Thats great Raah. really is.

we're going to have to start a new thread soon, as we're all waiting for the next tournament. I may namechange for the month and Game will come back for the tennis. or maybe not.

a thread about 'lets make time and chit chat till the next tournament and share tennis gossip as and when we hear it etc etc' !

ClayDavis · 11/07/2013 20:01

seixe, I know this isn't the thread for this but I can't be bothered to start a new thread either. As an NHS worker, with a pay firze and the loss of incremental pay increase, they can, as the MN saying goes, fuck off the far side of fuck, with their 11% pay rise. And when they get there, they can fuck off some more.

Hello cult. Tennis

siezethenight · 12/07/2013 08:37

Morning cult Tennis
raahh Oh My God - so happy for you.... New Balls!? Nah, raahh has got them Grin well, one!
Rainbow? Is that a children's play scheme? My Ds used to go to one for Autistic kids when he was little - an absolute Godsend.

clay It made me so cross yesterday - on behalf of all civil servants - my friend here has worked in DVLA since we left school and is so fed up with it all she wants redundancy but then they said they are slashing redundancy pay - think about it, 16 she started there, she's 42 now - she was completely angry and said not even her being made redundant after all these years would help her out in retraining and being able to pay her and kids bills. She, as you can imagone, said that if she said one thing about that news report yesterday she was likely to vomit halfway through her sentence.

And a final rant this fine Friday morning - why do politicians insist on referring to the public as 'ordinary' people - and they are what? Extraordinary? Can they not just refer to us as 'the public' ''ordinary people want....'
Ah, shut up with it all you plebs Grin Don't call me ordinary - I am far from it. And quit telling the world what I want without coming to talk to me about it first.

Aside from that - yesterday was a low day here - I really, really missed the tennis and was quite maudlin all day long.

Witt · 12/07/2013 11:29

Morning sieze, morning Raahh. Just been out for a lovely walk which was ruined at the end by some idiot parking across the pavement so I had to take my pram out into the traffic to get round Angry. I took a photo on my mobile so I'm wondering if I can report it to the police/DVLA.

Tennis
siezethenight · 12/07/2013 14:28

witt Angry for you - my stepfather was in a wheelchair and we used to have to go onto the roads to pass cars parked up on pavements - Its fine if there is enough pavement but life is geared to car drivers today (and I am one!!) they get up on pavement to clear the road for cars to flow without having to stop - uh, and the people on pavements you plebs!? I have given my great sarcasm to many a parker in my time Grin
You could try the police? Don't think DVLA will do much about it, not sure they can.
Its so hot here today I can barely even stand it. Have had a headache that has lasted for 3 days now. Once I acclimatise to this, watch it bloody rain...
Rainbows before Brownies before Guides? Crikey! Smile I whacked my girls into the Air Force Cadets as soon as they hit 13 - great grounding for them, great discipline and no wandering of the streets at night - hurrah!
I want ice cream but am on diet!
I want Tennis

Witt · 13/07/2013 09:07

Morning everyone Tennis

sieze I agree, I thought at the time it would be even more of a pain for someone in a wheelchair to get round.

I hope everyone had lovely weekends planned. There are a couple of village fetes that we're hoping to go to today.

Have a lovely day everyone. Tennis Tennis

CatsAndTheirPizza · 13/07/2013 12:07

Just popping in to say good morning Tennis. One week ago ... seems like a lifetime away.

ClayDavis · 13/07/2013 12:47

Popping in to say hello as well. Tennis. It's gone very quiet in here.

