Masterchef the Professionals 4th Nov!

BBC2, 8.30pm. Monica is back. Michel is back. Sadly, Greg is also back, but we can't have everything. This is my favourite Masterchef variant, so I am a happy bunny.

But the lady chef is nowhere near the level of Mr Smoke in A Dome

The lady chef will no doubt go out in the next round. I don't know why they prolong the agony.

Because she was just slightly better than Scottish man.

I reckon Adam will go all the way to the final (unless he massively screws up at some point which is always a possibility). He's the first one this series that really stands out. It may be because the rest are so mediocre this week however.

Missed it tonight - helping dd with algebra, took ages. Saw enough to say the right one went home. (Did you see the sweat drip on the end of his nose as he was plating up? Bleugh.)

Where is Adam working atm? I thought I heard Skye but not sure if I heard that right over the noise the dc were making.

Monica is my girl-crush. She is as lovely in real life as she is on screen.

(And for those who think that posh restaurants are for grown ups, she told me I absolutely should take my toddler to Le Gavroche, as did Michel.)

I've been trying to place Adam's accent - does anyone know where he's from? (Don't say Scotland - I've got that far )

Adam was said to be from Manchester on Monday but from London last night, so presumably had moved jobs. I am quite sure he is Scottish but I think he's spent a lot of time away from Scotland. Last week I thought David (the Spanish one) could be series winner. This week I'm thinking Adam will give him a run for his money. Tom from week 2 was also vg, of course. Week 1 winners made less impression but I think there was a Scot appropriately called Scott.

Is it semi-final week next week? Good-oh.

Yes, semis next week. Monday - all 8 fight it out for the 6 semi-final places. Tues, Wed, Thurs - they go off to restaurants in pairs. If it's like last year they will then come back to the Masterchef kitchen and cook for Michel. At the end of that he will decide with Greg, or preferably Monica, which of the two goes through to the final. IIRC last year he was unable to separate two of them after one semi so there was a cook off at the start of finals week to get rid of one of the others, and then of course they ended up with joint winners.

I hope they don't seed them in pairs or groups. I hate it when the remaining ones having to win in a sub-group and can't compete with all of the other competitors equally.

I'm still massively crushing on David

On his Twitter account, he is Head chef @caxton - @sterminshotel in westminster london. Thought he was brilliant.

A 15 minute soufflé? Bloody hell, that's a challenge.

How can that be compared to the bread forming one?

That's what I was thinking scone. The challenges aren't even.
