Starting a new thread as I used up the last two messages on the last one. Also this is my first thread I've ever started! A great subject to start with.

Oh and Rob has one because there was some storyline about someone hiding knickers in it when it was in the garage. Tina I think?

Nick had a van, didn't he? Which was used twice - once when there was something fishy going on with an order and again so he could have the accident with David.

Insurance premiums must be sky-high in Weatherfield.

ProfYaffle · 12/01/2014 11:55

Anyone else pick up on the mention of Audrey's son in Canada? I'd forgotten about him, I guess that means we'll be seeing him again soon!

NuggetofPurestGreen · 12/01/2014 12:20

Yeah that's the works van Anne. For some reason I think kevin has a car too but I don't know why. And Jason and Owen must have vans too mustn't they? So quite a lot of cars for people that all live and work on the same street!

OP posts:
JodieGarberJacob · 12/01/2014 12:24

Mary must have her van serviced there I would think.

mileysorearse · 12/01/2014 14:58

Hasn't gone to Canada a couple of times and come back with new heads?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 12/01/2014 15:57

Nick came back from Canada with a new head. They must sell them cheap there.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 12/01/2014 16:43

They should have Ken come back with a new head if William Roache can't come back Grin

OP posts:
AnneEyhtMeyer · 12/01/2014 16:56

Yes, maybe Idris Elba's head? Or Michael Fassbender's?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 12/01/2014 17:03

The more I think about your brilliant idea Nugget the more I think it could work.

januarysunsetfire · 12/01/2014 17:07

Michelle is absolutely awful - I am completely with Steve!

Poor Roy, but honestly, FFS, can he not just go to Sainsbury's like most people Grin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 12/01/2014 17:11

I was amazed there was an alternative to Dev's shop or Freshco's.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 12/01/2014 17:17

Where do they all keep their cars then? There are never more than one or two parked anywhere (although that might be because the set isn't full scale or something I think). Any terraced streets round here are jam packed with parked cars 24/7.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 12/01/2014 17:34

Grin Grin at the idea of Michael Fassbender Barlow. Deirdre would be beside herself!

WhoKnows they must keep the cars in the same cupboard where they put the children when they're not in use in storylines.

Seriously , it must be a nightmare for the scriptwriters re the Ken Barlow situation. I suppose they can't kill him off in case he's found Not Guilty, but the longer he's in Canada the more unrealistic it seems. It's never mentioned what's the matter with the sick grandson.

Lighthousekeeping · 12/01/2014 18:00

Won't he need a visa soon?

Bakingnovice · 13/01/2014 18:19

Yes it is silly that there's no cars parked anywhere on the street but then there's Mary's mahoosive mobile house parked randomly outside cabin/beside garage/outside cafe.

I heard there's a new Muslim family coming to the street. I'm looking forward to it. Corrie don't have good form with ethnic characters though.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 13/01/2014 18:23

It's a bit daft, the Ken situation. They should have just had him upstairs playing his tapes until the whole business was sorted out.

alemci · 13/01/2014 19:30

maybe the cars are like the extra bedrooms and it is like that Tardis effect which is so popular in Soap Operas

eddiemairswife · 13/01/2014 21:52

Where was Fay this evening? I didn't see her when the rest of the family were at the dining table.

Aquelven · 13/01/2014 22:49

She must have been in the cupboard upstairs.

Ellenora5 · 14/01/2014 00:08

Faye was with the 24 hour on call babysitter along with Hope and Ruby, unless Chesney has started a creche and minds them when he is minding Joseph, he probably runs it from the back of the kebab shop

Poor Hayley and the whole stupid strawberry nonsense, the other night when Roy, Tyrone and Fizz were trying to get her to eat made for very uncomfortable watching I thought, she didn't bloody want it, it was like they were trying to coax a child to eat

I reckon it won't be long until we are saying our goodbyes to Hayley

Wingedharpy · 14/01/2014 02:16

I thought the strawberry-coaxing was quite realistic though Ellenora.

Family/friends of very ill people are often desperate to do something/anything to "help" - hence, latching on to the fact that after not eating for a while, Hayley apparently enjoyed 1 strawberry - leading to journeying miles to get more of same, only for her not to want them.

Roy feels dissappointed and helpless - Hayley feels she's being harrassed and badgered.

It's very realistic IMHO.
Far more common than the usual neat and nice dying scenes we see on TV and films.

Impomea · 14/01/2014 08:14

The scenes with Roy and Hayley are realistic I agree .It's very harrowing and difficult to watch but brilliantly acted -there will be some TV awards coming their way I think

Surely Feelan is up to something with the mill development thing Owen should leave well alone .It will mean a lot more of the Anna/Gary/Owen lot which I am not looking forward to !

bebbeau · 14/01/2014 10:47

oh god the hayley storyline is heart breaking :(

i just want it to be over in a way, poor, poor roy and hayley
