morning everyone. Tennis

Tennis We've had bad news. It would appear, on the surface, the estate agent dealing with Dd's flat has pulled a fast one. After verbally telling DD and partner they both earned enough to get the flat, informing them to get it they had to pay estate agency fee. They waited a week after taking the money from them (me actually, it was my money that paid their fee) before informing them that they had to pay more money as a fee as they did not earn enough between them to pay for the flat Hmm I have emailed the agency and written a letter of complaint asking for the near 300.00 back and informing them we would be going to the Property Ombudsman to complain if not as there was a witness to their verbal assurances and their asking for money to secure the flat. Its very underhand of them. Anyhow, as luck would have it, a house became available to rent just around the corner from where I live and 3 doors from Dd's best friend's mum so they are talking to that chap about it on Saturday as he is away until then, it looks promising as its a case of so-and-so knows so-and-so and this is a private rent, no estate agents so while Dd sorts that - I fight the agency for the return of money. I think everything happens for a reason, perhaps she was meant to live close to me and to friends? But still am pretty pissed at the estate agency... I have given them 8 weeks to repay the cash and the only communication is written, no phonecalls, no emails. Grrrr... Tennis
Raahh · 17/07/2013 10:12

oh sieze- Sad and Angry on your behalf. Your dd really doesn't need the extra stress- what a crappy thing to happen! Hope you get it sorted soon.

Tennis Best way to catch a stray dog is to be patient and strike when appropriate raahh I will get this cash back and I will be patient about it. Told Dd to leave it to me, not to dwell on it, to sort out the house for herself and partner pdq as last night she was having pains every 5 mins which stopped after 2 hours so, a dry run for birth maybe? I am fuming on the quiet but they are both feeling so lousy about it all that I can't bring myself to kick off big time while they are in earshot, it was not their fault at all. The new house is owned by a chap in the army who is back in Swansea Saturday. They have spoken on the phone last night. He also owns the house next door and the tenant in that has spoken to him on Dd's behalf so fingers crossed and he wants a family in there as early as 25th of this month so he can get back to his army job possibly? We shall see how it all progresses. All I know is, I have a front room full of packed up belongings and they have no place to go to as of right now. I am being very annoyingly positive while long faces live all around me. I reckon you have to keep positive and smile to get through shit so I smile on - like a demented person Grin And still no Tennis to watch...
Raahh · 17/07/2013 12:54

sieze - sounds like you have the right attitudeGrin

I've got to go to the school sport's day. It is too hot to be hanging around with dd2 all afternoon. Am going armed with lots of semi frozen water bottles and big hatsGrin

GameSetAndMatch · 17/07/2013 17:29

thought when i read 1st bit of your post, Sieze it was a prob with your DDs pregnancy so thank God it wasnt that eh?

I can totally empathise re estate agents/landlords as weve been p about many many times by them.

hope you get sorted.

ClayDavis · 17/07/2013 20:01

Hope your DD gets the house sorted, seize and that you manage to get the money back for her. I'm sure she could do without all the hassle right now.

I could really do with some Tennis to watch this evening. It's been that sort of a day.

GameSetAndMatch · 17/07/2013 20:19

a week and a half after WImbledon Tennis and we're still here!
going into other talking territory but its nice, its like a good coffee morning natter!

atp tour uncovered tomorrow for Wimbledon report folks, dont (Guy) forget!!

GameSetAndMatch · 17/07/2013 20:21

and ive thought of a 'cooler' name for when the US opens on.

well, not cooler, but different and a play on words! will say i used to be Game though so youll know its me!

lets see if i remember it by then! Tennis.

only a few weeks for the US open and skysports will start showing the pre-tourns soon -I hope.

ClayDavis · 17/07/2013 21:01

Sadly, I don't have sky, so I'm going to need to work out some way to watch it.

NotAQueef · 17/07/2013 21:55

Hey, you're all still here!
Still on a post wimbo come down. What's the next tourny? I usually stream online using dodgy links if not shown on eurosport.

Raahh · 18/07/2013 08:58

Not - dh is the master of dodgy links finding alternative ways to watch things. Grin So I am hoping I will see some of the US open- maybe the Beeb will step up it's coverage with the Murray-effect, and the fact he's defending champ. Would be silly not to, reallyGrin

Hamburg is on at the moment, think the Roger's cup(Canadian open) is next week. Of course, last year was the Olympics, which won't happenSad.

