I'm still stupidly excited about the 'new' Troughton episodes, but just to add to the fun, Watch are showing some seriously classic episodes today from 2pm. Any else watching? And what are you looking forward to as we approach the anniversary episode and beyond?

So Envy of those at the convention. I really need to go to one one day , dh & dds would be up for it , toddler & baby not so much!

Metebelis3 · 22/11/2013 19:17

My youngest went to her first at 20 months. The other two were slightly older their first times. I've seen plenty of babies at cons over the decades.

PaulMcGannsMistress · 22/11/2013 22:50

Culture show was interesting - probably the best retrospective so far, a lot more in depth and the talking heads were actually a)interesting and b)not out of soapland or boybandland

fancyanotherfez · 22/11/2013 23:00

God, I'm in Doctor Who overload this weekend! What with all the programmes, Google, waiting for David and Matt on Graham Norton and then tomorrow making Tardis and Dalek biscuits with my specially bought cookie cutters, then the show at the cinema, then getting home, getting DS out of his cyberman outfit and into PJs and bed in record time so I dont miss too much of the after party...

I liked the Culture Show too!

MegBusset · 22/11/2013 23:07

I'm going to the convention on Sunday with DS1 :) We're going to have our photo taken in the TARDIS!

AnAdventureInCakeAndWine · 22/11/2013 23:24

I really enjoyed the Culture Show -- much closer to what I'd been hoping for from the Ultimate Guide. Would quite like to show it to DS but not sure about the JNT bits.

WildEyedDrAndTheSeedsOfDoom · 23/11/2013 01:10

Marking my place for later TODAY, so excited Tardis

HarrietJonesPrimeMinister · 23/11/2013 07:03

metebelis its more the travel/hotel hassle of taking baby /toddler. Plus baby is a bit full on at the moment!

SomethingkindaOod · 23/11/2013 09:38

interesting quote on BBC teletext, apparently we.should expect an 'emotional wallop' at the end of the episode... I have my suspicions that we may see Mr Capaldi sooner than we think..

mrspremise · 23/11/2013 10:20

Love thst MN has a Tardis

PaulMcGannsMistress · 23/11/2013 10:21

I'm expecting fireworks. Which doesn't gel with my normal pessimistic nature, so perhaps I should expect something less than that.

Today's the day!!!!!! Grin Tardis

OhYouBadBadKaleds · 23/11/2013 10:40

it certainly is! had this in my diary since it was announced!

our plan is to watch the Five Doctors with pizza and nibbles. Then for the big show we have loads of jelly babies. Phone will be off amd no talking will be allowed. Then I'll see you all for the mn after party! Grin

fancyanotherfez · 23/11/2013 11:59

I think the emotional wallop is more likely to be John Hurt regenerating into Christopher Ecclestone.

SomethingkindaOod · 23/11/2013 12:12

could well be fancyanotherfez, I think I'm probably getting a little caried away but I wouldn't put it past Stephen Moffat to pull a stunt like that!
Even DH is getting excited about it now, he's planning our evening meal around the programme! He has never watched a full episode Grin Tardis

ItsBiggerOnTheInside · 23/11/2013 14:24

Just so excited about this!

Tardis
ItsBiggerOnTheInside · 23/11/2013 14:25

I love the way this whole thing has gained momentum over the last few weeks. I am also expecting fireworks..

AtticusMcPlatypus · 23/11/2013 14:26

We're off to the cinema to see it being simultaneously broadcast in 3D on the big screen. Stupidly excited!!

SnapespeareSong · 23/11/2013 14:54

I will leap from my sofa and punch the air screaming my head off if it's ecclestone. The last time I did that was when Derek Jacobi opened his pocket watch.

PaulMcGannsMistress · 23/11/2013 15:12

I also punched the air at the Jacobi reveal. Grin

I have a hunch we might see Capaldi, but I shouldn't think it'll be for long, we want him to have his moment of glory when he's regenerated.

Figgygal · 23/11/2013 16:30

I cant see ecclestone being in it tonight would be fab if he was but just don't think he will.

DS is having eat night and I'm getting out the gin.......can't wait

jellybabyanyone · 23/11/2013 16:32

would love to see Ecclestone in it. He is a wonderful actor.

PaulMcGannsMistress · 23/11/2013 16:40

I don't know what to do with myself Grin

LetZygonsbeZygons · 23/11/2013 17:08

weve made chocolate daleks a-la blue peter suggestion out of walnut whip, ball bearings ,and mallow,

cybermen (well white ones, look more like stormtroopers!) out of covering gingerbread men with icing,

and a tardis biscuit-thing by putting 'nice' biscuits in a block and covering with blue icing!

DCs got her tom Baker scarf on, (keeps her warm too) and if you could only see me, sitting here with a fez on my head and a mop next to me (supposedly to mop up any blubbing???????)

AnAdventureInCakeAndWine · 23/11/2013 17:17

If they have persuaded Eccleston into it they have done a truly remarkable job of keeping it under wraps.

Maybe they'll just play the regeneration sequence from "The Parting of the Days" backwards and CGI-morph John Hurt into it?

LetZygonsbeZygons · 23/11/2013 17:25

shitzu!

someone knocked at door just now (they had the wrong address) and I forgot I had a fez on my head and answered door!!!! Blush

got the weirdest look Ive ever had in my life!!!!!!!!!! they just looked up and i realised i had it on (its so comfortable i cant even feel it!) they went away giggling though!
