I'm still stupidly excited about the 'new' Troughton episodes, but just to add to the fun, Watch are showing some seriously classic episodes today from 2pm. Any else watching? And what are you looking forward to as we approach the anniversary episode and beyond?

Exactly. I assumed John Hurt was regenerating into William Hartnell.

John Hurt is between Paul McGann & Christopher Ecclestone. He was in the Time War. Christopher Ecclestone had just left the Time War when he met Rose. It's not confusing at all!

I too was very pleased to see Tom Baker as he is one of my favourites, only I am a bit confused at how he managed to age when he turned into Peter Davison .

Apparently 1 doesn't remember the destruction of Gallifrey. I have no idea if he does or not.

Oh that was so cool! I loved that, didn't think I would for some reason.

I shall miss Matt Smith when he goes, but no doubt I'll manage - been watching it since 1963.

So if you're going to be nit picky, he isn't the 9th Doctor.

Just finished watching. Wow, just wow. It was stunning, moving, funny, brilliant................

But.... what happened to the Zygons in the Dark Vault?

I don't mind where Hurt fits in ... the 50th anniversary episode was utterly brilliant!

Tom Baker was MY Dr, so I was thrilled when that voice was heard. :-)

Loved it! That was perfect. The only sad part was that we didn't see John Hurt turn into Chris Eccleston, but you can't have everything.

Even just naming them all at the end was hugely fun

Moffat just said on the after show "we have a whole bunch of Hurt episodes we never saw!"

Moffatt has just confirmed that John Hurt is the Doctor from the off-the-air years.

Pixel, Tom Baker's Doctor makes a comment about revisiting old favourite (faces), so it's suggested that the older TB Doctor is actually another later regeneration of Matt Smith's doctor.
