Starting a new thread as I used up the last two messages on the last one. Also this is my first thread I've ever started! A great subject to start with.

Hmmm... I am worried they are going to jump the shark with Hayley's illness. I am concerned that by Christmas I will be desperate for her to just hurry up and die if they keep up the mawkish sentimentalism every single episode. The diary is too much.

whatkungfuthat · 02/10/2013 07:52

They are going to wring every drop out of Hayley dying aren't they? I feel sorry for the actress as she has to suffer these indignities

LordElpuss · 02/10/2013 09:21

Exactly, AnneEyht! It's like an unfortunate production of the play based on the Diary of Anne Frank. The young actress who played Anne was so tiresome that when the SS arrived at the house, the audience yelled "she's in the attic!"

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/10/2013 09:40

Lol Misty that made me laugh about the ironing board. Ill be looking out for it now!

Also my dad said Corrie are allowed to show three brands per week. I spotted Yorkshire tea in Dev's shop and ive always got my eye out for what else I can see!

MurielTheActor · 02/10/2013 09:50

That chap who plays Nick is SO bad he can't even do coma acting! Aaargh!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 02/10/2013 09:55

Grin "She's in the attic!" - That's so funny, LordElpuss!

I think it would be better if she just got on and died quickly. Alma's death didn't drag on like this, did it?

Impomea · 02/10/2013 10:56

Almas death was very moving I could hardly bear to watch but she was also a well loved character .I don't get why they have to write Hayley out.She could have just gone off for a couple of years to do charity work hasn't she had long breaks before? Perhaps they did not realize how popular Hayley's character is.

Lighthousekeeping · 02/10/2013 12:25

Only because she's the only interesting one in it!

Clawdy · 02/10/2013 14:39

Lord Elpuss that's an urban myth....

AnneEyhtMeyer · 02/10/2013 14:41

Oddly enough, the actress who played Alma was in Doctors today.

I just don't see why they have dragged out Hayley's death. It is going to ruin the character as they wring out every ounce of sentimentality.

LordElpuss · 02/10/2013 14:45

Clawdy - don't go spoiling a good anecdote! Next you'll be saying that Coronation Street isn't real and Hayley's pretending to be ill Shock

Clawdy · 02/10/2013 15:00

Ooh,no,I'd never do that!!

FannyMcNally · 02/10/2013 20:35

Complete yawn-fest tonight apart from Kylie's face when Nick said "mine" and poor deluded Leanne thinking he was trying to say "my niece"! Does anyone know when and how this storyline ends?

BlatantRedhead · 02/10/2013 21:21

I'm sorry but how thick must Leanne be not to have thought Nicks response to Lilly was fucking weird? His exact response to "Davids a proper proud Dad" being "not. his. mine." I mean how obvious is that! Who on earth would think he's talking about her being his niece?

Mind you, I have noticed she talks so much he can't really get anything out anyway. If he never regains his speech properly it'll be like that his whole life. How depressing.

I get fed up with totally inexperienced people coming in to for various jobs in the factory and within a week they are getting all these 'contrakks' and turning the factory round.

It must be the ONLY manufacturing set up left in the UK. All the others have turned into distribution centres while the actual manufacturing work goes on in china.

whatkungfuthat · 03/10/2013 14:11

I agree Flibberty, it's like in Eastenders when they put on a polyester pin-stripe suit and say they are going to be entrepreneurs but never leave the Square to do it.

Owen the Tiny Terror and his unpaid debt is a yawnfest

NuggetofPurestGreen · 03/10/2013 19:19

My friend says Nick looks like ET Grin

God it was woeful last night. Lowlights were 'not.his.mine' and OTTT in the beauty salon not understanding what bankruptcy is.

How much would you want to punch leanne if you were stuck in that bed listening to her? I'd pretend to sleep aswell!!

FannyMcNally · 04/10/2013 19:53

Bloody hell, shut up Deirdre!

YoureBeingADick · 04/10/2013 20:03
Grin
Ellenora5 · 04/10/2013 20:11

Deirdre and the crisps Grin how tactless is she

DameEdnasBridesmaid · 04/10/2013 20:30

What was going on with Dreary? What was she withering on about.

It's also about time she ditched that bloody awful belt

AnneEyhtMeyer · 04/10/2013 20:31

You know the guy who owes Owen money? Did he used to be in Brookside? He looks so familiar.
