Watched it last night. Tis good, but disturbing. Gillian Anderson very good. Jamie Dornan scary. Anyone else see it?

He ran out of the front door, then tried to climb the gate (into playing fields I think) but there was a man there, so he ran backinto the garden. I assume he went round the side of the house and left the way he came in, hoping the people in the street would be distracted by the open door.

lurcherlover · 04/06/2013 20:19

I thought the people in the street were going to Annie's house - I assumed she was having a party?

FamiliesShareGerms · 04/06/2013 20:48

Finally found this thread!

Am loving The Fall, even if some of the violence is gratuitous.

I think Olsen was shot by people connected to the man he arrested early on.

I think the wife (and daughter?) has to play some part in catching him, but not sure what. Interesting how physically different she is to all the victims.

The deserted house has to feature in the last episode, surely? Location for him to "make his own porn"?

I love that every actor is excellent.

I want GA's breasts.

FamiliesShareGerms · 04/06/2013 20:49

And surely all the different Munroe connections have to be untangled in the last episode too? (there's a lot to fit into an hour next week!)

BaconAndAvocado · 04/06/2013 22:00

I want her skin! And hair......she is a bit devoid of any jolliness though!

WipsGlitter · 04/06/2013 22:07

I don't thinkmtheynwere going to a party. They entered the house very hesitantly, calling out. If it was a friends house you would run in.

I think he's told the wife he's in the Samaritans (or similar) as she said something in an episode about how did he listen to people at night after having to do it all day in work.

I think the letter will have some trace of fhe daughter on it.

SoTiredAgain · 04/06/2013 22:20

I don't think they were going to a party either. They looked like they were off to the park for a drinking session.

bikinihedgetrimmers · 04/06/2013 22:28

I thought he ran into the house or down the side of it. Of course those people would be hesitant - he looked like a mad man!

wintera · 04/06/2013 23:07

Yes he did say in a previous ep that he was helping out at the Samaritans. That's where he was supposed to be when he murdered Sarah, the solicitor.

LizTerrine · 05/06/2013 07:14

Wow, I could hardly watch that. Horrible.

Gillian Anderson is fabulous, just incredible. Her performance is understated and so well-crafted. I love her.

MelanieCheeks · 05/06/2013 07:38

Slight tangent - I was at my dog training class last night, and our trainer, Michael, did the training for the dogs in this series - he was telling us about how he was hiding in ditches off camera giving instructions!

yesbutnobut · 05/06/2013 08:07

I think he'll come home to find the young babysitter there. She'll have seen/heard the news of the murder and she (or someone - his wife perhaps) will start putting 2 and 2 together. So many threads to pull together in the last hour!

wintera · 05/06/2013 09:54

It is set to end on a cliffhanger so don't expect everything to be tied up neatly in the last ep . . . .

hollyisalovelyname · 05/06/2013 09:58

I hate cliffhangers!

OP posts:
guineapiglet · 05/06/2013 10:16

Yes my heart sank when I read they had commissioned another series, at first I thought it meant, another crime to solve like in the Killing, but I have a horrible feeling they are going to drag it out, and I am not sure I would watch a second series, I guess the thing is we all know who has done it,, so the lead up to solving it and watching the PSNI fall apart, literally whilst doing so would become too painful for us all to endure - like you I hate cliffhangers, but the series has been so well reviewed and acclaimed ( by most anyway) that its' success was bound to get them to go for another series...... with the Killing the crimes were kind of self contained, but to drag out an existing one would be really hard on the viewer....

Still feel there is a mummy/religious thing going on with him - and back to the original 'fall' , down to some kind of temptation?

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 05/06/2013 10:19

a cliffhanger requires someone to be left hanging from a cliff...

ifancyashandy · 05/06/2013 11:02

The series would have been recommissioned as a result of this one being successful / after the previous one was written, filmed and edited. If it weren't to be wrapped up at the end of series one, then then the two would have been commissioned together IYSWIM?

I think S2 will be another story.

wintera · 05/06/2013 11:10

Series two was basically commissioned as soon as the viewing figures were in for the first two eps. Very impressive figures for BBC two apparently. Wouldn't be surprised if they re show it on BBC one and move the next series to prime time on BBC one. They'll want to capitalise on its success.

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 05/06/2013 11:23

having seen it all, i'm going to say both of you are wrong. Wink

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 05/06/2013 11:23

ish Grin

SoTiredAgain · 05/06/2013 11:28

I'm hoping that it'll be GA's character asked to go to a different part of the country to solve other murders. Super detective find of thing. So we'll have her character but the rest (or most) of them will be new.

SoTiredAgain · 05/06/2013 11:31

Aitch please don't spoil it or even give us a hint of a spoil. It's not playing nice and half the fun we have is speculating and having wild theories etc.

lurcherlover · 05/06/2013 11:33

Yes Aitch, we know you think it's rubbish but we like it so please don't spoil it!

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 05/06/2013 11:34

i've never posted a spoiler on here in my life... relax. this crappy show's got you all wound up.

wannabedomesticgoddess · 05/06/2013 11:48

Do you mean to be so rude?
