BBC2, 8.30pm. Monica is back. Michel is back. Sadly, Greg is also back, but we can't have everything. This is my favourite Masterchef variant, so I am a happy bunny.

I always want to know why they don't have waiters.

I also want to know how they all only have an hour but they don't serve all at once. Staggered start times?

I was really hoping MRJ would say "plenty butter" again, that was my favourite thing so far this series.

Followed by "Vanilla? In Provence?!"

Do the critics really eat 4 meals one after the other? No wonder they are rather generously proportioned!

I really can't figure it out LaVolcan. You certainly see all the chefs running around at the same time but I agree. That's a lot to eat!

I think they must leave some LaVolcan, I saw one of the men leave quite a lot of fish on his plate. I wouldn't mind 4 meals after the other though…

I was sorry Vinny went, too. But this lot were pretty poor against some of the others. If Petrus had been in with them, he'd be through easily.

I assumed that the critics' round was done over several days, wth suitable contestant-running-about-madly-together shots done separately - perhaps they have a rehearsal day with all of them and shots are taken from that?

Maybe Jux. No one who knows is allowed to tell!

Just caught up. I'm sad Vinny went. I thought his fish dish looked really clever and his food was much more interesting than Stephen's. Vinny also seemed really nice. I don't agree Petrus would have beat them this week. His critics round wasn't great from what I remember. Tom also easily beats most of last week's contestants.

It's Monday again, must mean a new invention test!

I want to eat what Monica cooks!

I'll be interested to see what this lot come up with though. Canapés eh?

Are they going to show the contestants trying to open the coconut? and more importantly Monica's face as they bodge it

You bet she's curious how a crab fish stew will work out

Any guesses what the fish stew made with crab meat will look like?

Some of these crab slops are turning my delicate stomach.

Stew? sick on a plate by the look of it.

I have no idea what I would cook with that.
