As it says really - the old thread is nearly full, so here's a continuation for those of us watching on C4 on Sundays. Please, no spoilers - not even vague ones!

If you've watched the whole if season one already, there's a naughty corner another thread over there -->

Marking my place also.

Good point Liz but the reason I thought Camille and the coach didn't go in the water was because I thought I remembered her saying she woke up on the mountain?

And for some reason for which I have no evidence whatsoever I'm thinking the returned are coming back from the place where they die.

As for everything else, I have no idea. I Honky know the names of serge and toni from reading the other thread! Although I still think Camille chomped on the animal in the bin and Victor ate cat woman

Honky????? How the buggery did my phone auto correct only to honky? Hmm

'Ullo. I'm here. As is my propensity for over-thinking everything and GCSE-level French.

Although it appears I have Le Skillz at deducing what is actually implied in the dialogue, far better than the really quite basic subtitles. I think it comes from the Spiral marathon (on DVD) and accidentally turning off the subtitles and not being able to turn them back on again till the final episode. Improved my franglais no end.

PMSL at Honky.

Are you being racialist, NoHank?

I think Simon was killed by Adele's 'now' hubby to be, the police officer. Cos he's very, very obsessed with her, all those CCTV cameras in their house!

My phone might be, certainly not me!

I wish I had a glimmer of francais in my vocabulary. I get the feeling I'm missing loads with just the subtitles. And while you're reading them you're missing the subtle looks and and what not between the characters that enhance the story.

Still loving though!

Oh god oh god oh god. I meant that in a 'French go haw-hee-haw-hee-haw' (oh what a horrific juvenile 'joke' that is)

I've had Wine. I realise how that ^ could be misconstrued. I'm dying here, really I am.

Sorry sorry sorry sorry a million times sorry Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush Blush

Sorry smegs not really sure why you're so apologetic?

I really don't think you've offended anyone, honest. Although I've had a Wine or two myself so may be missing something!

If it was about my auto correct I got what you meant. Although it really was a genuine mistake! I must have pressed the h key before typing out only and that's what my sodding phone came up with!

DH pointed out a non-pc interpretation of 'honky'. So the very fact that I linked it to racism was pretty bad, IYKWIM. I mean, I realise it's aimed at white people but it's not like that makes it any better.

I feel so very bloody stupid Blush

Re the subtitles- they are strangely annoying. The dialogue itself is rather basic and easily translate-able but the subtitles are often not quite accurate.

As an example they might say in French 'if that's what you think' but the subtitle will say 'if that's what you want'. So there'll be a slightly different nuance in the translation.
It's seriously annoying me.

Me too anon. I've noticed the same thing. There's a sloppy overuse of "see you soon", when it's not always exactly that, e.g "see you at home" or similar.

Don't dwell on it Smegs I don't think anyone thinks you were being racist.

re the subtitles, I can't speak French other than bonjour and voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir which I find is usually enough , so I hope I'm not missing too much?

You're not really missing much with the subtitles. It's just irritating but not misleading.

I've got quite good at subtitles - I watch loads of those Sky Arts foreign dramas. I dip down, read it quickly and then watch the acting. I get stupidly proud if I manage to pick up a difference between the speech and the subtitles.

I still miss loads though - what's the bin-thing everyone's talking about? I don't remember a bin at all.

Camille's mum found a dead, bloody cat(?) in the kitchen bin, recoiled in revulsion then never mentioned it again, because everything is fine, dead daughters coming back - normal, mauled carcasses is the bin - normal, etc etc.

I'm french and not offended smegs, don't beat yourself up.
The main difference that i have seen between the subtitles and what they say is mainly that they swear like troupers in french. Shame as subtitled taratino movies are how i learnt most of my english swear words. Grin

Yay it's on tonight!

They're ghosts crossed with zombies, sort of, aren't they? More normal than usual zombies, but angry, eating animals, killing people... I think Victor is an old zombie, and he made the bus crash to eat all the people.

Well, no I don't quite think that. But the idea did flit across my mind for a moment.
