It's a bit soon for me to have an opinion yet, but it looks interesting enough that I'm recording it to watch later with DH...

OP posts:
PacificDogwood · 11/06/2013 22:01

Yes, you ahead-watchers, no spoilers, please

smokinaces · 11/06/2013 22:02

Agreed no spoilers you clever French speakers!!!

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 11/06/2013 22:04

lol i don't do spoilers. i was actually talking about the black lagoon, haven't switched ep3 on yet as subtitles plus schoolgirl french mean i have to pay attention. (imo one of the main reasons that subtitled progs have come to prominence recently, because they force you to take time out and Just Watch).

flatmum · 11/06/2013 22:04

Won't spoil. Promise.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/06/2013 22:04

Agree with Ann and tee - more fun to watch together

I don't want to read spoilers of no 2&3 before we can watch on ch 4

It was like that on the walking dead thread s3 people watched online and spoke about it and us patient people waited till was on tv 5 days later

flatmum · 11/06/2013 22:06

I agree. Although I am watching without subtitles I do have to concentrate on the French. It is nice not to be multitasking for a change.

That's why I like the skandi ones - excuse not to do the ironing while watching tv!

PacificDogwood · 11/06/2013 22:06

Actually, I sympathise with not being able to wait: I read 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' and then Could Not Wait for the other 2 books in the Millenium Trilogy. So got them in German. So now I have the 2 books in 2 languages in 3 different editions... Blush.

And yy to subtitles forcing you to actually watch and pay attention.

teejwood · 11/06/2013 22:16

The black lagoon Aitch is talking about is the BBC Derbyshire story I linked to - sorry for any confusion!

teejwood · 11/06/2013 22:20

Pacific yy Lucy was the barmaid/medium.
Serge was only in the underpass iirc.
There is a list of characters to date here on the C4 website so you know who is who and Mr Costa is Mr Costa mainly because everyone in the show called him Mr Costa iirc!

SomeDizzyWhore1804 · 11/06/2013 22:37

Noooo don't watch ahead! Be part of the event! I am a sucker for finding things online- I watched the whole of The Mindy Project after one episode because I liked it so much- but with something like this it's much better to be part of the event and have the event to look forward to and to speculate! Grin

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 11/06/2013 22:42

that sounds to me like the voice of someone with NO ACCESS TO THE FUTURE... Grin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 11/06/2013 22:53

Hmm... there is no point in speculating on this thread if people are posting about watching ahead. Because we all know that they know whether we are right or wrong. Because they keep banging on about watching ahead.

I think it is a shame that we aren't all watching it together. There aren't many TV events anymore because of the annoying TV mags and papers which post spoilers. I don't buy or read these things but they are impossible to avoid because they splash the stories across their front pages which are on display in every supermarket / convenience store.

Could we not please just let this thread be about watching it in real time? Could we not just have one programme which is an event?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 11/06/2013 22:54

Ignore the "not" in the last sentence. My pissed-offness is manifesting itself in crap writing.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 11/06/2013 22:55

Actually in the last and the penultimate sentences.

aliasjoey · 11/06/2013 23:02

I wondered about MR Costa too, everyone else, even the doctor, are first names.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 11/06/2013 23:04

I thought Mr Costa was Mr Costa because of his age. All the others are a lot younger, and France has always been quite a formal country when it comes to names / titles.

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 11/06/2013 23:36

i'm not sure why it matters that some people know what happens next and some don't, so long as no-one's posting spoilers. i watched the first and second eps before you'd even seen ep 1, but i can't see how you would have known that from what i posted.

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/06/2013 00:09

I have just come from the homeopathy thread and think I have solved the whole thing - the water in the dam holds the memory of people who died and reconstitutes them when the time is right.

I thank you

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 12/06/2013 00:13

omg i think that's an excellent theory...

AnneEyhtMeyer · 12/06/2013 07:45

The thing is Aitch, you seem to delight in posting about how how you are ahead of the rest of us. I've seen you doing it on other threads.

Where is the fun in speculating on what is going on each episode if some of us know significantly more than others?

You are right that I didn't know before I watched episode one that you had watched two episodes. I don't see why I ever had to know that to be honest. I don't get why you have a need to tell us you are watching ahead. What purpose does it serve? If you aren't posting spoilers why do you need to tell us you are ahead? Why not just join in with the general chat about the episode in question?

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 12/06/2013 08:16

jeez, god forbid anyone takes delight in anything on MN any more, eh? what a bloody misery this place is these days...

Chubfuddler · 12/06/2013 08:51

Oh god the dementors have landed on the thread.

Go and eat worms aitch.

SomeDizzyWhore1804 · 12/06/2013 08:57

Can we not all just get along? Let's forget all this silliness and backbiting and go back to talking about what's actually important, i.e. the undead Grin

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 12/06/2013 09:03

So aitch has watched ahead, would've preferred it if the thread was us all "in it together" but it's hardly the end if the world, and absolutely no worth any bad feeling.

SomeDizzyWhore1804 · 12/06/2013 09:05

Hear hear cuppa!
