If we keep using Tennis do you think they'll reinstate it? We could just refuse to stop until they do. Maybe have a sit-in on this thread.

So there.
Off to get dressed before food delivery man arrives - yes I know, spoiled or what? Don't want to scare the chap with my no makeup and bed hair and scruffy attire... Its too hot to bother to go fight in the actual shop. And I am lazy, obviously!

Raahh · 10/07/2013 09:53

Good morning! This is going to run and run, isn'tit?

Someone will start an AIBU about us (if they haven't already)- aibu to think some of the people on the Wimbledon thread need to get out more?

as for cricket- all that effort for a teeny weeny pot of probably cigarette ash. Get a proper trophy!

ClayDavis · 10/07/2013 10:01

I used to be the scorer at school, because I was crap at sport. It involved sitting under a tree, not watching the action, and making up the runs at the end. Set me in good stead for doing the same, when watching dh play softballGrin

ClayDavis · 10/07/2013 10:41

I'm completely crap at sport, no co-ordination whatsoever. Love to watch it though.

NigellasGuest · 10/07/2013 10:48

i like cricket, especially Ashes cricket Grin

siezethenight · 10/07/2013 10:50
Tennis I can hear the school up the road having sports day - I wonder if they are playing a Tennis tournament. I was good at rounders! I could catch any ball anywhere so you'd think I would be good at and like cricket but no - I like Tennis

I thought cricket was dull until I went to a twenty20 match and it was really exciting but obviously not as good as tennis

My grandad loved cricket (well most sports ) so I used to sit with him and watch and everytime I fell asleep.

We used to organise a game of cricket at the beach . . . .then baggsy furthest fielder in the sea spot. Great when it was kids playing but then some dad would step in and hit the ball half way to bloody Turkey and you know what men are like . . . .once one has done that they have to go one better.
So I don't like watching or playing.

I was pants at sport but loved playing tennis , badminton and netball. We had THE best games teacher , she was lovely.Never had a go if you were pants and best of all she organised trips to Wimbledon on middle Saturday . Leaving school at midnight , joining the queue at silly o'clock and we never left Wimbledon till around 8/9pm . No wonder we loved her.

We had the butchest Pe teacher in the world, she was a complete nut. Made us go out to play hockey in all weathers. Yelling and shouting and God forbid you did not have the correct kit...
My Grandfather used to go to bed in the afternoons this time of year and listen to cricket on the radio. It was summer as I remember summer to be when growing up - sigh... Hope he is listening to it up there on his fluffy cloud! Smile Think my Nan put her foot down about having it on the telly - she used to sit in living room while he was in bedroom with radio watching Daytime Tv as it was back then, Take the High Road and that Court program that used to be on.

I'm in my late 50's & still don't understand a thing about cricket!

I want tennis. NOW!

Raahh · 10/07/2013 14:05

stila- your teacher sounds amazing! We had a complete cow bag of a woman in secondary school- she really wasn't interested in being inclusive or trying to encourage interest in non-sporty types. She was just ranty and unpleasant. Blimey, i hated p.e.

siezethenight · 10/07/2013 16:01

My Pe teachers twin sister raahh?
I have just spent 2 hours sitting in Swansea Civic Center with my neighbour renewing his blue disability badge - its a scintillating place, its got a sea view and all windows look onto - the car park and Prison opposite Confused Bad planning - although, on the other hand they could go, 'Now you benefit persons (its also the housing and council tax benefit office!) Lie to us about your claim or your right to a blue badge? That's where you'll go!' Points across road to prison and nods vigorously. Grin

siezethenight · 10/07/2013 20:02

Remember this time last week..? [cry] Tennis and no diet back then - ahhh, those were the days.
[TENNIS]
There was some news coverage today where Virginia Wade was mentioned as in, Andy Murray, first British winner since Fred Perry Hmm What about Virginia....
But it was clutching at straws I say, clutching at straws. It was about for about a nano-second then was gone to the Ashes.
What I would not do right now for a dreaded rain delay - even if the roof was broken, I would take it as it would mean there was still Tennis on after the rain.
