BBC2, 8.30pm. Monica is back. Michel is back. Sadly, Greg is also back, but we can't have everything. This is my favourite Masterchef variant, so I am a happy bunny.

OP posts:

You do, it's a BBC show. Grin

I always want to know why they don't have waiters.

NotAnotherPackedLunch · 14/11/2013 20:40

"Skid mark across the plate" Grin Grin

jezzasjockstrap · 14/11/2013 20:41

Get your nose out of the orange sponge Monica.

jezzasjockstrap · 14/11/2013 20:44

Ladies and gents we have... Salty black rice followed by turd on a bed of tooth glue.
Yum.

Tee2072 · 14/11/2013 20:49

I also want to know how they all only have an hour but they don't serve all at once. Staggered start times?

Tee2072 · 14/11/2013 20:57

Oh I'm bummed, I liked Vinny.

MsJupiterJones · 14/11/2013 21:07

I was really hoping MRJ would say "plenty butter" again, that was my favourite thing so far this series.

Followed by "Vanilla? In Provence?!"

LaVolcan · 14/11/2013 21:07

Do the critics really eat 4 meals one after the other? No wonder they are rather generously proportioned!

Tee2072 · 14/11/2013 21:10

I really can't figure it out LaVolcan. You certainly see all the chefs running around at the same time but I agree. That's a lot to eat!

LornaMorello · 14/11/2013 21:10

I think they must leave some LaVolcan, I saw one of the men leave quite a lot of fish on his plate. I wouldn't mind 4 meals after the other though…

Jux · 15/11/2013 08:51

skid mark across the plate brilliant! Grin

I was sorry Vinny went, too. But this lot were pretty poor against some of the others. If Petrus had been in with them, he'd be through easily. Sad

I assumed that the critics' round was done over several days, wth suitable contestant-running-about-madly-together shots done separately - perhaps they have a rehearsal day with all of them and shots are taken from that?

Tee2072 · 15/11/2013 09:33

Maybe Jux. No one who knows is allowed to tell!

Brugmansia · 15/11/2013 12:55

Just caught up. I'm sad Vinny went. I thought his fish dish looked really clever and his food was much more interesting than Stephen's. Vinny also seemed really nice. I don't agree Petrus would have beat them this week. His critics round wasn't great from what I remember. Tom also easily beats most of last week's contestants.

MyNameIsWinkly · 18/11/2013 20:31

It's Monday again, must mean a new invention test!

MyNameIsWinkly · 18/11/2013 20:34

"You've used the coconut two ways" - she knows, you simpering idiot, she just did it!!

MyNameIsWinkly · 18/11/2013 20:34
KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 18/11/2013 20:36

I want to eat what Monica cooks!

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 18/11/2013 20:37

I'll be interested to see what this lot come up with though. Canapés eh?

NotAnotherPackedLunch · 18/11/2013 20:37

Are they going to show the contestants trying to open the coconut? and more importantly Monica's face as they bodge it

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 18/11/2013 20:38

Antartica? Penguin served three ways perhaps?

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 18/11/2013 20:43

You bet she's curious how a crab fish stew will work out Grin

NotAnotherPackedLunch · 18/11/2013 20:43

Any guesses what the fish stew made with crab meat will look like? Grin

MyNameIsWinkly · 18/11/2013 20:44

Some of these crab slops are turning my delicate stomach.

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 18/11/2013 20:44

Stew? sick on a plate by the look of it.

TEEurkeyDay · 18/11/2013 20:45

I have no idea what I would cook with that.

And Hi all! Grin
