instead . I had a good day, everything went well. I am grateful for better anti-depressants- a couple of months ago, I would not have got through the day.

So happy christmas, my Doctors chums.

I am very merry, and catching up on 'Call the Midwife' . Whilst chanting 'not broody' and remembering I was sterilised for good reason.

Xmas Grin

Tomorrow, it's Christmas part 2, at my dad's. Then onwards to ds 's birthday. and mine

Okay can I ask if my summing up is right?
The crack in the wall - recurring theme?
David tennant asked to give name in a previous episode?
Problem with having more than 12 doctors bubbling over for ages?

Gallifre prev destroyed but then not destroyed as per 50th episode recently so actually doctor no longer homeless?
Conveniently, Clara gets prev time lords by shouting thro crack in the wall to make it okay to have more than 12 doctors hence cap aldi?

I'm sorry. This the 'Doctors' daytime soap thread- not the Doctor Who thread. And I haven't seen the special yet. But Ood may be along to answer your questions.

(see, posting 'off-season' is confising people) Grin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 25/12/2013 23:26

I think you have the wrong Doctors thread, Nerf.

Please do join us though, as we discuss a fictional GP practice in the West Midlands with a disturbing lack of patients.

I'm sure you would love it, although it is a bit more far-fetched than Dr Who.

Raahh · 25/12/2013 23:29

Grin Anne recruiting on Christmas day- MsNo will be proud Xmas Grin

Nerfmother · 25/12/2013 23:32

Hahahahahahahaha Grin
Okay, tempt me? Up for increasing my rubbish tv addictions at any time.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 25/12/2013 23:44

Oh Nerf you would love Doctors!

It is truly great*. 1.45pm, BBC 1 (not on over Christmas or during Wimbledon). Set in fictional Letherbridge, on the outskirts of Birmingham, a small town where everyone seems to know everyone else (and their medical history) but big enough to have a university, it follows the comings and goings of a group of GPs and nurses. It has a low budget, so not many patients, but that doesn't hinder them - they just give the staff medical conditions instead.

Go on, take a peak on the 6th Jan! We will soon bring you up to speed. You don't need to watch at 1.45pm either, we all watch at different times.

We also talk about everything else amongst ourselves to make up for lack of plots at times.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 25/12/2013 23:44

Was meant to say * = not everything in the description may be entirely accurate.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 25/12/2013 23:45

Xmas Grin I'm doing my best, Raahh!

Hope you all had a good day.

Nerfmother · 26/12/2013 08:36

Ok I will set the recorder thingie for Virgin on my phone Grin

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 26/12/2013 09:40

Yay, welcome Nerfmother. It's peculiarly addictive, I got sucked in after having 6 weeks off work following an operation last year. Even if you only watch a couple of times a week you can follow the storylines perfectly well (with a bit of help from the thread).

AnneEyhtMeyer · 26/12/2013 15:25

My work here is done! Xmas Grin

curlyclaz13 · 26/12/2013 15:57

Good work Anne !
Glad you all had a good day yesterday, ours was fine but a bit rushed trying to fit visits round cooking lunch and allowing ds time to nap ! I feel rubbish today and am in pj's on the sofa. OH has taken ds to the pub Hmm. So I can relax a bit ! Next year we are staying at home and not doing visits so we can enjoy it with ds when he might enjoy it more. In random gifts OH's parents who I don't get on with have offered to pay for driving lessons for me Shock so now I suppose I have to get on with it !

MsNobodyAgain · 26/12/2013 16:19

Oh, driving lessons is a great gift! Good luck curly.

We are just slobbing at home today. I have ordered Domino's for tea as I have no leftovers with Christmas Dinner having been at Mums house.

I'll have to venture out tomorrow. I need a mooch round the sales. I've looked online but it's just not the same. I need to feel and see the stuff I don't need before buying Xmas Grin
