This is a thread for all lovers of the daytime soap 'Doctors', BBC1, 1.45pm. All welcome, newbies, regulars, lurkers. Let me entertain you with a festive song:

The 12 Days of Doctors Christmas
On the twelfth day of Christmas
My true love sent to me
Twelve Mandy's fretting
Eleven Chris's whinging
Ten Jimmi's washing
Nine Heston's scripting
Eight Barry's peering
Seven Daniel's flirting
Six Zara's glaring
Five paaaa-tients!
Four sad Robs
Three pies for Al
Two Karens
And a tabard in a pear tree

Xmas Smile Xmas Smile Xmas Smile

The apostrophe police will have a field day with that one ^

(Private note to Kev: go on.....show me your baubles! Xmas Grin)

Never seen Yo Gabba Gabba. It's Simpsons all the way here now.

MsNobodyAgain · 17/12/2013 22:42

Love the Simpsons. I'm also addicted to the App. If I'm not on MN, I'm on Tapped Out.

I can imagine they were eligible bachelors - they must have been minted! Anthony's brother is their manager - must look at the credits for the rest of the Field family! Xmas Grin

Oh well, it makes a change from Sofia the First - that programme does my head in. She isn't a princess, she's the step-daughter of the king. And even if she were a princess, she wouldn't be called "The First", because she isn't a Queen. Aaarrrgghh! I am not even going to start on the flying horse and the talking rabbit and the mispronunciation of Cecil as Ceeesil. Xmas Angry

Never seen Yo Gabba Gabba.

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 17/12/2013 23:03

I just can't get into the Simpsons. No objections to it, but it is on a long, long list of programmes that the DCs like which can be on and I can be nominally watching but not actually take in any of.

ClayDavis · 18/12/2013 00:56

yy to Yo Gabba Gabba and the drugs. Managed to catch an episode when babysitting for my nieces one weekend. They though it was brilliant. IMO it was far too early on a Sunday morning for that much colour and energy.

I think I must be still traumatised. As soon as I saw the Wiggle mentioned my first thought was 'however bad it is it can't be as bad as yo gabba gabba'.

MsNobodyAgain · 18/12/2013 06:37

Thank goodness I am not alone clay.

Second nativity today. Was DDs yesterday. Packed out. I think I saw the back of her head once but I can't be sure.

It's the boys one today. Much smaller school and I always cry. I feel in the mood for a good blub. Bring it on!

I've not had a nativity for ages. Used to love Xmas working in schools. Best nativity for tears was one where I worked when a girl who couldn't speak but was learning ( age 8) said a line she had been practicing in secret and most of the staff didn't even know it was happening. Whole audience and staff cried.

cinnamongreyhound · 18/12/2013 08:01

We love the Simpsons in our house :) and never heard of yo gabba gabba!

Had ds1's nativity last week and ds2 is too small :(

OodKingWenceslas · 18/12/2013 08:10

Simpsons got over done by dd2 on an obsession so we couldn't stand it for a long time

cinnamongreyhound · 18/12/2013 09:33

The Simpsons was banned when I was a kid, my stepdad thought it was stupid and he watched the news instead. My ex was a massive fan so we watched it daily on channel 4 and sky one. We don't have sky now and it's nice that channel 4 are finally showing new episodes so we don't have to watch the same ones I've seen before :)

I'm doing my party for my childminder children today, 11 children, junk food, music and games, wish me luck!

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 18/12/2013 09:55

Good luck Cinnamon.

I think my nativity days are over as of last year, my DCs school only do them in KS1 and both are in KS2 now, where they do musicals instead, so they did Bugsy Malone last week. That is so sweet about the little girl saying her line Ood.

toldmyhollywreath · 18/12/2013 13:22

Thinking of you Cinnamon how lovely for your mindees, hope it goes well.
Aah Ood that it so lovely, bet her parents were overwhelmed.

