MsNobodyAgain · 06/12/2013 14:49

This is a thread for all lovers of the daytime soap 'Doctors', BBC1, 1.45pm. All welcome, newbies, regulars, lurkers. Let me entertain you with a festive song:

The 12 Days of Doctors Christmas
On the twelfth day of Christmas
My true love sent to me
Twelve Mandy's fretting
Eleven Chris's whinging
Ten Jimmi's washing
Nine Heston's scripting
Eight Barry's peering
Seven Daniel's flirting
Six Zara's glaring
Five paaaa-tients!
Four sad Robs
Three pies for Al
Two Karens
And a tabard in a pear tree

Xmas Smile Xmas Smile Xmas Smile

The apostrophe police will have a field day with that one ^

(Private note to Kev: go on.....show me your baubles! Xmas Grin)

I think Yvette fielding was the presenter when I first watched but I'd have to check!

toldmyhollywreath · 21/12/2013 21:32

It was just Val, John & Peter for me (I am OLD!!) My children watched when they were young, sort of remember Konnie Huq & Matt Baker & Simon someone.
Whereabouts abroad Anne ? very glam sounding!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/12/2013 21:33

Oh you must a youngster then, cinnamon.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/12/2013 21:35

Saudi Arabia, told. Not very glam, but good fun for me, as I very much enjoyed the child-expat life of swimming and playing and morning-only school!

cinnamongreyhound · 21/12/2013 21:36

Yep and Caron Keating and mark Curry. I also watched when anthea made the Tracey Island.

cinnamongreyhound · 21/12/2013 21:38

Swimming and morning only school sounds perfect!

Not feeling young at the moment but I'm under 35 so not ancient Wink

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/12/2013 21:40

My favourite was Peter Duncan - he was great. I always thought Sarah Greene was the height of sophistication.

cinnamongreyhound · 21/12/2013 21:41

I remember Sarah Greene on Saturday kids tv.

toldmyhollywreath · 21/12/2013 21:41

Blimey cinnamon I'm old enough to be your mum.
Sounds great Anne Although you must have missed out on Monty Python & other stuff then. I love Monty Python, Michael Palin my fave.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/12/2013 21:44

It was a brilliant experience, yes, I was very lucky.

I think I was too young for Monty Python or maybe just missed it being away.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/12/2013 21:46

Oh bloody hell, I might have known. It always goes to the one I dislike in any reality show.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/12/2013 21:47

She is a crap winner too. Can't keep control of herself.

cinnamongreyhound · 21/12/2013 21:48

I'm genuinely surprised at that, oh well.

cinnamongreyhound · 21/12/2013 21:49

Is Peter crouch her oh then? I'm not good with celebrities!

Raahh · 21/12/2013 21:50
Grin

I ended up with the lurgy that everyone else has had. I can't stand Abbey- but I'm glad Nathalie didn't win. I wanted Sophie to win. I think she suffered by being paired with Brendan, I've always found him annoying and a bit arrogant.

Bet natalie is gutted Grin

Raahh · 21/12/2013 21:52

Ok- strange advert for the Voice with a singing baby.

It is giving me the creeps.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/12/2013 21:57

Was the advert for the Voice? It was too weird so I turned over!

Yes, Brendan has always been an arse, I think he puts a lot of people off voting for his celebrity.

Yes, cinnamon, Abby is Peter Crouch's wife. Mind you, the way she kept trying to put her fingers through her partner's shirt buttons and kept lunging in at him as if for a snog, I wouldn't be surprised if she moves on soon. She seems very intent on achieving fame.

Are you on the mend now Raahh? And how is MiniRaahh?

cinnamongreyhound · 21/12/2013 22:00

I remember seein Brendan is some reality dating programme and he was awful, I didn't like him before that but I couldn't see any redeeming features after watching it.

A lot of them seem to end up dating/having affairs with their dancers.

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 21/12/2013 22:00

Well, by the end I wanted Natalie to win, she was far better than Abby tonight (and brilliant if very evil in Corrie).

Val, John and Peter for me too, and Petra the dog. I remember Sophie's mum pregnancy scandal but wasn't watching by then.

cinnamongreyhound · 21/12/2013 22:32

Ds1 managed to pull two teeth out eating a BN biscuit and then announced because they'd come out together the tooth fairy would bring him a £2 coin and not two separate £1 coins! Luckily ds2 had one in his piggy bank so I did an exchange. Why do we do it to ourselves?!? Here's a £1 so I can put your tooth in a little keepsake box would be much easier!

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 21/12/2013 22:40

Ha, DD managed to lose one on Christmas Eve last year so we had to welcome the tooth fairy and Father Christmas on the same night. A few months earlier both DCs managed to lose one on the same day. Keeps me on my toes!

cinnamongreyhound · 21/12/2013 22:44

Have any of you done reindeer food in the garden? Ds1 made some at school but I'm a bit worries about it still being there in the morning!

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 21/12/2013 22:50

We have been given it once or twice but just put it in a saucer outside the door, rather than on the path. I don't want glitter still there in 6 months!

OodKingWenceslas · 21/12/2013 22:58

Its that wet here it doesn't stay long!

Raahh · 21/12/2013 23:03

I'm feeling better now, Anne- just that wobbly feeling from being sick. DD1 is definitely feeling better- and back to bickering with her brother. I love school holidays. GrinDh is in work now til late Christmas eve- we really can't afford for him to be ill too.

We always do magic reindeer dust- have to make some tomorrow. Need to remember the website I print the poem from. We do sprinkle on the grass. Our grass is so long, it will look lovely with gold and silver glitter. Xmas Grin I'm more worried about a 'magic porridge pot' scenario with the oats, since it is very wet at the moment.

I remember watching Britain's top model, or whatever it was called, when Abbey was in it. I think she thought she was gong to win. Mind you, i can't remember who didGrin. She was a lot more 'glamour model' then. But just as annoying.