I'm hoping today will be a bit cooler. Tennis

siezethenight · 18/07/2013 10:24
Tennis Morning cult. Coffee crew Game Tell us your new name, come on... Grin Is it Balls on fire? Great balls of fire? Didn't the bbc show some of Murray's games last year as he made his way to the final in American Open? Or was it Itv? I am almost certain I saw something but it was late and I went to bed. Not sure.

How was sports day raahh were you overly hot? I spent yesterday in kitchen with blinds shut working on some plans. I dare go out the back door for anything - I went to chuck some plastic in the recycling and almost needed sunscreen to do that! It was literally cooking hot. My poor cats now send all afternoon and evening flat out on the tiles on kitchen floor and we have opened up the understairs door for them to go sleep as well - Boris doesn't mind the feline company - as its the darkest and coolest place in the house. Downstairs is livable - upstairs is constantly a furnace. Everybody around me is as brown as a nut and I am very pale as I slather cream on if I have to go out and never sit in sun at all, never sunbath. But I like the sun. I am odd.

BBMs · 18/07/2013 12:11

Hello ladies!
Been away for a few days coz a friend of mine died :( and I'm also doing a juice fast... So haven't been checking the Internet.
Good news on one side tho, my DH found a 50%off discount voucher on money saving expert for a full year of sky with sky sports package! So they are coming to set up the dish next Saturday! And we are finally getting rid of Virgin. Really excited about the possibility of watching more tennis :)
Hope you are all doing well, I'm gonna go and get my "mean green" juice and try to drink it before the end of the day Grin

siezethenight · 18/07/2013 13:38

bbm Been with Sky for decades, a seriously long time because when we have moved, they just come out and install the equipment free of charge in new property. I like that. A lot. They could be making money there, they chose not to.

We've never had issues with them hard selling packages, you know, calling up I mean and asking if we want this or that as well, even for a trial.
When we moved here, the Sky chap, as he was up on roof doing a dish, also sorted out the tv ariel that was there and drilled me a hole in kitchen wall so we could get Tv on freeview in there and never charged for it.
I really like Sky. You should be okay with them and what a great offer to begin with them, 50% off!
I am sorry to hear about your friend - condolences Sad We have had a lot of people pass away in the family over the last 5 years, so much so, its not a shock or a surprise anymore if we hear something, its not so nice to be hardened to hearing grief and sad news. To open up the front door to somebody and say to them, 'Who and what is it?' You can tell from their faces it is something bad and the fact they are at front door - bizarrely, they come to back door for all other things.
Good luck with that juice diet. Is it easier because its hot out? So you don;t feel much like cooking actual food and then eating it as its too much in the heat? Do you miss lollies? Grin

siezethenight · 18/07/2013 13:40

[TENNIS] Boosh!

ClayDavis · 18/07/2013 18:44

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Sorry, just needed to get that out.

ClayDavis · 18/07/2013 18:44

Oops, forgot Tennis

GameSetAndMatch · 18/07/2013 18:59

why the AAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH?????

If you want to play a stupid Tennis game, maybe you can help decide what to call myself for next tournament?

youll prob tell me to stick with what i have with a slight tweak to it! Tennis

ClayDavis · 18/07/2013 19:10

Sorry. Really crap day at work. Had no where else to let it out. Not sure why it is every one else can make a mistake on a weekly basis and it's fine, I make the same mistake once and it's a sign of emerging mental health issues so I now have to work supervised because I obviously can't cope with the stress.

I so need a new job. This is getting ridiculous now.

I'm a bit out of inspiration tonight. Was thinking of a name change myself.

GameSetAndMatch · 18/07/2013 19:36

Clay been in exactly same position before. sorry you had a bad day.

have a Wine and a whine with us Tennis!

you going to have tennis namechange? youll have to tell us!

ClayDavis · 18/07/2013 19:56

Of course I'll tell you lot if I do. Grin. Sadly, me, wine and anti depressants don't mix that well. Might have to settle for ice cream and something funny to watch in the absence of Tennis.

Stupid thing is if my boss had pointed it out and asked why it happened and if it was because I was struggling it would be fine. Now I just feel like everyone's waiting for me to fuck up so they can go look you're not well. Although I have to admit, probably didn't handle it in a way that makes it look like I'm fine and can cope.