Raahh · 18/12/2013 13:44

EEK!!

due to various real life things, and many sick people, i have very much neglected the thread- and it DROPPED OFF TIO!

So just a fly by visit to restore it to it's proper place before i have to rush of to the sorting office because the bloody postman decided not to bother to know (i was in) and returned my parcel. .

No Nativity this year, after DD1's triumph last year .
Next year, dd2 will be in nursery. Along with 39 others, she will be dressed as a snowflake/angel/chicken which will cost me a fortune to make, and will be brought out for 30 seconds to wave, and leave. And I will have to fight for a seat, and sit through all the rest of it,just for that.

HumbugXmas Grin

Raahh · 18/12/2013 13:44

knock

cinnamongreyhound · 18/12/2013 14:13

Watching Peter Andre in 60mm, it's great he can take the Mickey out of himself! Picked ds2 and one mindee up from preschool gave them lunch then took them to preschool party and have to pick them up at 2.45 to then go to school to pick up the bigguns so think I deserve to sit on my bum Wink

cinnamongreyhound · 18/12/2013 14:23

And grrrrrr at your postman Raahh!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 18/12/2013 14:57

Your party for 11 children Cinnamon - rather you than me.

Ok, I have just had a sudden realisation that Christmas day is a week today and I have had a minor panic about it all. I got organised so early with presents etc that I sort of just forgot it was getting so close. I am busily writing lists of what I need food-wise, and trying to remember where I have put everything.

I must be in a bad way, I have even got round to clearing the junk out of the spare room ready for my parents to stay! I usually leave that to the very last minute!

I've got my turkey and dessert ordered from M&S, so am picking that up Christmas Eve, but I really need to sort the rest. DH is away at his mum's this weekend, so I'll have to drag DD around the heaving supermarket to buy veg etc. That is not going to go down well.

We are out all day Friday too, so that's one less day to sort stuff. Aaaggghh!!

cinnamongreyhound · 18/12/2013 20:38

We are at my mums Christmas day and probably Boxing day evening so I'm very lucky I don't have to do that. Ds2 and I are doing our pre-Chrismtas shop tomorrow and I hope that will be it until 28th when I will stock up on essentials hopefully on my own. We are out 27th at the panto and dinner somewhere (again provided by my mum!) afterwards.

OodKingWenceslas · 18/12/2013 20:44

We are hosting. Dh is cooking but we've just worked out I will need to prep as he's working until 6 Xmas Eve and all day/eve the preceding three days. So Friday is our last chance for anything that needs both of us.
I've still got almost everything to wrap and nowhere to hide it all once wrapped (currently hoping dd3 doesn't ask about the bin bags on the landing)
Plus the pre Xmas clean. I've so far done 2 floors. The ones visitors don't tend to see Hmm. Dh will play with steam mop the kitchen/bathroom which just leaves me the biggest messes living rooms. [boom]

MsNobodyAgain · 19/12/2013 09:00

Morning all!

Today I will mostly be cleaning Xmas Sad and hoping that the Monster Truck arrives that DS2 set his heart on 2 days ago.

The emergency postage cost as much as the truck.

OodKingWenceslas · 19/12/2013 09:21

Morning. I'm doing a big veg shop today as its last market day before Christmas. Dh is working so I'm taking the pram & my Dad!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/12/2013 10:29

Morning!

I am just writing lots of lists before I hit the supermarket / Costco.

Is it too early to get the veg? I want to get it today but will I end up running out to the shop on Christmas Eve to replace a pile of limp parsnips?

I have also realised that I haven't got a gift for my elderly relative and so I need to buy something today so I can post it in time for Christmas. Agghh!

MsNobodyAgain · 19/12/2013 11:00

Parsnips should keep in the fridge or cold garage. Plus any other hard veg I would imagine.

I have low standards so frozen does in our house.

OP posts:
OodKingWenceslas · 19/12/2013 11:26

We are prepping some tomorrow and freezing due to limited time later on!
