I'm still stupidly excited about the 'new' Troughton episodes, but just to add to the fun, Watch are showing some seriously classic episodes today from 2pm. Any else watching? And what are you looking forward to as we approach the anniversary episode and beyond?

I know mine are mainly 3/4 so would def need gaps filling on 1/2

RustyBear · 15/10/2013 14:35

This site has a useful interactive list of Classic stories that are on DVD - if they have a red line instead of a picture, they are not available. (Enemy of the World and Web of Fear are only available on iTunes so far)

OohDoctorDarcy · 15/10/2013 18:40

Excellent rusty that's my Xmas list sorted

Kasterborous · 15/10/2013 22:26

Doctor Who and the Silurians is a great story Asheth enjoy it. A bit of useless trivia is Doctor Who and the Silurains is the only Doctor Who story that has Doctor Who in the tittle.

All the Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy stories are available on DVD.

Kasterborous · 15/10/2013 22:27

Davros if you are the greatest Doctor Who fan, I'm second greatest Wink

Davros · 15/10/2013 23:05

We went to the Radio Times exhibition at The Museum of London weekend before last, which features a celebration of DW. One Dalek and a load of RT covers in frames with pictures of Doctors various. Very disappointing from a DW pov but a great museum nonetheless.
Not sure how you check how long you've been on MN, I remember easily because I joined not long after DD was born and she's 10.5 now. Maybe do an archive search for your name with narrow dates?
I will be back for more DW!

OohDoctorDarcy · 16/10/2013 07:31

It used to be in mymumsnet but can't see it now (might be on desktop version?
I've checked my posts but I mainly lurked at first or stuck to chat so they've gone.

OohDoctorDarcy · 16/10/2013 07:35

Yes found it ( on profile page). 10 years next year! imagine how much wasted time

Davros · 16/10/2013 23:30

I'm sure we've both spent those years wasting time contributing Grin
I bought the Lakeland cookie jar to keep my tea bags in. Does anyone know if it's supposed to say "exterminate"? I keep hearing it and suspect the Cookie jar but can't make it do it! There are some old Dalek bits in the drawer but they haven't spoken for ages

Ooddoyouthinkyouare · 17/10/2013 06:32

I want the tardis biscuit jar

Davros · 17/10/2013 07:47

Treat yourself. I would buy the teapot but I need a big one for my excessive tea drinking and ours spends most of its time under a cosy

RustyBear · 17/10/2013 09:54

We went to the Doctor Who experience on my birthday and DH got me this

It's in the bathroom, but we have to have another one to use at night, or it wakes everybody up!

Ooddoyouthinkyouare · 17/10/2013 11:22

Oh wow I want one!

Kasterborous · 17/10/2013 15:00

Yes I like the TARDIS tea pot to but too small. Shame it's not dimensionally transcendental!

KayHarker · 19/10/2013 15:09

Actual trailer tonight just before Atlantis - not just another one of those blasted 'stings'.

BurlyShassey · 19/10/2013 20:25

Fantastic! Just seen trailer! cant wait!

double whammy after seeing trailer for Yonderland (horrible history cast) too!

anyone see 3rd Doc today? brilliant stuff.

KayHarker · 19/10/2013 21:05

That was awesome! Can't stop watching to try and pick up bits I've missed. And the music? Tremendous. And a hint of McGann. It's more like Christmas than Christmas. And Christmas has Capaldi. I'm not entirely certain that I could be any happier.

OP posts:
TheDoctrineOfSpike · 19/10/2013 23:10

The Impossible Astronaut is on iplayer, yay, have always managed to miss it!

WithaPickleOnTop · 20/10/2013 10:31

It hasn't been as good since Russell T Davis left IMO.

QuietNinjaTardis · 20/10/2013 15:01

I have recorded all the stuff they're showing on weekends at the mo but have no time to watch. I am however going to the 50th anniversary convention on 22nd nov. I will be 38 weeks pregnant

JustBecauseICan · 20/10/2013 15:08

Dd and I are working through the new box sets (she is just 10) and I am picking up all the old stuff on ebay etc for Christmas.

I can't explain how chuffed I am that my terror of Dr Who is rubbing off on her.

The single episode that has always stuck in my mind is Jon Pertwee with Jo (I think) and a plasticky black leathery seat that ate people. It was that early 70s plasticky stuff that women had stretchy boots made out of. I can't wait to see that one again!

BurlyShassey · 20/10/2013 18:21

awwww. Tom Baker! and Sarah-Jane!

the guy that played Laurence. wasn't he in Star wars? sure Ive seen him before.

kay I thought that too with the 3rd, the getting dressed scene, very Paul McGann. also shades of 2nd in his character.

BurlyShassey · 20/10/2013 18:21

posted too soon. Heard that the Zygons are in the anniversary episode!

BurlyShassey · 24/10/2013 18:03

just read in Doctor Who mag that the gorgeous Peter Capaldi is 'counting the sleeps' until his 1st days filming!

Aww, bless his little cotton socks, how sweet is that? Smile

like a kiddy counting sleeps for Xmas or birthday!

love him even more for that!

Kasterborous · 24/10/2013 22:53

JustBecauseICan the story you are referring to is Terror of the Autons. It does indeed have Jo in it, it's her first story. Enjoy it Grin
