Sexy Steve is worth way more than skanky Michelle. I think his next storyline should involve a Cornish lass who becomes a wife that actually reaches wedding anniversaries :o

Did anyone see You Saw Them Here First last night? There was a very young Peter Barlow on there :)

squoosh · 08/08/2013 14:53

Hangonaminute..........................SEXY STEVE???

Lordy.

squoosh · 08/08/2013 14:54

Michelle had the swapped baby storyline and the emotional reunion with her biological son......................who they've never mentioned since! Hmm

Lighthousekeeping · 08/08/2013 14:56

I wonder if Mary will make a move on Roy.

I must've missed one. Does the whole street know about Hayley?

RubberBullets · 08/08/2013 14:57

Less competition is good squoosh :)

JessicaBeatriceFletcher · 08/08/2013 15:03

squoosh - your post proves my point, when did she ever have a decent storyline? That was a shite storyline, nearly everyone I knew thought so, and if it hadn't have been shite, it wouldn't have been conveniently forgotten about.

squoosh · 08/08/2013 15:04

I want to know how she went from being barmaid one day to being head sales woman in a lingerie company the next!

ClartyCarol · 08/08/2013 15:09

Yes everyone knows about Hayley.

Imperial oh I have been moved to tears in the last couple of weeks by the sadness of the Roy and Hayley plot. David Neilson is an excellent actor. It's just (and now I'm going to sound really shallow) something about the set of his facial features which I find unnerving. However I realise down to acting ability as well as having seen the actor being interviewed he is very different to Roy.

Steve and Karen - a classic pairing. Michelle and Steve getting back together just smacked of desperation for something for the characters to do. He unceremoniously dumped her for Becky - as if she'd take him back after that.

ImperialBlether · 08/08/2013 15:10

Like when Gail went from sewing knickers to medical receptionist.

ImperialBlether · 08/08/2013 15:12

Do you notice nobody in Corrie ever gets any training? Doesn't matter whether they're a builder, a machinist, a salesperson, a receptionist ir a a hairdresser/beautician - no training is required.

Nospringchickendipper · 08/08/2013 15:19

That's soap land for you [squoosh]From barmaid to running a company without experience or relevant qualifications.

If only rl was like that I wouldn't be here posting on Mumsnet.

ImperialBlether · 08/08/2013 15:25

It's a bit like, "I can do anything, any job, but what I can't do is get on a bus to go to work. No way. If it's not within spitting distance, I'm not interested."

RubberBullets · 08/08/2013 15:56

I seem to remember that David did go on a training course at some stage for hairdressing. Kirk also trains whoever ends up in packing with him.

Impomea · 08/08/2013 15:57

Would Genna really get sacked from the NHS forever just for her"friendship" with Sophie and never be able to practice as a physio ever
again ?

Shophie gets on my nerves she's now goung to ruin slimy Paul's career
Isn't she supposed to be a Christian?

Love Steve and his one liners ( I wouldn't tho)

squoosh · 08/08/2013 16:00

Jenna's job situation is really irritating me, it was like when Kirsty lost her job with the police and became a knicker packer. No actual disciplinary procedures, just lost their jobs. Really?

ClartyCarol · 08/08/2013 16:01

I think it was classed as gross misconduct.

Sophie can be a pain but she's got lovely hair Grin.

squoosh · 08/08/2013 16:26

Cannot STAND bloody Saw-fee.

ImNotBloody14 · 08/08/2013 17:25

do you know i have been watching corrie for about 20 years now and i cannot for the life of me remember michelle having a swapped baby storyline or a reunion with a biological son. so is ryan not her bio son then?

ClartyCarol · 08/08/2013 17:29

No, her bio son was called Alex. This was when Ryan was played by the lad who looked like a gonk. Ryan got all pally with his bio dad and Michelle felt pushed out, and Alex came to the Rovers for a bit and hung around like a load of wet washing, then buggered off home and was never seen or heard of again.

ImNotBloody14 · 08/08/2013 17:42

wow!! i'm going to have to google image search and see if it triggers the memory for me. thanks clarty.

squoosh · 08/08/2013 17:48

I was watching Celebrity Masterchef last night and I knew that one of the contestants had been in Corrie ages ago, think she was one of Ken Barlow's squeezes, but that's all I could remember.

eddiemairswife · 08/08/2013 18:08

Not many of the youngsters go on to college and university do they? I think Toyah did, and whenever I see her on TV I think, "Toyah's doing well." She was the Head's secretary in 'The History Boys', and had a fling with Dominic Cooper.Envy. And she must have graduated in law, as she's a prosecutor in 'Law and Order'.[I know I'm muddling fact and fiction and TV progs]. The only other one was Amber who got thrown out . Did she come back for Sunita's funeral? I agree about Michelle's mixed up sons - perhaps she's suffering from amnesia.

ClartyCarol · 08/08/2013 18:13

Ryan went to uni in Glasgow and came back a drug addict remember? Confused

ClartyCarol · 08/08/2013 18:14

Oh and didn't Toyah have as stint as a Dr in a certain casualty department or something?

ImperialBlether · 08/08/2013 18:34

He dropped out, Clarty, and I was dying for someone to say, "You'll still have to pay your student loan back" - I'm convinced most people think you don't have to if you drop out.
