Good morning Tennis cult!

I hope they call the baby = Boris Grin

Anybody having The Great Thunderstorms? We are not. Its very warm here still, cloudy I admit but very warm. I have cut my front grass this morning in anticipation of The Great Rain... I have a great view of the river here and the tide when it comes in, the hills behind it and all that sort of Wales countryside stuff - I love a thunderstorm when it comes up the river as we get to see it rolling in and hitting full pelt - sadly, nothing of the sort is occurring. It sucks.
Once when I was little, a tornado came up the river and we got to see it and it dropped fish into our back garden and the entire area stank of fish and the sky was green!! Ever since I have loved a good storm, a great disaster film with storms and I have wanted to go chasing storms in Kansas! The latter did not quite work out for me Grin
I do wish we could have a ginormous thunder episode so I may watch it and sip coffee and be all excited and happy.

Hello , cult Tennis

Had thunder last night but still feels very warm here. It did rain though. Might have to take a coat to work just in case it decides to rain again. I don't really fancy getting soaked at the bus stop.

Raahh · 23/07/2013 11:30

Morning all!

We got a big storm about 5-6am- and it's rained pretty much ever since. And it's still warm and stuffy. I had hoped it would clear the air, but there is barely a breeze.

Prince Boris of Cambridge does have a ring to it. More interesting than George or James, anywayGrin

ClayDavis · 23/07/2013 18:21

Prince Dustin would be good too.

Didn't rain again. Still too warm and I've now run out of ice cream. At this rate I might have to go and visit my Dad in Istanbul just to cool down.

Raahh · 23/07/2013 19:09

mmmmm Dustin.

They are coming out soon. it's all very excitingCrown

well, seeing the Royal baby has made me very broodyEnvy

It was a lovely little interview

ClayDavis · 23/07/2013 19:37

I seem to have something in my eye.

Raahh · 23/07/2013 19:44

me too, Clay Grin

so we've had a wedding, jubilee and birth over the last 3 summers. What will the Royals do next year? Harry getting married?Grin

ClayDavis · 23/07/2013 19:51

Now that's a stag do I'd like to be on.

They do seem to be setting a precedent. Not sure how they're going to top this.

siezethenight · 23/07/2013 19:55

I missed it all - flipping dd had to have a lift. Grrr, now I am forced to watch News at Ten.

It has not rained here and this afternoon has been as hot and sunny as the last 3 weeks. I don't understand - where's our rain? This is Wales, its meant to rain?

Next - Harry elopes with a lap dancer. She has 4 children from four different fathers. The Queen goes completely into one and refuses to utter a single word for months. Phillip, for once, is stunned into complete silence also. Charles thinks its great and has a pole installed at Buck Palace for Camilla to use as exercise. Anarchy at the palace erupts and David Cameron has to step in cause he steps into everything after all and he is taken to the tower and kept there forever more by an angry Harry, cause he dissed his missus.... Kate and Wills run away and live incognito on a council estate in Birmingham - the third in line to the throne grows up on a skateboard in the communal park with a Bummie accent!
All Hail The Royals!

ClayDavis · 23/07/2013 19:58

Raahh · 23/07/2013 20:01

sieze- i like your version of eventsGrin

ClayDavis · 23/07/2013 20:17

That's how Doctors would do the Royal family. It's suitably WTF.

siezethenight · 24/07/2013 09:02
Tennis How long before the American Open now? I have emailed HRH Kate and requested Boris for a name and warned against Joffrey, you know, Game of Thrones - bad omen, bad.....
ClayDavis · 24/07/2013 10:47
Tennis

The post I wrote just now seems to have disappeared. US Open starts on the 26th August.

siezethenight · 24/07/2013 15:12

Ohhh, clay almost just 30 days time then? I need to know as I need to schedule when to ring Sky up and request a freebie month of sports channels which I then cancel after it all.
I hoe we get the Tennis back for it. That flipping Crown is getting on my pip!

ClayDavis · 24/07/2013 18:22

It's all about timing, seize.

Ooh they've announced the royal baby's name. George Alexander Louis. No massive surprises there.

Raahh · 24/07/2013 19:16

I'm a bit disappointed by the name- nothing wrong with George, but there have been more than enough king George's already. All three names are very popular- I foresee an aibu from Kate soon-' aibu to be upset that I had to give my baby really common names, when I wanted something a bit unusual. Like Neil.'

ClayDavis · 24/07/2013 19:22

Neil would have unusual. You don't get many baby Neils these days. King Neil has a ring to it.

Raahh · 24/07/2013 20:10

King Neil the first is a bit more out there than King George the Gazillionth. I thought Charles was rumoured to be taking George as his 'monarch' name?

Maybe Zara will have a Neil insteadGrin

siezethenight · 25/07/2013 08:39
Tennis Its not a bad name really and there will be a lot of George's born after this so it will become quite common place in about 5 years time. They are pretty much expected to go with tradition on a name I suppose. They can modernise in how they live their lives and so forth but I am guessing the name of the person in line to the throne is regimented and options few.

Now ladies - Dd elder is moving out on Saturday!! She has the house keys already and is painting 2 rooms in the house before she moves her things but... The day is almost upon us - the van is booked. The friends to help are booked. All her belongings and I mean all of them are in my front room, packed up and ready to go.
I almost nearly have offloaded one of the Dc's...

Midwife said yesterday, she doesn't want to say the baby is imminent but if she sees Dd in 2 weeks time for a clinic check-up, she will be surprised.
Younger Dd and I have taken a bet as to her going this weekend while moving out is underway Grin

ClayDavis · 25/07/2013 09:10

That seems a fairly safe bet.

I think George is becoming more popular any way. A colleague at works baby is George and I think it was either top 10 or top 20 a couple of years ago. Something really out there would have been good. Just to counteract the Mumsnet line that if you give a child an unusual name they'll never be respected as a doctor or lawyer.

GameSetAndMatch · 25/07/2013 19:41

Dustin fans, he wasjust on ATP tour uncovered on Skysports 3!

siezethenight · 26/07/2013 08:59
Tennis I have a Rio, she's a girl. When she was born the midwife asked what her name was? I told her. She said I could not do that to a child, I had to call her Rhea... By today's standards, Rio is tame! We can not find a flipping Coke bottle with her name on it though!

Ahhh, Dustin... Memories... Sigh...
