I don't envy Kim Sears. There has been a bit of gentle bitching on another thread about her not having a 'proper job'. Today I tried on the dress she wore for one of the Wimbledon matches - floral Zara number. It was lovely, but hot, not natural fibres, and so tight across the neck I thought I may pass out. I can think of things I would rather do for a living than stand in a hot, garrotting dress, watching the man I love go through hell!

I got this, this evening at the stage door of theater that dd younger is performing in this next few days - when I was asked when it was my turn to be chaperoning the children? I replied, I am not. And I got that then silence. Then people moved away - they actually moved away as if I had said, 'Hey - I have herpes!'
Hope their judgy pants slipped down when dd walked out and they saw she was 16 and not like their kids - primary school age! Chaperoning 16 years olds from her drama class - they would kill me, imagine their shame!?

I flounced off with great grace. And ignored them all as I went by.

Might finish watching the Andy Murray doc today as the baby decided I shouldn't watch it yesterday afternoon as she had bouncing and playing that needed mummy's close attention not half-attention

Got to cut grass today, run younger dd about to drama practice then show then home at stupid o'clock tonight. And be home when dd has her three piece delivered and stored in our front room - I hate upheaval. Will have to help lug the thing in as well, she can't lift a feather right now and its hot here already. Will need at least 5 showers today to remain somewhat less beetroot looking and smelly! Two weeks and counting till she is off with all her stuff and I can breath a bit easier and begin to sort out the mess she leaves in her wake - destroyed front room, bedrooms to sort out... Watch the baby come right then meaning I live in chaos for days on end as am too busy cooing and fussing a small baby! Can somebody tell me what coverage of American Open is like on Sky Sports? Before I make the decision to call them and ask for a trial? I will be starting college on Sept 2nd and have to go in that first week for the full week days and do sports things and all sorts of that type of malarkey to 'bond with other students' so if I am going to be knackered whilst this is going on because of I want to know its worth it.

Do you only get the main court matches? Do you get side court matches with lesser known players? does Boris go?
Anybody ever watched it throughout the whole tournament?

Sky tend to use rudseski(sp) anabel croft tim pops up sometime. Mark petchy and leif shiras. I don't think I've seen boris.

I'm guessing with Andy being defending champion, they will boost their coverage. They do multi screen options too. But only use one channel to broadcast on.usually sky sports 2, but that's the ashes channel just now hate cricket!

DSIS always does a sky trial for the US open tennis and cancels it straight after.

Thanks for the info on Sky, am pondering it. Might be a tough ask with college starting and the night match being on here at stupid o'clock, we shall see. I've watched a couple of tennis matches on Sky ( thanks to my lovely neighbours, who are tennis fans) & I thought the quality of the picture & camera work was very poor compared to BBC.

It felt like there were far fewer cameras so less angles to see shots from & not so many slo-mo repeats.

sky sports and eurosport coverage okay... If you want tennis, you get tennis! better than ITV coverage anyway.

I've got Wimbledon ball!

Dd goes to Rainbows, and one ofthe helpers goes to Wimbledon every year (lucky and last year and this, during the Rainbows, they played tennis themed games and all got prizes. So I have 2 tennis balls now- stamped 2012 and 2013, and amuse myself fantasising as to whose shorts pocket they have been in. (Probably no-ones really, but it's nice to dream)

Sadly DD1 leaves this summer Couple of years before DD2 can hopefully add to my collection

we went to the tennis shop near the courts a couple of years ago and the shop owner was so taken by MinGame he gave a gift of an official ball and an Andy Murray poster.

Game- how lovely- I love stories like that. When ds was about 2, we weregoing to a stately home, and for some bizarre reason, the ticket woman gave him an alligator on a spring. It kept him amused all the way around

We have a Roland Garros 2012 ball that someone who was tidying the court threw to us as we were waiting foolishly on an outside court 2 hours before play started because I can't read a programme Makes me smile when I see it.

One day I will take my balls and get them signed. I will. I have promised myself.

I'm a little sad that dd didn't also get a tin, but I am very happy with my balls. Their Rainbows leader is an absolute saint of a woman- she's also a one to one at dcs school. She is great- takes absolutely no rubbish and the kids adore her. Very, very generous woman.
