cause he's a sinister fucker!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 07/08/2013 20:30

The paramedic was utterly ridiculous.

ImNotBloody14 · 07/08/2013 20:32

yes that was odd to watch- what were they playing at with that? Confused

PaintedBottom · 07/08/2013 20:53

Which paramedic KenDodd? The woman who checked David or the man who was grumpy about David getting in the ambulance (I thought he was needlessly rude).

Headbandy is driving me up the bloody wall. I can't wait til she leaves. Poor Lloyd Sad

PaintedBottom · 07/08/2013 20:56

I recognise the red headed nurse who was telling Leanne to stop prossuring David. Does anyone know who she is?

PaintedBottom · 07/08/2013 20:56

Pressuring**

KenDoddsDadsDog · 07/08/2013 21:43

The grumpy one in the ambulance ! I could have acted that better Grin
Leanne had some cracking sunburn

ClartyCarol · 08/08/2013 00:52

Dunno who the nurse was was but the neurosurgeon had me laughing with her her massively dramatic "Nick needs to have the blood clot removed OR HE WILL DIE!!!" cut to everyone gathered rounds David's bed, bar poor Leanne, looking like they couldn't give two shiny shites to be quite honest. Made me laugh anyway.

ImperialBlether · 08/08/2013 01:04

Was anyone disappointed with Gail's response when Nick was in hospital? She kept saying, "Oh, he'll be alright" - they missed a great opportunity as she would have gone absolutely off the wall if it were real life.

ClartyCarol · 08/08/2013 01:34

Well exactly, that's what I meant. They sat round as if going "Ach, who cares, he'll be fine?" when you'd expect Gail and Audrey to be rending their clothes, gnashing their teeth and wailing out loud. Obviously they were trying to highlight Leanne's distress but it just seemed totally wrong.

Ellenora5 · 08/08/2013 01:35

I fast forward through most of it, would David not have mentioned to the paramedics that he has epilepsy, I would have thought that was pretty important after a car accident, agree that no one seemed to upset about it all, I wonder are all the cast just fed up with the same storylines again and again.

ClartyCarol · 08/08/2013 01:38

I think we are, never mind the cast! At least they get paid for it...

JessicaBeatriceFletcher · 08/08/2013 09:09

I actually think Jack P Shepherd ain't a bad young actor, you know. I certainly think he and Paula Lane (Kylie) are streets ahead of the likes of Chesney, Katie, Ryan, Jenna, Sophie, Izzy, TraceyLuv, Rob, Maria and Kirk.

SweetestThing · 08/08/2013 09:57

I thought that it was strange that nobody got up and put their arm around Leanne when she was so distressed - it was as if they didn't know either her or Nick...

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/08/2013 10:32

I noticed Leanne's sunburn too! Also she was wearing a casual tank top and still managed to look like she was wearing dodgy clothes, and that was supposed to be her 'just chucked it on' clothing. She needs a wardrobe update.

I was actually saying 'shut upppp' when Lloyd and Headband went for a meal, smile woman! Why is Lloyd putting up with that miserable attitude?

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 08/08/2013 10:33

Just catching up on last night's episode.

Please write Mandy out immediately - why was she acting like a complete knob in the Bistro? She also looks like Lloyd's mother - complete lack of any type if chemistry

The only other couple who look more unbelievable is Eileen and smelly trouser fireman. Eileen looks like the Honeymonster attacking him

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 08/08/2013 10:34

Cross posts Desperate Grin

ImNotBloody14 · 08/08/2013 11:22

Jessica I totally agree with you there. he is a fantastic actor and much better than those you listed (especially that Izzy one! Hmm)

agree with others- the reactions from gail etc didn't seem true to character- i'm wondering if it's deliberate to distract/detract from a twist that we wont expect? although i'm not sure what. Confused

ImNotBloody14 · 08/08/2013 11:24

and yes to getting rid of mandy!! she would make you depressed.

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 08/08/2013 14:09

I think the best actor on the show is Roy. The nuances and subtleties he brings to the character are amazing. He always gets overlooked for awards but he's just quietly brilliant.

JessicaBeatriceFletcher · 08/08/2013 14:18

Mandy is going any minute now, thankfully.

Chocs - quite agree. Have said so before. Generally, the older lot wipe the floor with the younger lot in the acting stakes. Because they have range and can do subtlety. I get annoyed sometimes when younger people say some of the older ones "aren't very good actors". They are. It's just that they come from an era where acting was about acting and not just about being very loud and brash and more about the work than turning up for the opening of an envelope and the whole celeb culture. People mistake loud for talent somehow.

One of the things I like about Simon Gregson as Steve is that he generally keeps out of the spotlight. Added to which, I think his character is great. Interesting and on the whole believable.

eddiemairswife · 08/08/2013 14:33

Simon Gregson has got better and better over the years. I think Craig has possibilities. We are going to see more of him in a developing story, and I like it that he isn't the orange eye-candy like so many young actors.

ClartyCarol · 08/08/2013 14:40

I know the character of Roy is very well acted but i have to be shallow and admit he gives me the creeps so I tend not to focus too much on him.

I am getting increasingly distracted by Peter Barlow Wink. Steve is essentially a comedy character which works very well; I can't remember the last time he had a serious storyline.

"Eileen look like the Honeymonster attacking [Paul]" - perfect description!

Mandy is terrifying. How long left now please?

ImperialBlether · 08/08/2013 14:42

Have you not gone past his creepiness (mainly due to his clothing, I think) and seen his vulnerability, Clarty? I could cry for him at times.

JessicaBeatriceFletcher · 08/08/2013 14:42

eddie - I agree. I love his facial expressions. The trouble at the moment is they have paired him off again with Michelle (a really pointless character). He needs another Suranne Jones (Karen) to give him a real dynamic again and that's when his acting chops really come out.

I left Kym Lomas out of my list of poor actors. She's better than some of them, but there's just no use for her character. Has she ever had a truly decent storyline (doesn't need to be a major one, just a decent one)?
