Starting a new thread as I used up the last two messages on the last one. Also this is my first thread I've ever started! A great subject to start with.

I'm close to stopping watching. I gave up EE earlier this year, and I haven't missed it. I think there comes a point when there are more annoying characters than decent ones and it isn't worth it any more.

I definitely think they have made a mistake with the Hayley storyline. I'm just willing her to die now.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 12/11/2013 19:37

I gave up Enders earlier this year too Anne and that was traditionally my favourite soap. Corrie's getting too much for me now, might be time to leave it too. What would I do with all the extra time though in the evening? Wink

Am I the only one that doesn't think Hayley is being nasty? Or am I not paying enough attention? Roy is annoying me more!

I gave up EE about 10 years ago and Emmerdale around the same time, which was when the DCs came along and early evenings were bedtimes. I dip into both occasionally but have no real interest, but I watched Corrie from a much younger age and am more attached to it.

Haven't seen it since last week, so can't comment on Hayley.

GideonKipper · 12/11/2013 23:01

I think I prefer raging Hayley to sickly sweet, nobly suffering while gazing at the stars Hayley.

Maybe they're gearing up for Owen to have an affair with Liz?

How is Kylie managing to pay the mortgage on a few shifts at the Bistro and with Gail on a cleaner's wage? Why isn't David citing his rights re his house and access to his child?

FeckOffCup · 13/11/2013 16:05

Whatever happened with Audrey's building work and her staying with Maria and Marcus, haven't heard that mentioned for a while?

purplepuppet · 13/11/2013 18:24

And on another note, is Todd wearing Ryan's clothes?

Vikki88 · 13/11/2013 19:11

I said this on another thread yesterday but Hollyoaks is by far the best soap on TV right now. None of the Corrie storylines are doing much for me and I hate where they've gone with Roy & Hayley - it's just frustrating to watch. I think Eastenders is still good but it'll get better again when Danny Dyer finally arrives! Grin

On Corrie, isn't Todd basically a totally different character to what he was before he left? Hmm

thistlelicker · 13/11/2013 19:55

Has Carla really peeled carrots using a sharp n
Knife ffs???

ajandjjmum · 13/11/2013 21:40

Carla has clearly never peeled a carrot in her life!!! Grin

Love Dev's little comeback to Tod's smartarse remark about remembering Dev being quite sporty - 'and I thought you'd go places - just look how wrong we both were!'

Hope Hayley and Roy get back to their usual relationship - at least, as much as is possible. Thought it was quite clever tonight.

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/11/2013 10:08

Haha I noticed Carla's carrot peeling skills too! Do people really grate with knives?

Im not liking Todd atm, is he supposed to be a horrible character? He's obv a massive workshy sponger.

Impomea · 15/11/2013 10:58

I agree Todd is awful I think he is up to no good in the cab office and I don't like this because Steve and Lloyd are the only good things about Corrie at the moment inmho.

Why does Tina have to be paid to look after Si ? Both his "parents" work in family businesses and there are loads of extended family to help out-St Ella,Gloria,Gail,Kylie don't like this storyline at all.

But loved Hayley playing Freddie Mercury to cheer her up, listening to him makes me happy too.Smile

Pegfreak · 15/11/2013 17:56

Didn't see Carla and Her Carrot but am wondering Desperate if she was scraping it as opposed to peeling it? How sad is it that I'm considering watching it on iplayer to check my amazing powers of detection and knowledge of All Things Carrot? Blush

NuggetofPurestGreen · 16/11/2013 13:08

No Corrie last night now? Flippin sport on I suppose.

How boring is the Carla wedding dress thing?

Felt sorry for Tina even though it's a stupid storyline.

RubberBullets · 17/11/2013 19:13

So it is mentioned on this thread that Izzy hasn't been seen for a while and then suddenly she pops up?

thenightsky · 17/11/2013 20:20

Who else wants to see Carla go down the aisle in an awful monstrosity of a dress just so Hayley stays happy?

