Thought we'd have a new thread for today.

It is raining cats and dogs (technical term) here in theNorth West- I am not very hopeful of a full days play at Wimbledon. but fingers crossed. The weather bloke last night today would be 'Frustrating Friday'in terms of play. Fond of alliteration, those Wimbledon types.

FRIDAY ORDER OF PLAY

As I thought,Robson has had an up-grade from court 2 to centre, which should give her a boost.

I actually feel horribly tense watching Laura play. I just want to cuddle her not quite old enough to be her mother but there's not much in it

Radar is fragmenting so it does look to be a case of dodge the showers! One heavyish look one looks set to hit just before 3pm, so they may get this match done?

Dustin is playing today at about 3:30 (so add an hour or two for rain) against Adrian Mannarino from France ranked 111.

Raahh You should go - it's so much easier to get tickets than for Wimbledon. Such a different atmosphere too - the French are so partisan it's untrue and it's noisy and boisterous. We went twice - once with tickets to one of the show courts and then again just with ground passes. I would say Wimbledon is better at sharing out the singles matches around the show courts and the outside courts. By the first Saturday at RG it was just doubles on the outside courts.

Arghhh! dh just rang, I've lost the remote, I'm stuck watching the Dimitrov match and his opponent has just slipped on match point....

What's happening to Laura?

Chub- it will be the 3rd round next, then the 4th, then the quarter finals. To win a slam, you have to win 7 matches.

No, Chub- this is only her second round.

Laura is looking pretty strong- and Zemlja has beaten dimitrov!

I think Zemlja deserved that win, Dimitrov was very quick with the melodrama over the pitch, but Zemlja never slipped once?

It's confusing because most of the 2nd round matches have been played already, but her's was delayed as it was last on, and it rained.

It will her possibly having to play tomorrow too.

Zemlja did deserve it- Dimitrov and Sharapova can go off and have a good moan about the state of the courts together

Well, it's not very often it's the British player that wins this easily.
