As it says really - the old thread is nearly full, so here's a continuation for those of us watching on C4 on Sundays. Please, no spoilers - not even vague ones!

If you've watched the whole if season one already, there's a naughty corner another thread over there -->

LOL at 4 candles

I really hope there is a satisfactory conclusion and closure
All a bit much recently with unsatisfactory endings of progs I have been addicted to: Broadchurch and the Fall are 2 which spring to mind.

DH is rather dismissive of my hopes -with the oversimplified explanation 'it's french = of course there won't be a nice easy ending" Grin

Oooh really enjoyed catching up with the latest ep last night.
Thoughts:

  1. will we see how they all die? Camille, yes. Victor, yes. Simon - so far implied. Mme Costa - unknown. Serge, yes.
  2. Is Julie a revenue or not? Didn't have the bottle to test out her theory - loved her conversation with Mme Costa. However it didn't "appear" that she died when we saw the flashback to Toni rescuing her and dumping her at l'hopital.
  3. Don't think Thomas killed Simon - same reason as missmakes mentions above.
  4. Dead animals just weird the way they were suspended (but was hoping we would see all the things mentioned by the children).
  5. Mme Costa told Julie that she would see Victor after he had done what he needs to do... is that confront Pierre? Do they each have a mission - Mme Costa also made a comment about why they were there.
  6. Poor Serge really battling with inner demons to not eat Lena!
  7. Does this film en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Horde give a clue to the meaning of the last episode?

Ready for the next one now!!

Loving your sympathy for serial-killing serge battling his urges, flatmouse! Are you Lord Longford in disguise?

Hmmm. I hadn't noticed the power station flooding. Banks of monitors and switches bore me so I think I must tune out those bits Grin I still recall lights flickering round Camille as she walked back from the dam the first time and wasn't there a powercut the evening all the revenues revenued?

It's a hackneyed theme in zombieworld though so I may well be barking up the wrong tree.

I still think Victor has top trumps on powers with all the murderers he seems to be able to conjure up out of nowhere. Victor is a key player IMO

anonacfr · 09/07/2013 13:27

We only have Thomas' word that there are witnesses to Simon' suicide though.
The priest is repeating what Thomas told him.

I still think the whole thing is off.

Ladytron · 09/07/2013 14:35

How did Lena get the gash down her back?

Aethelfleda · 09/07/2013 18:52

Ady*, according to Lena's dad, he hit her and she fell downstairs or something during an argument a year ago (so 3 years after the coach crash) and it caused a wound, which healed at the time but is now mysteriously opening up/scarring up/rotting (niiice). Probably due to the fact the twins are physically linked, I'm guessing: as the dead don't stay wounded, maybe she as a living mirror now can't heal properly? Or maybe Camille had a wound in her back due to the crash that we don't know about?

I'm still touting for the village at the centre of the dam being the epicentre for something eeeeevil that has played havoc with the laws of passing over so that every "unnatural" death leads to a return.....

IdaBlankenship · 09/07/2013 21:52

Can I join you all on this thread. I'm the only person I know in RL who is watching this which is frustrating.

I agree that the underwater village has to be the epicentre of all the weirdness, especially as the bus crashed over the original dam wall. Also the kids comments about the goat underwater - another child mentioned a beaver and I thought in the first shot of the floating animals there was a beaver there also? My first thought was that the animals had Returned but as the village was underwater, they all drowned.

I knew Pierre was a bad'un, but I reckon Jerome is a goodie although they have been wrongfooting us with thoughts of him using Lucy as a prostitute and hitting Lena (there is surely more to that story)

WinkyWinkola · 10/07/2013 06:35

Also only watching it weekly.

I don't think Jerome has been using Lucy as a prostitute. I think he wanted a connection with a young girl to comfort him over the loss of his daughter.

The animals returned from the ground of the submerged but straight into the water.

Why aren't Lena's parents totally freaking out more about her disappearance?

Why is Simon almost oblivious to his daughter when he asks his fiancée to leave on the bus?

