Hopefully this is the link.

I hope I haven't just linked to my own page!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 30/09/2013 20:05

They also have made 6tl suitably awful-looking.

Raahh · 30/09/2013 20:09

So the Lizzie Bennett character isn't a regular cast member? I was getting very confused looking at her. i mean, I know they recycle cast members, but still...
Mrs T does look lovely.

Jimmi looks like something out of planet of the Apes.
Grin

Dr Zaius

AnneEyhtMeyer · 30/09/2013 21:10

Yes, I don't know why they have cast an extra as Lizzie Bennett. It also isn't next week, it is the following Monday and Tuesday. Sad

Jimmi is indeed Dr Zaius! Well spotted, Raahh! Grin

Gobby is perfectly cast as Mrs Bennett!

cinnamongreyhound · 30/09/2013 21:16

Thanks all, I spoke to the nursery teacher and she said she can have them AnneEytlMeyer. No one at school suggested that though. Hopefully now I'll have more input in future dates.

Yes fb said 2 part episode 14th oct. They do all look fab!

cinnamongreyhound · 30/09/2013 21:17

So confused by that woman, sort ages trying to work out who she was Blush

AnneEyhtMeyer · 30/09/2013 21:23

Oh that's brilliant, Cinnamon! There is no way you should lose out without it being your decision!

I was confused too, especially as her name is Elisabeth, with an s like Zara. I was staring at her face trying to see Zara but failing!

Daniel certainly suits the regency look. I think it was a very flattering time for men's clothes, actually. Apart from Heston's outfit!

HoggyTruffle · 30/09/2013 21:39

OMG. TBFE rocks that Austen look. I must now grovel to Anne for likening him to a baboon. The ladies of the cast aren't looking so good in those bonnets. I might have to record those episodes.

OodAlpha · 30/09/2013 21:46

I know no Austen Blushdo you reckon that could turn out to be a good thing if its done Doctors style?

MsNobodyAgain · 30/09/2013 21:57

I've already decided to skip the Austen episodes Ood.

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 30/09/2013 21:58

Me either OodAlpha!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 30/09/2013 22:01

What??? Why would you skip the Austen episodes MsN? Oh you just can't! They costumes look fab!

Have you ever seen the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth? Or seen Bridget Jones' Diary? Then you'll be set, storyline-wise.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 30/09/2013 22:02

And even if you haven't, you know that it will be ok - Doctors is always WTF and we never know what is going on!

Oh it won't be the same without you!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 30/09/2013 22:03

Hoggy - I accept your grovelling apology now that you have seen the light. TBFE is sex on legs.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 30/09/2013 22:07

Looking at those photos again I think Daniel would make a good Rochester too. Maybe they'll do a Bronte week?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 30/09/2013 22:10

I need MsN to come back and tell me she was kidding about Missing the Austen episodes. Sad

OodAlpha · 30/09/2013 22:17

I've read Bridget Jones. can't stand Renee Z or Hugh Grant or Colin Firth so didn't do the films

MsNobodyAgain · 30/09/2013 22:22

Anne I'll just get annoyed because I can't remember anything Austen related so I can't join in the chatter and then I will get sad and flounce.

Evening all,

I live in Jane Austen country (according to the roadsigns) so I have no excuse not to watch, missed today's might watch in a minute.

Glad you got the meeting problem sorted out Cinnamon. Surely many people cannot get time off work at such short notice.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 01/10/2013 11:27

Oh MsN, it really won't matter! Honestly!

All you need to know:

From Pride & Prejudice:

Zara is playing Caroline Bingley - snobby, rude woman who fancies Darcy and is sister of nice chap.

Gobby is playing Mrs Bennett - a gobby lady with lots of daughters, no sons, and married to a man who's estate must go down the male line, so is desperate to get her daughters married to wealthy men.

Jimmi is playing Mr Collins, an awful sycophantic man, who is a distant cousin of the Bennett family, and will inherit when Mr Bennett dies.

Daniel is playing Mr Darcy, a sexy but repressed man with an income of £10000 a year!

FOD is playing Lydia Bennett, the naughty Bennett daughter who runs away and marries an inappropriate man.

Mrs T is playing Lady Catherine de Bourgh, an extremely rich, pompous relation of Mr Darcy, who wants her dull daughter to marry Darcy.

An unknown person is playing Lizzie Bennett, who is the second eldest Bennett sister. Lizzie marries Darcy after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing.

From Northanger Abbey:

TBFE is playing General Tilney, owner of Northanger Abbey, has three children, and wants them to marry into wealth. See a theme here?

From Emma:

Chris is playing Frank Churchill, a potential suitor for Emma, stepson of her former governess. He's not really that suitable.

6tl plays Miss Bates, Emma's poor unmarried neighbour.

In a nutshell, Austen books are about marrying well, snobbery and flirting. Please watch them, MsN!

Raahh · 01/10/2013 11:49

For 'A' level, I had to study Persuasion. I hated itGrin. Lots of mooning around in Lyme Regis. It doesn't help, that there only seems to be half a dozen names in Austen world, so it gets confusing when all the blokes are called the same thing. And at the same time we studied Persuasion, we were also reading 'The French lieutenant's Woman'. Also set in Lyme RegisHmm- I never want to visit. (apologies to inhabitants of LRGrin).

Fortunately, I managed to avoid a lot of Austen at university, but did have to read P and P at one point. But I quite like Mansfield Park, and the very best Austen adaptation is 'Clueless' (imo, Grin).

AnneEyhtMeyer · 01/10/2013 12:17

We didn't do any Austen for 'A' level. I read them all as an impressionable teenager.

curlyclaz13 · 01/10/2013 12:49

just caught up on yesterday's, poor tbfe ! I hope they treat that storyline sensibly , very odd that all was forgotten about the murderer's daughter by the end. I like that they used the actual local news reader at the end gives location away

AnneEyhtMeyer · 01/10/2013 13:17

I noticed the local newsreader's voice too, curly!

Mind you, that local news covers an absolutely huge area!