We are all in mourning clay

Too busy a weekend, in this heat. Having to run dd to theater for her performance this afternoon and evening plus meet her later for her break so she's not sat on her own. We were up at 6 Shock
Tomorrow is Wales National Air Show, she's a Corporal so has to be there. Up again at 6 tomorrow for that however - I have cried off watching it - have seen that many air shows in my time thanks to her and elder Dd that I am stopping home after dropping her off. Its far, far too hot outside to spend hours looking u pat the sky - got freckles galore last year Grin
Her theater is right by Swansea Bay where the air show is - traffic bedlam, had to flirt with man from the Uni this morning to get him to let me into his car park today at 4 when I go meet Dd and not charge me parking for it as there are signs up all over the place saying parking charges for Air Show - groan... The theater is in the Uni Smile

Raahh · 13/07/2013 14:32
Tennis

it's still warm here. Dcs are bickering over the world's smallest paddling pool which was the only one we could get.Grin

In some ways the week has gone very quickly. Not nearly as quickly as the past year- nearly 12 months since the Olympics- unbelievable.

GameSetAndMatch · 13/07/2013 18:39

managed to track some tennis down. thursday 6.30 sky sports 4.ATP Tour uncovered.

all the Wimbledon news, yipee Grin Sad no more Tennis

GameSetAndMatch · 13/07/2013 18:52

okay get me a life!

im even jumping for joy if Federers Gillette advert comes on tv JUST cos its connected to tennis!!! how sad am I?

GameSetAndMatch · 13/07/2013 20:38

Coach alert!!!!

shriekapovas hired Jimmy Connors as her new coach!

Hope he tells her to zip her mouth, but then again he could be a grunter too in his day!

Raahh · 13/07/2013 20:53

Game I just saw that an came on to say similar. I like ConnorsSad Shrieky would annoy me.

Raahh · 13/07/2013 20:54

He was a grunter- but he put a lot more effort in than ShriekyGrin

GameSetAndMatch · 13/07/2013 21:07

and was more watchable! and funny! and not a poser!

Raahh · 13/07/2013 21:16

AbsolutelyGrin

He was brilliant to watch, a real character.

Didn't he coach Roddick at one time?

GameSetAndMatch · 13/07/2013 21:31

he did, Raah. he coached shrieka before too, the year she won the US open.

was lamenting this afternoon last week was the ladies final! and tomorrow will be a week since the mens !

so Robson/Watson/ward/ and the rest of the brits should have top players as coaches as Lendl did for Andy.

but they prob cant afford them, so back to basics again.

not saying their current coaches are not up to scratch but Lenld managed what many others couldnt IYKWIM

Raahh · 13/07/2013 22:00

Lendl has done a great job, and there is a lot of respect there, but neither are given to being too gush-y about stuff. They are well matched- I hope it lasts.

ClayDavis · 13/07/2013 22:02

Lendl managed to change Andy's mental attitude. That's where his other coaches had struggled. I'm not sure Robson/Watson have that sort of specific issue to deal with.

Witt · 14/07/2013 09:12

Morning everyone. I refuse to give up on this thread or Tennis!

Just realised I am stuck at home today as DH had taken the car to work. This was all agreed but it still didn't occur to me I couldn't go out to the supermarket until I walked out to the garage and realised we couldn't both have the car at the same time!

Going to stick the baby in the pram and go for a walk instead and then hope she doesn't mind something boring for lunch like mashed swede.

siezethenight · 14/07/2013 09:33

How the heck are you people getting to find tennis and news about tennis?
Don't leave this thread whatever you do - you are my only source of all things [TENNIS].
Lucky you staying in witt don't walk too far, its very hot. I have to go and watch the Air Show from midday, only the hottest time of the entire day. Went to meet DD for a very late lunch at the Uni yesterday and we watched the Red Arrows go overhead - they drew a heart in the sky with their white, red and blue stuff and put a cupid's arrow through it - aghhhh... Got to go see them again today. Hope they do it again, will try to take a pic of it!

Witt · 14/07/2013 09:46

Enjoy the air show sieze. If you manage to pull off the photo then you have to add it to your profile - we'll all want to see it!

How close is your daughter's due date now?

Raahh · 14/07/2013 13:46

Afternoon everyone.
Hope you are enjoying the sun, and sieze you are enjoying the air show.

I get most of my tennis info via the atp website, and the bbc. I read any old rubbishGrin
The German Open, in Hamburg starts tomorrow, a fair number of big names play there. Not as many since it was downgraded from a masters event, but Federer usually plays there.