The serial killer (forget his name) totally totally makes my flesh crawl. I KNOW he's supposed to. His brother needs to do him in again.

WinkyWinkola · 10/07/2013 06:37

Thomas is a wrong 'un.

IdaBlankenship · 10/07/2013 08:23

I thought that about Lena's parents also - surely if you'd already lost one daughter you'd be near frantic with worry. I always thought it funny that no-one thought originally to go to the police or hospital when Camille came back to say "look my dead daughter is here, just thought I'd mention it in case things get seriously weird further down the line!"
Everyone seems very accepting of dead people coming back - surely Julie would be all WTF to Mme Costa.

YY to Thomas being a wrong 'un - he has a serious voyeurism habit

Chivetalking · 10/07/2013 10:42

Totally agree about Thomas and am amazed Adele didn't freak out more when she discovered the cameras. Also amazed as to how she hadn't spotted them before. They are everywhere Shock

Actually the whole place seems to be bristling with them. V. odd for such a sleepy little Alpine town Confused

MisguidedAngel · 10/07/2013 11:49

I've lost the plot here (of threads, just about hanging on in LesRevs). I found the link to Canal+, virtual tour of town etc. but not the newspaper article, letter, other stuff mentioned somewhere a while back. Can someone post a link? Or a link to the naughty thread if more appropriate for me to ask there? Can't find that either.

TheReturnoftheSmartArse · 10/07/2013 12:38

I wonder if the wound on Lena's back could be symbolic of Camille having stabbed her in the back by having sex with her boyfriend (assuming the switcheroo theory has some credence)?

IdaBlankenship · 10/07/2013 14:02

My take on it, is that Camille's return to the living is using Lena's energy - the more Camille embraces life (drinking, kissing Frederick) the weaker Lena becomes (collapsing in the underpass). I think the scar must be related to the way Camille died and not to do with whatever occurred with Jerome.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/07/2013 17:56

misguided angel - here is link for the naughty thread with translations

naughty thread

but some feel that if you read ,it ruins and gives away plots in the future

i didnt think it ruined it, but im blonde Grin

BlackAffronted · 11/07/2013 09:54

So, who do we think is old enough to have lived in the old village?

Pierre obviously
Serge
Toni
Claire
Jerome
Thomas

anyone else?

IdaBlankenship · 11/07/2013 09:58

Not sure about Serge and Toni - he strikes me as a recent Rev.
Mme Costa and Victor for sure. Maybe Lucy?

Msbluebozooka · 11/07/2013 12:34

Victor been back before tho am i wrong here wasn't he the reason the bus crashed ?

IdaBlankenship · 11/07/2013 14:37

Yes he was standing in the middle of the road when Camille was freaking out on the bus.

Msbluebozooka · 11/07/2013 16:42

So the whole village has been haunted for years with dead coming back and forward. Basically Victor is to blame for all the kids on the bus dead
IdaBlank i was with you on the Lena and Camille thing but can't be because how are the others getting their energy? If so the whole plot is mad.
There better be a * good ending cos my heads in a whirl thinking about it.One theory I had was the whole of the village was dead by the Dam flooding again and they did'nt realise it so there relatives came back from the dead to tell them but then i thought rubbish why the chosen few.Just a thought it gets you like this doesn't it!!!

Msbluebozooka · 11/07/2013 16:56

Also why did Pierre kill Victors family in his twenties what did they know
what was he after or trying to hide.

rosy71 · 11/07/2013 21:17

I like the idea of Camille taking Lena's energy but it doesn't fit the others. I wondered whether they'd returned because they hadn't been meant to die - someone else was responsible. So, Lena being with Frederic caused Camille to make the bus crash; Serge was buried by Toni; Victor was murdered; Simon killed by Thomas?? and something between Mr and Mrs Costa. But, why was Victor there when the bus crashed????? I also hope the endings good because I can't work out what it could be atm!

IdaBlankenship · 11/07/2013 21:19

Maybe Camille and Lena are different as they are twins and obviously have some sort of twin psychic thing going on (also Lena should have been on the bus)?
