MsNobodyAgain · 06/12/2013 14:49

This is a thread for all lovers of the daytime soap 'Doctors', BBC1, 1.45pm. All welcome, newbies, regulars, lurkers. Let me entertain you with a festive song:

The 12 Days of Doctors Christmas
On the twelfth day of Christmas
My true love sent to me
Twelve Mandy's fretting
Eleven Chris's whinging
Ten Jimmi's washing
Nine Heston's scripting
Eight Barry's peering
Seven Daniel's flirting
Six Zara's glaring
Five paaaa-tients!
Four sad Robs
Three pies for Al
Two Karens
And a tabard in a pear tree

Xmas Smile Xmas Smile Xmas Smile

The apostrophe police will have a field day with that one ^

(Private note to Kev: go on.....show me your baubles! Xmas Grin)

My mum still gets me the annual every year! Yes, the Broons still go to the But 'n' Ben, Told! And Wullie still has his bucket, but you don't see much of Jeemie the mouse any more. Sad

I saw a lorry cab the other day with a picture of Oor Wullie on the back!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 16/12/2013 19:43

I was out today at 1.40pm, and just now I thought "oh I'll watch Doctors now" and then remembered it wasn't on. Xmas Sad

Took DD to see Frozen today - it was great!

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 16/12/2013 21:31

I was at work and looked at the clock at 1.10 and though, oh, going to miss Doctors again. Then I remembered Sad.

MsNobodyAgain · 16/12/2013 22:25

I am going to have to put a note in my diary to look at the spoilers the week before it returns.

I want the Gobbys back together.

There is no way Karen could be pregnant is there? Xmas Shock

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 16/12/2013 22:31

Well yes MsN, it only takes once in soapland. Even if you are pushing 50. Hasn't she already had an unwanted pregnancy storyline though? Before my time so I might be wrong.

MsNobodyAgain · 16/12/2013 22:44

Yes she did. She had an abortion after much agonising between her and Gobbyplod. I can't remember if she got sterilised as well though.

I doubt they would up-duff her again tbh. I hope so anyway.

I just woke up from a dream where if was at my bank and the Doctors team were giving out financial advice Grin I was served by FOD, Zara and Al but they were all there sat round a big table serving customers. I saw Jimmi but he was wedged into a corner so I couldn't really get to him, and also I didn't want him to know how overdrawn I am GrinGrinGrin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 17/12/2013 13:12

I miss Doctors. I really fancy watching it today.

Leezl - good job Jizz has gone - her financial advice to get you out of debt would have been to work on a sex chat line.

toldmyhollywreath · 17/12/2013 13:25

ah leezl what must our brains be like to have such dreams? Smile

MsNobodyAgain · 17/12/2013 14:01

leezl you do realise that Jimmi was hiding from you, don't you?

He's scared of youuuuuuuuuu! Xmas Grin

Love how this thread still moves at a decent pace despite the subject matter being AWOL! I'm currently watching Ben 10 ominverse having watched some 60mm :)

I can't wait for this week to be over! Chrismas parties, dinner, non uniform days etc are exhausting! Looking forward to my week off :)

leezl · 17/12/2013 14:59

MsN you take that back!!! Confused He WILL love me!!!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 17/12/2013 15:25

I got DD a Wiggles Christmas DVD for £1, after seeing it on one of the Christmas Bargain threads. Gave it to her on Saturday to watch on the journey to MIL's and it hasn't been off since. I know all the words and most of the dance moves now.

Moral of the story - never buy something you think a 4 year old may like to watch once or twice. You are doomed to watch it on a loop for ever more.

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 17/12/2013 15:39

I loved the Wiggles when the DCs were younger, unfortunately they won't watch them any more. Anthony was my favourite.

Same thing here though Anne - I took DD to Sainsburys for Christmas shopping about a week ago and she made me buy her the DVD of Hotel Transylvania, they must have watched it about 50x so far (it's on now). At least it hasn't got catchy tunes to get stuck in my head though.

cinnamongreyhound · 17/12/2013 16:04

Dss used to love the wiggles, watched it over and over and over again but at least it was only every other weekend and one evening :)

toldmyhollywreath · 17/12/2013 17:22

Sorry-but no idea what the wiggles are! Probably lucky that mine are too old for it, but then again Christmas is definitely not the same with older DC. Much more exciting & busy with little ones.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 17/12/2013 18:02

They are 4 Australians who are singing and dancing superstars for the under-5 market, told.

The DVD is on again. Even when it is off I am humming the bloody songs!

Yes, WhoKnows, Anthony is my favourite too, with Greg a close second. I can't believe I actually have a favourite Wiggle. I seriously need to get out more.

toldmyhollywreath · 17/12/2013 18:10

Thanks Anne I've an idea that I might've heard of them-are they mega famous & probably very rich?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 17/12/2013 18:53

Yes they are, they have been going for years, and have toured extensively in the UK and the US. They are very rich because they own the concept, tour and sell lots of DVDs.

In fact I've just discovered that 3 of them have now retired and been replaced by new, young Wiggles, just Anthony left from the original line-up.

OodKingWenceslas · 17/12/2013 20:15

at the Wiggles.

I'm another that's wanting the week to slow a bit. Party yesterday , trip today, party tomorrow, family Xmas party at the weekend plus a birthday , a Christmas concert and dh working everyday plus 4 evenings up to Christmas Eve I'm knackered!
Not helped by both little ones being ill. Some really bad colds going round at the moment.

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 17/12/2013 20:27

Oh, didn't realise there was only Anthony left. Apparently they were the most eligible bachelors in Oz for a long time. If you look at the credits on the DVDs it seems that almost the entire crew and supporting cast are Anthony's family members.

MsNobodyAgain · 17/12/2013 20:46

It was the Teletubbies that used to haunt me. I used to hear that theme tune in my sleep.

This week is going way too fast and I am ill Xmas Sad

OP posts:
HoggyTruffle · 17/12/2013 21:36

The Wiggles were well creepy and surely they weren't eligible bachelors. Confused

DS used to watch the Aussie show called the Fairies around the same time the Wiggles were about. Lots of serious Aussie actors prancing around pretending to be fairies, elves, wizards and a giant bee. It's amazing what you try and block out once the kids start to grow up...

OodKingWenceslas · 17/12/2013 21:51

There was another one too, had male and female Aussies (or NZ?)memory vague but on milkshake in 2004 ish?

MsNobodyAgain · 17/12/2013 22:10

Anyone ever watched Yo Gabba Gabba? I've never taken drugs but I can imagine that is what life is like if your drugged up to your eyeballs.

Seriously weird.
