Starting a new thread as I used up the last two messages on the last one. Also this is my first thread I've ever started! A great subject to start with.

It wasn't great was it?

Kylie and co - predictable
Hayley and Roy - sweet
Andrea - awful, please don't let her become a regular.
Michele - justifiably pissed off but still annoying
Peter - don't be so bloody stupid (again predictable)
Tina - have a bit of dignity please

I did cry when Hayley was lying on the sofa at the end though :(

It was a bit farcical.
Andrea is played by one of those actresses who always plays herself as if the soap should be grateful.
Kylie story is just Becky mark 2 but without the comedy.
Really fed up of Corrie at the moment.

It was rubbish wasn't it? I wished I'd watched Eastenders now and I never watch Eastenders.

I hope Carla decks her when she finds out.

It was awful- I wasn't expecting much but when the most gripping part of the Xmas episode is about Michelle's new top then there's a problem

Haven't seen the last few episodes yet but looking forward to Michelle's top. And who is Andrea? I will catch up later when guests have gone!

Her character in Emmerdale was awful too IIRC, I stopped watching it years ago though. Hasn't she been on Strictly, or Dancing on Ice or something as well?

That top was horrible! The highlight for me was Eccles chewing the turkey.

Most boring xmas episode ever!! I can not believe how insensitive the Platt etc gang are to nick's condition, they should've seen the warning signs that he was about to lose it and then could've prevented the slap. So stupid!

Agree, Andrea is awful and Michelle is one of the most irritating characters in soap, all she does is bitch and moan at Steve.

Liked the Roy and Hayley scenes, thought they were well done :)

The singing in the rovers was a bit cringey but festive!

I read somewhere that Shane Macgowan had made a cameo appearance in the Rovers in October and it was due to be shown on December 20th. I don't remember seeing this and was only reminded of it when Mary started singing Fairytale. Did anyone spot him, apparently he was sitting with Peter? Maybe they haven't shown it yet.

Poor old Deirdre! I'm presuming she lives on her own now with no one to get exasperated with. She needs a good storyline or at least some good scenes with Rita or Liz slagging everybody off.

Hope we are building up for a good fight and kicking out of Peter from Carla.

I can't keep up with the Platts. I turn away for 5 minutes and David and Kylie have swapped places in the good books/bad books of the family. Time to put their story to bed, it's been going on all year.

As for Hayley I have to say I'm glad she's off soon. I've had enough of this badly written story and my sympathy for Hayley disappeared early on when they decided to make her mean and selfish.

Wish this David/Kylie situation would resolve itself soon am fed up with all this messing about.

I'm ok with the Hayley storyline, since they stopped going on about the assisted suicide anyway, wonder if they're going to go ahead with that?

I am so fed up with the Platts though. Plus I couldn't care less about Carla and Peter, they've both had so many partners and been ruthless in going behind others backs in the past that I have no sympathy for either of them.

Agree jodie Deirdre needs a scene with liz and Eileen putting the world to rights I like her better without ken and think she gets some good one liners which they should do more of.
Agree the platt storyline needs resolving now its hard work watching it at this point! Tbh it's just all a bit boring isn't it need a big storyline abd maybe some new faces

Oh maybe I've got that wrong about lonely Deirdre. Something happened the other day that made me think that Tracey and Amy were living with Rob.

Michelle's dress was hideous. It was a cross between a Christmas tree and a tent.

The Platt storyline is farcical now. They've got it to the point where Kylie has to leave, because it is just ridiculous. I hope Nick and Leanne get back together though, I don't like the way they are taking Nick's character.

I hope Ken never comes back. The programme is better without him.

Poor Tracey having to do some childcare, WhoKnows. What a terrible burden for her.

There really isn't much more they can do with Kylie is there? Unless they change tack totally and get her together with someone else. The everlasting love between her and David must surely have worn out by now. She's never really developed any friendships that can be built on, or worked anywhere except the Bistro.

Not sure about Ken - I miss his withering put downs to Tracey. But otherwise, his storylines have been absurd the last few years, canal boat woman, Wendy whatserface. I was watching an old TV Burp the other night and Ken, Deirdre, Blanche and Tracey were all sat round the table being rude to each other, those were the days.

What's happening to Kev? Is he being written back in now that he's been cleared? Not particularly excited at the thought.

I think Hayley and Roy have had some touching scenes lately - hated their continual fighting - and I thought Hayley played an excellent part yesterday.
