Masterchef the Professionals 4th Nov!

BBC2, 8.30pm. Monica is back. Michel is back. Sadly, Greg is also back, but we can't have everything. This is my favourite Masterchef variant, so I am a happy bunny.

They were all really good yesterday, but this lot don't seem to be that good. Maybe they'll come through in the classics tests.

I'm getting a bit fed up of the format already with all the classic snobbery.

Caper and sultana puree?
I'm struggling to imagine what that combination would taste like.

I like the fact that they properly talk through the contestants

tonights lot were very poor, it's a shame people like petrus are out, and yet those 3 are still in. and what is this love affair they're all having with potato fondant?, have never had it, is it really so tasty it warrants being on every plate?

Potato fondant is definitely this year's foam/microherbs/blob-smear. Every series has its trends.

So many of this lot had a bad round that I can't guess which two will be going home.

I knew Daniel was gone. And I was pretty sure it would be Maria.

Despite her caper and sultana sauce yesterday I liked Maria and hoped she scrape through.

Stephen did quite well, but I'm not sure he has enough of the look of someone who hasn't seen daylight or fresh air for years to make it to the end.