FannyMcNally · 17/11/2013 20:49

Aargh! When you think that Brian can't get any worse! He gets awful storylines and plays an awful character. He's such a drip you could be forgiven for thinking he works for Kirk in packing not realising he has a degree and a responsible job. GO TO WALES NOW! YOU WILL NOT BE MISSED!

Bakingnovice · 17/11/2013 21:49

Only corries dire scriptwriters could turn a potentially amazing storyline relating to Hayley's death into a bizarre unsavoury euthanasia storyline. Hayley is being selfish and horrible. The other day she asked Roy why he couldn't show any compassion?! Of all people she should know that one of Roy's attributes is the lack of emotion on the surface. Why have they flip reversed Hayley. I'm looking forward to her end as I can't stand this plot. Why was Hayley acting as if Jane was her best buddy? She's only known her for 5 episodes. And the whole funeral was scripted to convince Roy at every turn that Hayley should get her way. Also, we've all loved Hayley for who she is but the writers are determined to constantly remind us that she was Harold. Forget Harold! It's Hayley we are interested in. I really thought this story would be poignant and heartwarming. Instead it's horrible seeing Roy suffer at the hands of an in characteristically vicious Hayley.

This horrible Hayley plot interspersed with godawful grace and flippin Faye is enough to make me switch off.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 17/11/2013 21:51

Sorry, that was me that mentioned Izzy.

Who was it that Hayley did a wedding dress fir a few years ago?

I fell asleep watching it tonight Confused

Ellenora5 · 18/11/2013 00:35

Bakingnovice, I'm with you, it's not a great storyline anymore, in the beginning it was so sad and we were all tissued up and ready to go for every episode and now it's pants. You are so right about Harold, who cares anymore, certainly not Roy, I can understand her wanting a dignified death but she is not actually acting within her character at the moment and comes across undignified. As for the stupid wedding dress storyline, christ on a bike, how stupid is Carla, to think she will actually walk down the aisle with Peter in the first place, ah it's just getting annoying now.

And, I'm just about ready to wave off Kylie and her kids, you would swear she was some sort of saint to begin with, ehhh, she sold Max to her sister, or have the scriptwriters forgotten that bit, along with the fact that she shagged her brother in law.

I'm taking a deep breath now and will calm self shortly

Bakingnovice · 18/11/2013 06:11

Yes I agree. Re Hayley and Roy, one of the nicest things about their relationship was that Hayley was one if the few people who got Roy. She would never ask Roy to support her decision to kill herself as she knows Roy's way of thinking literally all the time would not support that course of action. They've killed off one if the nicest soap relationships.

As for kylie I couldn't agree more. She was a totally vile character. Sold max, came back and sold him again, and again, broke up beckys marriage slept with nick and is now portrayed as some earth mother. I'm on David's side. Nick deserved what he got. Him and kylie crossed the line.

Really really detest the Tina and Peter storyline.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 18/11/2013 06:55

I am so close to the off switch now.

Todd is a terrible actor and the whole biscuit conversation was forced and unfunny.

The Carla / Peter / Tina story is boring and predictable and Saint Kylie is pissing me off.

I see Audrey is back at her house with no further mention of building or money troubles. Hmm

eddiemairswife · 18/11/2013 11:19

Strange about Audrey's house. I was convinced Owen was up to no good when he said major work needed to be done. Sometimes it seems as if the script writers start a story and then forget all about it. Hasn't Simon got any of his own friends instead of being forced to play with Fay and Grace?

Pegfreak · 18/11/2013 17:18

There was a Doctor Who episode on the telly last night and Todd was in it. I wish he'd go back there. I agree, I'm getting to the stage of not making too much of an effort to catch every episode.

cantheyseeme · 19/11/2013 15:18

At least shes not gonna die at xmas Smile im really excited for the tina/peter thing Grin

cantheyseeme · 19/11/2013 15:20

Also, i was realllly young when todd was first in it, has he always been such a twat?
